I had some god awful fanny daggers earlier, brought a tear to my eye.
People at school have commented on my waddle, try to hide it but fanny daggers kick in if I don't!
Went for a four mile walk this morning, determined to not go over due. Last day at work tomorrow Grin

geeky glad I'm not the only one buying witch hazel!

Had 38w mW appointment yesterday (well, 38+2) and I'd not seen that mW before...she was rubbish!! Had to study my own notes as she didn't give up info unless I dragged it out of her!

In the relation to brim box, she put 'eng' which after a Google to nct says engaged but I'm not sure if that means 3/5 or fully engaged. Praying its not long left, hormonal wreck! My top of bumps mega sore too, I had rib flare :(

Evening ladies (and babies!!). Have been lax in posting, but have been lurking around a bit (too lazy to type!). I've had an interesting last couple of weeks. Horrendous BH two weeks ago following a very long 13 hour long day at work (parents' evening) that was so bad I rang my mum!
Since then had to stop working 2 weeks earlier (so have lost out on 3 weeks pay at end of mat leave!) as was getting depressed and ill at work with the stress and the diabetes and the pressure of handing it all over to my cover. Plus my cankles were getting worse and my sugars would then go loopy. And baby's head is apparently very very engaged!. So MW told me to stop last week. And tbh I am very glad.
Since then, had another scan and have got an appointment to be induced on the 21st. That's if baby doesn't arrive before then!
Today saw the diabetes doctor, who was pleased with my sugars, but is now concerned that baby isn't growing enough and that I'm losing weight every week. (Well I'm not gaining any at all/ sometimes losing a few kg a week, but have stayed around the same weight since before xmas and baby is only gaining slightly every week). Hmm I did tell her that I'm starving all the time and craving sugar badly. So I've got to have ANOTHER scan next week! My mum reckons that I should eat more cake!

However, silver lining - get to see baby again and mat leave has meant my insomnia is more manageable as I can have lie ins and naps whenever I want. I never want to go back to work again (she says now...) Grin

Oh and to top it all off, went to John Lewis to get a nursing bra, after the non-wire fiasco of Debenhams and Markses (where I pretty much got laughed out of the shop for even contemplating that they would sell a larger size). Lovely ladies as per, but the bra that I came away with was comedy size and fugly. But it will hopefully be a good fit when/if I get milk. why oh why do they think that women with redunculous mamaries want granny bras?

Bangonthedoor · 05/02/2015 20:17

Hello again lancashire Smile sounds like you've been working very hard! Enjoy this time to chill out now Brew

Just had a moment I found hilarious - after our talk earlier in the week about becoming messy eaters. I was just sat on the sofa eating dinner with DP sat on the floor eating his in front of me. I kept dropping my sloppy pasta either off my fork or out my mouth Blush anyway I didn't realise it was spitting all over DP's back until he asked me if I was throwing things at him Grin actually couldn't stop laughing, definitely gave me the laugh I needed! Of course I denied it Wink

Memphisbelly · 05/02/2015 20:32

Lancashire sounds like it is a good thing you have now finished work, sounds bloody stressful for you in last few weeks!

Bang that made me laugh your dh will have pasta sauce on his back with no ides how it got there Grin

Looks like we wont have boiler until last week, dh is so laid back and as we get about 60 seconds of hot water before it cuts off he thinks its ok to shower in but had hv yesterday and mw for final app today and they both said due to my stitches popping I still need daily baths to soak them, missed yesterday and just had a 60 second shower and they were sore today. Dh doesn't get that its annoying driving to my mums to have a bath and have to get dressed and back out in cold to come home.

Baby is lovely, have enjoyed lack of visitors this week, his jaundice has now gone and hv Has told me to swap him formula as he has been constipated....dh back at work monday....will have to start helping with night feeds then Confused

tweety89 · 05/02/2015 20:38

Haha bang! Just take his pyjamas in the morning and put them straight to the washing machine! Wink

We all have a nasty cough/cold in the house but (as expected) DP is behaving like he's on the death bed (must be the man flu, there's no other explanation...) [eyerolling]

Btw, I saw one of the consultants today and asked her whether I'm allowed to have sex and until when (in case it causes pre-term labour -I don't want this to happen as I've got my date now) and she told me, to have lots of sex and that's fine...Hmm. I thought that we're supposed to have sex when we want the baby to come out, right?

