fab story geeky
why, i think it might be before all the puking that youre contagious, so you may be ok- that said im sure i saw a sign in mine last week asking if youd had contact with anyone with a sickness bug in the last x hours, and asking you not to come in if so, so it might be worth ringing to check

Another night of super period pains- pretty sure itll just be like yesterday and will disappear entirely as soon as i tet up and start moving

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 08/02/2015 09:22

Sand I feel like a total bitch leaving him to disinfect everything each time and just staying out of his way. The other problem is I can't get food unless he gets it for me - its all downstairs, I'm stuck up stairs. Mom says it should be OK as long as he uses antibacterial hand gel and she'll be back tonight.

I don't think timing could be much worse. Although hopefully there will just about be 48hrs clear before hospital on Tuesday, so long as I avoid catching it.

GeekyHybrid · 08/02/2015 09:47

why I'm thinking of you and hope you avoid catching the bug. All fingers crossed for you etc..

Honey and those wondering about being able to tell if it's 'actual' labour - I would go with pain really ramps up AND I'd previously read descriptions where people said they felt like they needed a huge poo. Yep, felt like a log was starting to come down my ass and press on my anus Shock

loopsy got the sore nips here too from bf, hopefully we can just ride through it. Isaac latches so well but would stay on and comfort suckle after if left to it. Think I'll be getting him a dummy today!

Have just managed to recharge my phone so can now announce arrival of Ella Mary at 2.59pm on Friday. Thick head of black hair was a bit of a shock. Will post birth story when I'm up to it which might explain the delay in posting. Nap time now while she's asleep!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 08/02/2015 10:08

Congratulations Suzi Flowers

geeky I really recommend "lanisoh lanolin" cream for nipples. It really stops them feeling sore. Its about £10 a tube (I think its down to 7something in mothercare) but so so worth it.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/02/2015 10:23

Congratulations Suzi hope all went well Thanks

Do you think you can get baby blues before the baby is born?! I feel really low and teary today which isn't like me. I feel lonely and suddenly not ready for baby! Sad

Bangonthedoor · 08/02/2015 10:33

Aw congrats suzi! Thanks Hope all went ok, she shares the same name as my DD Smile

why, I have my fingers crossed for you that you don't catch it. I think normally adults can avoid it from each other quite well by keeping up with hygiene etc. it's only if children get it when you know you have no chance of escaping it! Luckily he'll miss the 48 hrs as you say so I'm hoping all will be ok with you.

Nice to hear all is going well geeky Smile

Oh littlemiss, I completely understand and feel the same. I was like this at the end of my pregnancy with DD. I feel so down, don't want to see anyone, talk to anyone, I have a short fuse too. This morning when DP said he was popping out I just cried because like you, I too feel lonely and want some affection and company. I had a nice bubble bath and he's promised me a trip to get some seeds for our garden (simple things!) and maybe a lunch out with DD. Is there anything that can help you relax a bit and feel a bit more special? If your OH isn't around today maybe lunch with a friend?

NicLondon1 · 08/02/2015 11:35

Congrats Suzi!

Well my contractions yesterday didn't amount to anything at all... in fact, I woke up at 4am thinking I was having a very painful contraction... then I did a HUGE loud fart & it immediately eased it! :)

Geeky, I will now be on Log Alert!

Re: loneliness... i have felt this too. I think it is natural to retreat into yourself as you prepare for the job ahead... hormones are all over the place.

Giantbabymama · 08/02/2015 11:52

Hiya, another girl here. Born Thursday feb 5th about 1pm local time, 9am UK time. It was an EMCS as was in for a routine 39 week apt for a trace which doc wanted cos of my blood pressure and glucose and it turned out her heart wasn't doing what it should while I was having low level contractions, so I had a second trace and her heart rate dipped dramatically once and then again so they decided to do EMCS under general rather than wait for an epidural or spinal block.

It was a bit dramatic with people running about shouting and I had to remind the anaesthetist about a drug allergy I have as for some reason he hadn't seen my file. When they got her out, her amniotic fluid was all green is so I guess they did the right thing and it was lucky I had an appointment that day. The general meant DH could not be there and he was at work so I had to call him to tell him to come straight away while they were prepping me for theatre. He got there before she was out though and got to see her while they washed off all the stuff and then sat with me once they had stitched me up too and we waited for her to be brought down. We haven't decided on a name yet but she was 8lbs 3oz which is pretty good going for 39 weeks. Feeds a lot and has a good set of lungs.

I guess I would have preferred to make it to 40 weeks and then get induced if need be as was sure she would not come early but I am so grateful she is here ok as could have been a lot worse. Even my normally v serious doc said he thought someone must have been looking out for us on the day.

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 12:58

Tabitha Sara born this am 10.37. About 5 hours labour born in water and still in membranes! 7lb feeding well. Birth story to follow...

