I can't believe how many babies have been born already. Congratulations to all the new mums.

Today is my first day of maternity leave so I'm hoping I'll actually be able to keep up with posting a bit better now. I dropped off the radar for a while there. Just waiting for the carpet fitters to arrive then once we have new carpet down I can actually start getting everything ready for LO to arrive on Friday.

Honeybird · 09/02/2015 10:43

What a night, why do they sleep so beautifully during the day then spend the night eating and complaining?

On the other hand, I can lie down ON MY FRONT! Woohoo! Until the milk comes in at least...

Going home today and can't wait to see how my three get along.

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 10:46

Honey.... I hear you on that, currently have a lively sleeping baby..... Come 10pm its party time, planned on sleeping on sofa today but workmen are noisy buggers and smoke alarms keep going off

Grinningcat · 09/02/2015 11:07

Congrats postit.

First official day of maternity leave today (last week was annual leave) and feeling a bit at a loss of what to do. Feel like I should do do etching special to celebrate, but so far have managed to do the ironing! I have a pregnancy massage booked for Thursday courtesy of DH to look forward too. So far very few indications of labour starting here (had a couple of period pain cramps BH last night, but that's it) so can't even delude myself that anything is starting. On the other hand the fisher price newborn to toddler rocker has just arrived so I have that to unpack Grin.

Grinningcat · 09/02/2015 11:08

Etching? I meant something. Silly spellcheck.

BanglesSpangles · 09/02/2015 12:06

Hey all, just checking in- sidney john was born this morning at 1.26, weighing 6lb 10. Didn't quite manage home birth as had a little bit of bleeding early on in labour so took ourselves off to hospital to be on the safe side but we did end up in the mlu in the pool which was fab.

No drugs, apart from the ones i got to be stitched up with afterwards. Utterly petrified of doing a poo!

freneticfox · 09/02/2015 12:11

Congratulations Bangles, so lovely you got to birth in the pool!

My gosh it's getting baby-busy around here!

WhyO - how are things today? Hope the lurgy isn't sticking around your house x

Katsand · 09/02/2015 12:25

Wow so many babies :-). Congratulations to all of you.
39+6 today and no signs whatsoever but good thing is that I'm feeling quite comfortable, only struggle to turn over in bed at night.
So my "team" are now starting to tell me what days will suit them best and today everyone seems to be busy so am feeling quite happy with no symptoms.
Seeing midwife tomorrow and might ask her for sweep as partner is off until Friday. We will see what she says...
I wouldn't say I am nesting as I haven't felt any joy In cleaning but I keep going through the house but it's like a never winning battle as the kids cause new mess anytime Ive finished each room. So staying busy. And am wiping doors and door frames etc. am determined to use the time before baby comes as much as possible.
Good luck everyone going in to labour today. :-)

longbottom · 09/02/2015 12:36

Congrats bangles!
I am so jealous of all these babies being born, 37+5 here and officially on maternity leave! Spent the morning napping on the sofa after dropping DD at school!

Bangonthedoor · 09/02/2015 13:12

Ahh congrats bangles! Thanks

All these babies are keeping me going! Getting so frustrated now, 40+3 today and my trip with DD to a farm failed to bring labour on Hmm but DD was very happy with her special time with mummy so definitely worth going for that Smile

Sweep for me tomorrow if nothing before then!

How are you whyO? Hope you didn't catch the bug!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/02/2015 13:52

Dont want to jinx myself but I think I've escaped the sickness bug and DH will just about be 48hrs clear for ELCS in morning. I'm actually not feeling that nervous yet - somehow doesn't feel real that I'll have my baby girl tomorrow.

Good luck pinky & mim

Congratulations postit, hope you get the feeding issues sorted. Flowers

Congratulations bangles Flowers

Bangonthedoor · 09/02/2015 14:54

Good news why, I'm relieved for you Smile

LittleMissSunshine33 · 09/02/2015 16:43

Congratulations bangles! Thanks

Oh no bang are you the first to go over due date? I won't be far behind you I don't think! Am already getting texts from friends asking if I've had it ... really?!

Good luck WhyO!

Frenetic isn't your ELC tomorrow?

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 17:34

Congrats bangles! He is lovely!

So my first day without dh has gone ok but suppose fact I couldnt leave the house due to plumber, baby was very fussy today didn't want to be put down then filled a nappy a peed on my mum and then slept for 3 hours....why doesn't he sleep like this at night?Grin
He has now dropped off again so have put food on.

suppost to be registering him tomorrow but part of the building is actually on fire at the moment (fil lives a few doors away) so unsure if we will be able to register him now

Purpletoes · 09/02/2015 17:37

Wow lots of new babies. How exciting.
Congratulations everyone and good luck to everyone with their elcs tomorrow.

