Ah congratulations cookie! How lovely and quick for you! Thanks

LittleMissSunshine33 · 06/02/2015 14:29

Congratulations cookie!! Thanks

sandulacek · 06/02/2015 14:52

Congrats cookie. I wonder how geeky is doing. No posts from her during today.

The thread is moving so fast, I'm losing the track. mini glad mini you is doing fine.

Ladies with elcs - are you going to take arnica? If yes when will you start?

Bangonthedoor · 06/02/2015 15:45

Just done some crazy bouncing on the ball and some sideways stair walking. I'm determined to not let this weekend go by without baby showing it's face! Grin

JacktheLab · 06/02/2015 15:49

Congrats cookie :)

Everyone with the babies already here, how much are they sleeping? Phoebe is sleeping almost all the day and spending hours of the night awake, I'm guessing this is fairly normal, but I've forgotten what my DS did!

Memphisbelly · 06/02/2015 15:52

jack yes same here all day snooze...10pm is the start of party time. everyone telling me i look good. . ..this is set to change once dh makes me share night wake ups

longbottom · 06/02/2015 16:56

Congrats cookie!!

Had a trip to hospital this morning as baby hadn't moved since yesterday afternoon. Had a trace and all ok, little bit worried still but feel reassured after hearing heart beat. 37+2 now and finished work!
Roll on sleeping all day and eating lots on the sofa Grin

freneticfox · 06/02/2015 17:20

Congratulations cookie, lovely name! :)

donkir · 06/02/2015 17:25

I forgot how quickly the thread moves.
Congrats to all babies born this week.
I'm now 6 days after delivery and all healing nicely. Trying to get out once a day. Baby has jaundice but it seems to be going now. Tomorrow will be the first day without mw coming. They're lovely but such a pain having to just wait in all day until they come.
Bf is becoming a slog I forgot how demanding it is. Milk came in a few days ago but I'm still full all the time which can be uncomfortable. Had a few teary moments but thankfully oh has been amazing.

BanglesSpangles · 06/02/2015 18:45

Congrats cookie!
Have done literally nothing today except eat stuff

longbottom · 06/02/2015 19:36

Bangles that is my plan for tomorrow!!

jenmcspen · 06/02/2015 19:53

Congrats cookie Smile

Our little 'un seems to sleep about 90% of the time and is pretty much only awake at night to be fed, tho it can take him a while to settle again. Even in the day we barely see him with his eyes open. Guessing this will change soon!

donkir I found the first week or so of bf really hard. We are now on day 18 and both much happier, tho sometimes I feel like I'm constantly feeding him! Hope it gets easier and more comfortable for you very soon too

Grinningcat · 06/02/2015 20:56

Congratulations to all the new mums.

I've had a really great day today. Had a good night's sleep and then PIL took me out for lunch and I had the most massive ice cream sundae all to myself. Grin. Now happily sag watching rugby with my feet up on the sofa.

One interesting side effect from finally having baby the right way round is getting kicked in the ribs. I'm glad for it as it means baby is positioned correctly, but can't say it's plesant! I'm aware though that the rest of you have been putting up with this for weeks.

L1ttleMissGiggles · 06/02/2015 21:03

Got myself a birthing ball today. Been having a bounce and a wiggle whilst watching Corrie. Is there anything specific that I should be doing on it to help baby engage? X

Memphisbelly · 06/02/2015 21:27

Congrats cookie!

Donkir yes I hated waiting in for mw the fact that they don't give a time, glad they won't come again, I have thr health visitor coming again next week but at least they give a time!

Jen baby is opening his eyes a little more now and seems to be focusing a bit on things now, sure his eyes will start opening more and more but he is the same as yours 90% of time eyes are firmly closed.
Started a bit of tummy time today on advice of hv, he seems to love being on his front.....unlike ds1 who hated it!

jenmcspen · 06/02/2015 22:18

We tried tummy time last week but little man just wanted to sleep! Will try again when he is a bit more alert!

tweety89 · 06/02/2015 23:15

Congratulations cookie! :)

sandulacek haven't started arnica yet and unfortunately I forgot to ask the specialist yesterday, so I'll ask the mw on Monday in case she has an answer for me. My problem is that it's homeopathy so I'll need to get a new toothpaste (without mint) and I cannot have any coffee and well...coffee is one of the things I cannot quit... Blush Blush On DD, I was expressing milk and had a coffee immediately after...
When is your elcs arranged for?

frenetic why I haven't been told anything about a pre-op app. I was given a kind of detailed leaflet about elcs at my hospital, the pills to get the night after and the morning of the cs and that's about it. I even asked the specialist about this app yesterday, but she said, nope, just see your mw on Monday or even a bit later and we'll see you on the 19th. Do I need to know anything in particular beforehand?

