Im so sorry about my multiple post...no idea what happened there!

GeekyHybrid · 06/02/2015 05:20

Morning blank - keeping the insomnia club going!

Here I did my usual waking about 4.30 or so. Visit to the loo. Bit of fidgeting to try get comfy. Turned over then whoosh, waters gone. Sheets going to need washing :-/ Only put it on 2 days ago, hmph. No actual contractions though. So breakfast and floating about waiting I suppose. OH, obedient as ever, has gone back to sleep!

Wow Geeky, sounds like you'll be on the other side soon too! Good luck.

Bangonthedoor · 06/02/2015 06:53

Eek!!! Yay geeky and cookie!! Come on babies!! Grin

mini that's really great, I hope you both manage to get home really soon Smile

Well I'm officially 40 wks, due today. I was going to say it's the only day really you're guaranteed the baby won't arrive but actually geeky, you're also due today so you never know!

blankfornames · 06/02/2015 06:57

Geeky!! Wow I wasn't expecting that! Had you had any major discomfort when you got up or was the waters going your first sign? Exciting thread these days!

Loopsy, how you and your little girl doing?

Littleflump15 · 06/02/2015 07:10

Hi all, still here due date today eek! Not really convinced any things going to happen though. Oh was desperate to not have to go to work this morning but no reason not to I'm getting so impatient now :-)

Bangonthedoor · 06/02/2015 07:24

Can't believe you're still working littleflump! Shock

GeekyHybrid · 06/02/2015 07:28

blank no particular discomfort. The usual trying to get comfortable on my side after a trip to the loo, as I was turning having decided the other side might be worth a shot it just suddenly felt almost like a massive wee that I had no control over, except that I'd gone 10 mins earlier! Still no definite contractions - I've just done the dishes as not feeling sleepy after breakfast but may try nap soon. And trust me bang - I'm laughing that it's DD! I've even arranged to go to a friends this afternoon thinking 'nothing will happen on DD!'

How are you still working Littleflump?! Legend!

Anyone having a lot of discomfort between the bottom of their bump and their pubic bone? I'm trying to establish whether it's the head engaged or just another joyful pregnancy symptom. Lost my plug 6 days ago but ain't nothing happenin'!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 06/02/2015 08:08

Eeek what exciting news to wake up to geeky and cookie Thanks

A lot of due dates today I've got a week today already getting impatient! Told OH I need some money to go shopping as walking around bluewater is very good exercise and may help move things along Smile

Bangonthedoor · 06/02/2015 08:14

Ha love that littlemiss Wink good thinking!

Well I've been a busy bee already, washing done and drying, dinner in the slow cooker for later, washing up done and pancakes made. Might actually put some make up on today and brush my hair Grin

BanglesSpangles · 06/02/2015 09:13

Morning all
Exciting stuff cookie and geeky

Top of bump is still so freaking sore- sure its nothing apart from being booted repeatedly from the inside. MW appointment today- i think ive got an extra one after the whole 'measuring small' non-saga last week, then im going to make sure my niece diesnt get up to mischief dor a few hours so my sis can pack up her kitchen ready to move on monday

Memphisbelly · 06/02/2015 09:31

Geeky and cookie good luck hope things kick off soon for you.

Frenetic how did pre op go?

So you know the saying never wake a sleeing baby?.....yeah its true NEVER wake a sleeping baby. Lovely sleepy baby was woken by mean mummy at 9.20pm to top him up with milk.....you know, so he sleeps longer?.....1.40 am this tiny thing stopped crying and thrashing about....he was angry. I will never make that mistake again

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 06/02/2015 10:01

mini glad you're recovering well and that LO is doing well.

cookie & geeky exciting! More thread babies soon.

frenetic how was pre-op?

Going downstairs and out to preop yesterday has seriously escalated my PGP pain. We were supposed to try go out for a meal to celebrate DH's first day in new job tonight, hope I can manage to get down stairs.

BanglesSpangles · 06/02/2015 10:33

Hmm, midwife said i could have a sweep next week- i'll only be 39+6! Told her i thought that was a bit premature what with not actually being 'overdue' or anything by then, and she looked a bit put out!

Boo why- hope you'll feel better today- sure you dont need me to tell you to rest up!

blankfornames · 06/02/2015 11:08

Bangles, my Consultant offered me one next Wed..I'll only be 38+6!!

BanglesSpangles · 06/02/2015 11:52

Ha- Weird! Does nobody believe in just sitting it out and seeing what happens any more? wonder how many people take a sweep when its offered

freneticfox · 06/02/2015 11:52

Oooh good luck geeky and cookie - so exciting :D

Pre-op went ok yesterday, they asked if it was ok to let a student midwife do my bloods - I consented because we've all got to learn, haven't we? Bless her, she was quite nervous and couldn't get a vein first go! Got a bit of a bruise this morning, but no big :p

Feeling a lot better about the op, they gave me some antacids and antiemetics to take the night before the op and the morning of. There's only two section scheduled that morning, so I could be in theatre as early as 9am. EEEK. Didn't realise the labour ward had their own theatre, which is fantastic.

Has anyone heard of enhanced recovery? It's something new the maternity unit do - part of it being this high energy drink they gave me to take tablets with on the morning. There's some other stuff in paperwork they gave me. They did stress that it's not mandatory and if anything feels too 'quick' then to say.

All-in-all... I'm happy. Just waiting now!

PeppermintInfusion · 06/02/2015 12:19

Had my dr appt this morning, junior is still head down thankfully! He is quite far down in the pelvis so not for moving now, at least I can relax a bit about the fanny daggers and not be as worried about going into labour.

His estimated was 6lbs 10oz at the min, quite suprised as always imagined I'd be having a big one!

BanglesSpangles · 06/02/2015 12:34

Ooh frenetic you are good! I am absolutely fine with med students and letting trainees have a go, but I think I'd have to think twice if there was a vague possibility that it might hurt more than a fully trained person doing it!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 06/02/2015 12:35

Frenetic I've heard about it but its not offered by me. Personally I'd opt for it, then see how you feel after - you can just ask to stay longer if you need to.

freneticfox · 06/02/2015 12:39

Bangles I'm quite good with needles, they never really phased me, and I have a fairly high pain threshold so may as well let students take advantage of that ;)

WhyO - It sounds interested, news stories about it first emerged about three years ago (doing research!), the idea being it gets people in a state so they are fitter to recover at home, where risk of infection is less for lower risk patients. I assume it doesn't apply to people who've just had open heart surgery for example!

Mimosa1 · 06/02/2015 13:25

Hi everyone! Geeky and Cookie, so exciting! And frenetic, glad preop went ok. I'm at my 41 + 1 overdue -appointment and been told head is only 3/5th engaged!!! This little lodger looks like she is in for the long haulConfused DH and I are waiting around for the scan now.

Cookie1831 · 06/02/2015 13:47
