WhyOWhyWouldYou · 08/02/2015 16:09

bang always best to get checked if you think movements reduced.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/02/2015 17:06

Thanks ladies Smile

I agree with WhyO bang if you are concerned get it checked out tomorrow won't hurt to voice it to your midwife, I'm sure it's just lack of space or reserving it's energy for the big day though! Touchwood if you're over due it will be in the next few days!

sandulacek · 08/02/2015 17:25

Congratulations suzi, giant, and honey Flowers

sandulacek · 08/02/2015 17:26

Giant's story had me in tears...hormones all over the place!

Bangonthedoor · 08/02/2015 18:04

Thanks why and littlemiss, baby moving loads now typically so might see how things go tomorrow.

Ive made loads of plans for this week, taking DD to a farm tomorrow, meeting my friends new baby on Tuesday, nails and brows being done plus going out for dinner on Wednesday eve just me and DP...surely that's enough for Sod's law to bring baby along to ruin all my plans?! Grin

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 08/02/2015 18:35

Bang they like to keep us on our toes like that, don't they. Sounds like you've probably made enough plans for sods law to mean you labour soon. With DS I was 7days overdue when me and mom planned a trip to the beach for the following morning (about 45mins away), so of course labour started in the early hours of the morning.

Grinningcat · 08/02/2015 18:45

Well on that note I should be expecting to go into labour on wed pm when the boiler man comes to service our boiler! Grin

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 19:16

Bang this lo had real ups and downs in movement over the last week too...

Think I forgot to say earlier baby was born in the caul this morning, anybody else had that? Midwife helped me uncover her face as soon as she was up out of the water. Really kind of bizarre but supposed to be lucky!

Memphisbelly · 08/02/2015 19:28

Honey yes supposed to be very lucky and means a laid back baby...my nephew was born in membrane and is so chilled its untrue

Giantbabymama · 08/02/2015 19:31

Thanks everyone. Ah sandulacek didn't mean to upset people. Please don't worry, i think what happened to me was pretty unusual. I think I was a combination of unlucky and very lucky - unlucky in that I had a mix of small issues that all added together meant fetal distress was likely at a late stage - high BP, borderline GD, and I've had a rotten pregnancy with loads of sickness so even though now I look back, I realise I didn't feel right in the last week i put it down to just feeling terrible as normal and didn't get checked out as I would have done if had had trouble free pregnancy and wasn't totally used to feeling awful.
And then I was extremely lucky to have a doc who kept a v close eye on me so he spotted when things went wrong straight away. I will be buying him a big present.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I was pretty shocked but so relieved baby girl is ok. Good luck to those still waiting. I would like to reiterate that my experience is pretty unusual I think so I wouldn't want people to worry the same will happen to them. Do get checked though if you don't feel right in the last few weeks. Better to turn up at hospital and get sent home again than be at home worrying.

I am also having postnatal hormones. Kept randomly crying on Skype to my brother today while simultaneously saying, "I feel fine, the hormones are making me weep". Weird.

sandulacek · 08/02/2015 20:15

Thanks giant I'm ok now. It's good to hear the birth stories. We all came a long way and want to hold our lo soon, I just sometimes worry what if...blooming hormones.

PeppermintInfusion · 08/02/2015 20:43

Argh having a lazy evening painting my nails and watching Netflix, but keep getting 'twinges' which are probably just good old fanny daggers but they still have me on edge a bit. I'm only 37+5 though and really really would like to get my hair cut on Thursday!

postitnotes · 09/02/2015 00:57

Hello again ladies!

Got home last night after having having baby postit Thurs morning ELCS. She's lovely and I could spend all day cuddling her. Op part was scary, I kept crying, but the recovery has been great - so much less pain than last time, hurrah!

Breastfeeding is an absolute bastard though...she's got a tongue tie which thankfully has been spotted but we've got a three week wait for the appointment. My nipple looked like she'd turned it inside out this morning, made me really queasy. But had midwife visit who gave me alternatives and I've sorted a private practitioner to visit tomorrow (with the scissors, erk!) and hopefully we'll get feeding nailed soon.

Congrats to those with their babies, and good luck to those still waiting. Will catch up with thread and get up to speed. Does everyone join the post natal thread now? What's the protocol?! X

PinkyAndTheBump · 09/02/2015 01:26

Much excitement! Waters have broken but no sign of contractions. Currently in Triage to check all well and expect to be sent home to come back in the morning for scheduled induction!

Honeybird · 09/02/2015 01:37

Good luck pinky!

Congratulations post it, hope you get the breastfeeding sorted out soon!

freneticfox · 09/02/2015 02:52

Congratulations postit, glad the op went well.

Can't sleep at all tonight, pre ELCS anxiety is nagging at me a few days early!

Mimosa1 · 09/02/2015 07:38

Morning all and congrats, giant , honey and suziGrin! I'm going in this morning to be induced. I know just what you mean about nerves, frenetic!

Bangonthedoor · 09/02/2015 07:45

blankfornames · 09/02/2015 08:02

I've missed loads!! Congratulations to all the new Babas!! Fantastic news. Hope you are all doing really well.

Had the busiest weekend but still no Baba! I know I'm only 38+4 but itching to get going. Going for reflexology tomorrow so hoping I'll get some update from that. My good friend next door is 6 days overdue with her 2nd so I'm already on high alert for her!

Enjoy all those newborn cuddles!!

blankfornames · 09/02/2015 08:03

p.s. Best of luck Pinky and Mimosa!

donkir · 09/02/2015 08:12

Morning ladies, congrats on all the babies born this weekend. Hope today goes well mim.
Had a nice weekend here although had very little sleep. LO seems to be awake/feeding from 8pm through to about 2ish. After that he's a dream but but me and other half are bloody knackered.
Managed to drive to a country park yesterday which was nice. There's only so many times I can walk into town and not need anything.
Not looking forward to next Monday when OH will be back at work.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 09/02/2015 08:48

Congratulations postit!! glad all is wellThanks

Good luck pinky and mimosa! Enjoying waking up to news each day Grin

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 08:53

The babies are coming thick and fast now!

I did my first night of night shift last night...wow what a shock to thr system, he has really sore nappy rash so he hardly slept at all. Got to 3.30 when dh got up for work and he just took the baby from me for 20 mins so I could have 20 mins nap. Am a total zombie today.

Plumber should be coming but im not holding my breath giving it until 11 before I call them. Got a friend dropping some baby clothes off, her son wore all Joules and Boden so looking forward to getting those!

Memphisbelly · 09/02/2015 09:41

Boiler man is here...I didn't realise they turn off my water....all day bugger, we have water in prep machine for milk but no toilet....looks like I will have to go out for a bit this afternoon, I haven't even brushed my teeth!BlushGrin

Ticktick · 09/02/2015 10:08

Wow more babies! We must be close to half way delivered now? Congratulations to everybody with new arrivals!

Can't wait to join the club, still 8 days till due date. Feels like forever! I'm trying the sods law trick today, planning a shopping trip to a town 30 mins drive away... On my own... Oooh! So come on then baby, are you tempted? Haha