Hope you don't catch it why!

L1ttleMissGiggles · 08/02/2015 13:09

Many congrats giant and honey. The girls are catching up with the boys now! xxxxxxxxx

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 13:10

Goodness giant congratulations!

longbottom · 08/02/2015 13:28

Congratulations, how lovely all these girls!!
I am desperate to find out now what baby is!!
I too have had a few days of pre baby blues, lots of tears and sobbing on the sofa Sad
I'm sure it's the hormones and lack of sleep, I'm also panicking of how I'm going to cope and how it will all effect DD as her little life is going to change so much.

Memphisbelly · 08/02/2015 14:07

Giant wow sounds like you were very lucky to be checked that day, congratulations hope you recover quickly.

On the hormones front I felt quite wobbly just before i had the baby, a bit gow am I going to manage? Fear about birth after the scary sweep. Think it is fear of unknown and how much your life is going to alter forever and is totally normal.
I haven't been too hormonal since the birth but am feeling very wobbly today, Tiredness mixed with worry about dh going back to work, and also worrying about boiler going in and being freezing in the house while it is done. I don't feel grown up enough to have 2 children that I am soley responsible for Confused hoping to be rewarded with a scorching hot bath tomorrow night though!

GeekyHybrid · 08/02/2015 14:11

Congratulations suzi, giant and honey, we've had a busy weekend so far! Honey sounds like you had the birth I planned! And giant it does sound like you got lucky. Thanks Thanks Thanks to all 3 girls!

BanglesSpangles · 08/02/2015 14:21

Congrats suzie, giant and honey :)

Littlemiss- ive had a few moments of gloomy introspection over the past few weeks- sure its just hormones and for me it's all passed pretty quickly

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 14:42

Well here we go... Skip over if you like to avoid the details.

Darling sweet 2 yo daughter had me up at 3 am AGAIN last night and I noticed very regular BH. By 4 they were quite sore and by 5 I knew there was no going back. My friend came round about 6.30 and we went into hospital. Was coping fairly well, breathing through etc. 3cm but very soft and with bulging waters at about 8.30 am exam and given baby no. 3 MW assured me she thought things would move along quite nicely.

I'm a bit of a control freak maybe, wanted exams every 5 minutes to know whether things were moving along but MW kept refusing!

Got in the water maybe 9 or 9.30am having just been told I was at 6cm. Was really starting to struggle. Usually moan or sort of hum through contractions but they were ending up more like shouting. Wanted to go home. Typical transition.

Horrible being told not to push... Did my best to breathe g&a as if you push too soon you can swell up remaining cervix and put lots of pressure on baby.

Couldn't help it any more, just had to poo/give birth. MW coached and I tried to only push when body was really telling me too. Worked nicely, she was born slowly and only have some grazing, 10.37am.

Waters and bloody show had both gone in the pool. As she exited she had her first poo and as I speak I can see it still sitting in bottom of the pool... Eventually they'll move me to post natal!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/02/2015 14:43

Congrats giant and honey!!Thanks

Thanks lady re pre-baby blues OH took me out for lunch which has made me feel better at the mo I think I am getting cabin fever I need to book in a few lunches for next week!

freneticfox · 08/02/2015 14:45

Congratulations suzi, giant, and honey.. Such an exciting couple of days! X

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/02/2015 14:47

Thanks for the story honey congrats again sounds like you were a pro!
I'm hoping for a water birth did it help??

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 14:47

Monster post sorry... What else... She has latched on with just a few false starts and my nipples are already complaining. DH arrived very soon after birth and we're both happy with that, I really think DD's birth traumatised him a bit and my friend was a fantastic birth partner. Kids seemed pleased but also a bit unsure about the new addition.

Fantastic birth really, been very lucky. Just knackered and sore and wondering how on earth to deal with three children at once.

Honeybird · 08/02/2015 14:49

Littlemiss water is fantastic if you ask me, you don't have to support your own weight, very comfy. The small downside just in my case is that MWs are by necessity very hands off, but I constantly want to know what is going on!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 08/02/2015 15:25

Thanks Honey I know what you mean I think I'd like a bit of a count down on measurements etc but if it helps the pain I'm all for it! Glad it went well for you!! Smile

Bangonthedoor · 08/02/2015 16:03

Ah congrats ladies!! More girls! Lovely! Thanks

Glad you're feeling a bit better littlemiss Smile

I'm definitely having reduced movements - over the course of the last few days id say. Don't know whether to be worried or not? I've felt movements just very minimal. Just been lying down on my side after some cold apple juice and baby has woken up but still not giving me much.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 08/02/2015 16:05

Congratulations giant & honey Flowers.

little hormones can be all over the place at this point, coupled with how much you expect life to change, its totally normal to have times when you feel down, anxious, etc.