LancashireTea · 05/02/2015 20:51

My mum keeps asking me if I've had any sex. She told OH to do it whether he wants to or not, she's impatient and wants her grandchild out! Think I will stick with the mass amount of pineapple that I've been sneaking eating when my sugars are low. (which they normally are if white carbs are avoided)

GeekyHybrid · 05/02/2015 21:10

Thanks bang, cheered me up knowing others are in the messy eating club. bella I'm with you on the sore / bruised top of bump, LO seems to love pressing the same spots. Lancs the bigger bra thing is so annoying, just because support is required doesn't mean it has to look practical!

Tweety I've read and been told by several mw's that semen contains, I think off the top of my head, oxytocin which is the hormone they replicate when they start induction with a pessary. OH came with me to me appointment yesterday and blushed rather when the mw advised us to go home and dtd!

Memphis I'd be well grumpy not being able to have a hot bath, and that's without stitches and what not to look after.

I've spent the day putting a bookcase together and shifting boxes of books out of the spare room - trying to create some room in there. OH started sorting out one of the cupboards. Like the spare room things had just been thrown in to get them out of the way but now need to start getting some order so that it all fits. I've realised how much we had stored in the now nursery. We're so disorganised - but got away with it before. Hey ho, I'm sure we'll get the spare room sorted at some point! :-S

Geeky yes I also love a bath, luckily mums bathroom is gorgeous and her bath is very deep......and she has the best bath products but driving home in cold after a lovely bath sucks. Also nice to have a bath where my belly isn't freezing now it fits under the water Grin

Minichuch · 05/02/2015 21:52

Omg bang that made me laugh with the pasta sauce it hurt my staples

Good luck to everyone having induction/elcs/contractions

lo is in scbu so just sit and stare at him - really weird thinking that wasn't expecting to see him for another month - done my first nappy today although I did put it on back to front to start with - can tell I'm a ftm and a bit clueless at times lol ??

BanglesSpangles · 05/02/2015 21:57

Haha bang excellent work

Dh came in with the message from his nan that i should have stopped driving by now. Because my mind will be on other things, apparently! Thankfully he didnt believe her either- just dutifully passed on the message :D

Oh, and my chocolate eclairs were rubbish, by the way- i shall be buying them next time! I did however, make a very successful cot mobile, and bought myself an 'i can wear normal clothes again' outfit for my triumphant return to non-elasticated clothes and for these reasons im chalking today up as an overall win

BanglesSpangles · 05/02/2015 22:01

Aah mini, i did that on the first nappy i put on too- my niece was not impressed!

Is all well? Are you being given any idea on when bub might be able to come out of scbu, or is it too early to know yet?

Memphisbelly · 05/02/2015 22:14

Mini hope you are all ok and he is out of scbu soon. How are you recovering?

Minichuch · 05/02/2015 22:29

I'm doing surprisingly well - had emcs at 8pm tues, was out of bed and dressed for 7.30am yest with a bit of walking/shuffling but mainly in a chair to get around then today I've given up on the chair and gone solo - it's tender when move about but not as bad as I thought

I can stay in as long as he's in scbu but going to go home on sat, he's holding his own hasn't needed oxygen or incubator at all just need to settle his blood sugars other than that he's really good - they reckon he should be home within 10-12 days - fingers crossed it might be sooner

Memphisbelly · 05/02/2015 22:45

Mini that is fantastic! Bet you will be counting down the days until you are both home.

jenmcspen · 05/02/2015 23:29

Mini glad to hear you are recovering quickly and that little mini is doing so well too. You obviously have a tough little cookie there Grin

Cookie1831 · 06/02/2015 02:30

Had 38 wk check up yday..all good! I had BH all day yday but I guess that's normal for this stage! My female work colleagues are throwing me a baby shower later. I wonder will it begin to feel real then?!

Wish I could sleep....!!