I am 38 weeks today and still no sign. I went for a long walk today as had a diabetic nurse appointment but no joy !

Due to the gestational diabetes at least I know I will be induced at 40 if nothing happens.

Got a bit excited when I came home from my walk as I had a very loose bowel movement but I think it may be more to do with the lactolose I have been taking with my iron tablets Hmm

Ideally would like the baby before Thursday or after next Tuesday as its my ds birthday on Monday. Not picky obviously. WinkWink

Grinningcat · 09/02/2015 17:42

Congratulations bangles.

memphis its on fire?!!! Wow!

Well did a little gardening and had a nap. May repack my hospital bag later.

freneticfox · 09/02/2015 18:49

My section isn't until Weds LittleMiss, one more day!

Can't wait :D

Bangonthedoor · 09/02/2015 19:34

Good luck for elcs tomorrow whyO, looking forward to hearing the news.

I'm not sure if I'm the first littlemiss, but it's bloody annoying! Hopefully my sweep tomorrow will do something or at least let me know what my cervix is up to! I've been getting so many texts too, suddenly everyone wants to know updates etc, from people that rarely text me normally too!

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 20:14

Thimking of you for tomorrow whyO.

Grinning yes, 3 engines, road still closed, the library is gutted Sad apparently the part of building we need is totally un touxhed but wonder if it will still all be closed.

Tried moving thr crib closer to the bed for tonight to see if him being closer to me helps him sleep.

GeekyHybrid · 09/02/2015 20:53

Congrats bangles Flowers Flowers

Can't wait for news on pinky and mim

Not a lot to report here except for the baby blues hitting big style, bf is no longer going to plan - incredibly painful. Got bf specialist coming tomorrow, I've already resorted to expressing twice this morning as it was less painful but I'm beating myself up for it. I have managed to feed since, we'll see how tonight goes :-/ And MIL is within half an inch of being told to FO big style, Isaac won't sleep in the crib yet so has slept beside me on the bed, and all she can say is "it's dangerous, put him in the basket, when I had OH (40 years ago!!) all the babies had to go in the cots after being fed, you weren't allowed to cuddle them etc.." So (me thinks!), you tortured the poor babies in them days and that's what you expect me to do. Hmmm. Could get interesting around here... Thanks all, rant done, for now ;-/

GeekyHybrid · 09/02/2015 20:59

PS - bang I had 3 people txt fri morning to ask "any news?!", because of the no contractions situation etc I replied "no", of course because of the (very) quick turn of events, when they saw the announcement they thought I'd been fibbing :-D Remembering that has actually made me smile, tfft, something positive!

RedSal · 09/02/2015 21:21

Figured it was FINALLY time for me to stop just reading and actually say HELLO seeing as tomorrow is the due date, so obviously that means the baby will be here promptly.....I wish.

Congrats to all those who have had babies already and chin up to everyone like me who is still waiting excitedly/ grumpily (I know which one describes me best).

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 21:27

Oh geeky tell her to do one. My mil offered me the gem last time of 'ds slept through at 6 weeks.....well I presume he did he went in his own room and cried but he soon learnt he was crying for nothing' she shut up when I told her that would be seen as abuse now!
You do what makes you and ds happy, ds wants to hold my hand/bra strap...or something on me so I am so tempted to buy one of those co sleeper cribs as we couldn't co sleep as dh sleeps way too deep for it to be safe.
Hope your bf support goes well tomorrow, I also had messages from the few on the morning I had ds saying any news then within an hour were told he was here so they didn't believe me!

donkir · 09/02/2015 23:10

Geeky I'm completely with you on bf. I've thought about giving up several times. Especially when my milk came in. My nipples were shredded mainly on one side. LO seemed to just be getting blood. I've been using shields for a week now and they've been a godsend for my sanity. My bf counsellor wasn't keen but agreed that if it kept me feeding them it was worth it. 9 days in and it has got better. Breasts have calmed down loads although are still very huge.
Tonight we tried to get some kind of bedtime structure (eg putting clean sleep suit on and not just what he was wearing) changed at 6.15 then fed for an hr. In crib by 7.20 and asleep by 7.35. I'm very impressed. I took myself straight to bed and he's only just woke for a feed. I know tomorrow it will come bite me in the bum.
Good luck to all inducties this week.

tweety89 · 09/02/2015 23:49

Wow! So many babies the past 3 days! Congratulations everyone and good luck tomorrow whyo.
Nothing much here. Probably my hormones are a bit all over the place. Not in the best of moods and DD is playing us up the past couple of weeks; crying, complaining, being naughty, not listening...I really hope it's just a pre-baby phase...She's 4.5 so I'm hoping that when she meets the baby she'll understand there's no need to worry.
