Hope you get some answers alien

stuffthenonsense · 05/02/2015 16:07

Tallalime how exciting! Do you have other children or are you going into it 'cold'? Alien try not to worry it may well be nothing but your body saying to rest just now. Sit down. Have a break.

alien11 · 05/02/2015 16:11

It's impossible for me to relax ??running around after dd

Choccyhobnob · 05/02/2015 16:28

So sorry to hear that elsa Sad

Oh wow Talla that is so exciting, have to admit I was relived to just see the one bean yesterday though Grin

Whatabout · 05/02/2015 16:34

Soon be bedtime Alien. As has been said, spotting can be perfectly normal, isn't it something like 1 in 4 have some bleeding in pregnancy? Try not to worry overly, it is nothing you have done wrong.

shinjuku09 · 05/02/2015 17:11

Elsa I'm so sorry to hear that xx

shinjuku09 · 05/02/2015 17:12

Do hope all is ok Alien.

How amazing, Tall!

Chuch21 · 05/02/2015 17:20

Alien I've been having spotting and cramps on and off for the last few days... Doc won't refer me for an early scan until 7 days of bleeding (unless it's heavy), do you know if this is around the time your period would be due? We're probably past implantation now but apparently your body can still think it's in it's cycle giving you period-like symptoms... If that makes sense?!

Wow tallime! congrats!

So sorry elsa crossing my fingers Flowers

Cornberry · 05/02/2015 17:21

Sorry to hear your news elsa Flowers
talla well jel. Wish I was having twins to make this sickness twice as fruitful!
butterfly I really hope you improve for your exam and holidays. I'm so sorry it's so miserable for you. I feel your pain. I can literally not make one plan right now. My mum keeps coming over and trying to get me to come shopping because the fresh air will do me good and I keep having to explain that going to the bathroom is hard enough :( the doctor gave me Promethazine which I was reluctant to take but when I got desperate around 8 weeks I took one which definitely took the sting out but made me really dozey. The prescription says up to four a day but I've only taken one on five occasions becaue it seems each time the effect is a bit different. The last two times it left me feeling terrible hello I don't think I will take it again. I want to ask the doctor to prescribe me something different to see if it agrees with me better, but I don't have the energy at the moment! Are you able to defer your exam?

Jessica32 · 05/02/2015 17:30

I'm sorry Elsa, crossing my fingers for you.

Alien, my friend had several lots of bleeding during her pregnancy up to about 20 weeks. The first was so early she thought it was her period and didn't realise she was pregnant. She thought it was lighter than usual but was more than spotting and lasted 7 days. Her baby was fine and is now a healthy 3 yr old. I won't say don't worry as we all would but thought this might make you feel better.

Talla, that's amazing news, congratulations.

Jessica32 · 05/02/2015 17:34

Those of you who've had babies before, do you think over or under bump maternity jeans are best?
Over look more comfy but maybe under can be worn earlier? Given I'm so bloated!

sebsmummy1 · 05/02/2015 17:40

Jessica I wore over the bump maternity jeans from H&M and they were great. I also wore my normal jeans with a bump band and that worked really nicely too.

Whatabout · 05/02/2015 17:43

For now just buy one size up? You will be grateful for them afterwards when you can't yet get back in your jeans. I didn't get on with either, I'm quite short so just didn't work.

Bump bands and long tops are awesome for the bloat stage.

My issue is work wear. I will be on a stand at a conference in Vienna for four days at the start of March. I fly out day after my scan. I don't want to wear maternity clothes till I know all is well. I also am not hugely sure I have maternity conference attire! I might have to dash to m&p for suitable stuff on the way to Heathrow!

MyNameIsSuz · 05/02/2015 17:51

Whatabout, could you get away with a black or navy jersey dress and a jacket? I'm having the same issue!

itssangriaoclock · 05/02/2015 17:57

So sorry Elsa, why have they said it might not be viable? What did they see

Wow Twins that's a shock tallia

I've got my scan date 4 march but just waiting for mw booking appt and my notes to be sent to me

stuffthenonsense · 05/02/2015 17:57

Over! Definitely. The under bump ones become pretty painful in the last month when that head sits itself right where the under bump band sits.

Whatabout · 05/02/2015 18:22

suz my stomach is a yucky bloated mess so I think I'll need a sucky in slip. Need to see which of my jackets will fit across my boobs...

GoooRooo · 05/02/2015 18:26

Elsa I'm so sorry :(

Tall congratulations! I would love twins!

Kittykitty05 · 05/02/2015 18:28

Finally got to arrange a booking app today as they had lost my paperwork, surprise surprise! Seeing them next week when I'll be 11 weeks and they hope to get me a 12 week scan sorted.
Hopefully if I do it right I'll attach my scan pic from this week, there is a little leg waving about to the left!

alien11 · 05/02/2015 18:30

I preferred under the bump jeans and lived in a pair of cropped ones last time I was pregnant.

How many of you have had scans @7 weeks? Only spotting stopped but I am going to book an early scan to ease my worrying a bit. Just wondered what to expect scan wise & image wise
Thanks for all your kind words x

TerrysNo3 · 05/02/2015 18:31

I prefer under the bump jeans rather than over, I always found the over ones needed hoiking up all the time. The under the bump ones I get just have a stretchy bit where the pockets go, i got some from h&m a couple of weeks ago and they are super comfy.

Jessica32 · 05/02/2015 18:35

Thanks everyone for the jeans advice.

Alien, having a scan sounds like a good idea. All the very beat of luck.

Kittykitty05 · 05/02/2015 18:45

alien hope all is okay with you, fingers crossed no more spotting, can be very normal but worrying nevertheless. I'd def look at getting a scan done as you have your hols before your main scan don't you?

Also I've always been an over bump girl, but have just got some under ones so will see how they go! Just been told by my sis I'm 'bulging', not sure how I'm going to hide it for 2-3 more weeks, most of my normal wardrobe is already redundant!

GoooRooo · 05/02/2015 18:48

I'm an over the bump girl. Under the bump ones always felt like they were going to fall down.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 05/02/2015 18:49

Feeling a little more relaxed now. There's nothing I can do about the outcome of the scan anyway, this really is a case of what will be will be. I've survived bad news before with the help of DH, we can do it again if we need to!
Although, if positive thoughts could be sent towards Colchester Hospital 3pm tomorrow, that would be great!