Also, they told me that I'm going to be given the spinal injection, not an epidural. Anyone had it before? Or at least knows what's the difference? I've got a very bad back since I was 13 because of intense exercise and I'm a bit concerned. I was already concerned the first time with the epidural on my emcs but I was fine in the end.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 06/02/2015 23:29

Tweety pre-op for me was basically a chance to ask questions and for them to run through procedure (from the no food after midnight, no water after 7am, to meds to take on morning, to arrival time and where to go and a simple overview of what happens). They take bloods on morning of op here.

I'm having a spinal. My understanding of the difference between that and epidural is a spinal, uses a smaller needle, you don't have a little tube left in your back, its a single dose thing (whereas epidural can be topped up), lasts for a shorter time allowing you to become mobile more quickly afterwards and most importantly for me, is easier for them to site (I have multiple back injuries/problems).

blankfornames · 06/02/2015 23:37

Congrats Cookie!! Brilliant news!

Littlemiss, lots of swinging hips from side to side and forwards and backwards. Also forming the number 8 is good.

Good luck with them all!

BanglesSpangles · 07/02/2015 07:55

Morning all- hoping the lack of messages means everyone's had a peaceful night!

periody pains over night for me... That's a sign of pre-labour right? Wondering if i should stay close to home or risk going shopping wirh mum and sis... It's be just my luck that i give birth stuck in traffic on the Dartford Bridge

L1ttleMissGiggles · 07/02/2015 08:06

Thanks blank will give that a go later. I've had the worst heartburn all night. Felt like it would never budge no matter what I took. Has eased this morning thankfully but I am shattered now. Have to get up for shopping delivery then back to bed I think. Hope everyone else had a better night. 10 days til due date! X

sandulacek · 07/02/2015 08:48

Morning all!

Good to hear from you new mummies...didn't even know they go on their tummies so early #ftm

Not too bad night here, 10 more sleeps!

tweety I'm booked for 16th & pre op for 13th. Here the pre op is with a mw in the hospital, to go through things, take bloods and MRSA screen (so very similar to whyO ). As I've seen this mw throughout my pregnancy at our numerous scans I have some silly practical questions to ask her. Also as whyO said they do spinal for elcs. There is a website labourpains.com (I think ) giving difference. But whyO summed it up nicely Smile

Bangles the Dartford crossing is getting more expensive so might be worth getting a free life pass for lo if you give the birth in the traffic Grin. Well unless you heading to Bluewater...pick a good shop Wink. Sorry for joking...

BanglesSpangles · 07/02/2015 08:56

Hahaha sand that is such a good idea- that crossing is ludicrously expensive these days!

Katsand · 07/02/2015 13:38

Congratulations to all new mums.
I am just confused about my signs of labour. You would think that this being #3 I would know the drill but my body keeps messing about with me. Thursday 6pm I started having really strong braxton like contractions. Pain free but really tight so I would get breathless. They lasted 60-90 seconds and came every 3.5 -4 minutes. This went on until 10.30pm so I was sure this was it!!! Baby must be on his way. But at 10.30pm it just stopped!!! Since then I only been having occasional braxtons like expected. So frustration. I'm due on Tuesday so we see what will happen :-)

Bangonthedoor · 07/02/2015 14:34

Oh I'm having the same thing katsand, it's so frustrating isn't it?! This is no.2 for me and I'm none the wiser about early labour! I've been having on/off period pains, Braxton hicks and lower backache since Wednesday evening. The worst being yesterday and this morning. For a couple of hours first thing today I really thought "this is it" as the pains were really starting to make me wince. Then it all just went away Hmm why does it do that?! I'm technically over due now and thought maybe a walk around Tescos would be enough to bring it on but nothing.
