Bowel bother? Yes. Just struggling through. Bigger problem is tiredness. Just finished first of 5 double lessons today and I need a nap.

ISolemnlySwearImUptoNoGood · 02/02/2015 10:12

Hi all, I'm new here! Been hovering since I noticed the thread and thought I'd say a quick hello

I'm 26, currently 6+2 with baby #5. I have to see the nurse tomorrow to get my pregnancy confirmed, our gp doesnt allow self referrals and I've booked an early scan for Saturday. So nervous!

Mummyboo30 · 02/02/2015 10:29

Welcome, Solemnly, I'm guessing you're a Potterhead? Smile

Feeling ok today, still minimal symptoms, although the exhaustion has not let up yet, and my lower tummy feels really FULL. (Like you know AF is about to start and it's going to be a bad one.)
Boobs are ok today, hoping that it's all just a sign that the placenta has taken over, rather than anything sinister.

ISolemnlySwearImUptoNoGood · 02/02/2015 10:37

Thank you Mummyboo

Guilty as charged I'm afraid Grin

I'm very much like you, full tum feeling, very rumbly all the time as well, not hunger though, more like wind Blush
My main symptoms are huge boobs, which I'm actually quite enjoying as I've never really had boobs with any of the others! A very sensitive nose and a blood taste in my mouth all the time.

Night sweating has been keeping me awake too.

alien11 · 02/02/2015 10:47

Am I right in thinking we shouldn't be eating more than normal calories until late in pregnancy? How is that possible when constantly hungry?!
I've had one simple brekkie of cereal and a boiled egg and toast and now I'm absolutely starving!

Treaclepie19 · 02/02/2015 11:08

Can i ask what everyone's doing about eggs?
I know if they're lion stamped it should be fine but im still worrying.
I do love a runny yolk.

Boodlymummy · 02/02/2015 11:14

Steadily increasing nausea here at 6+5, though still not awful. This morning on way to work anything even very slightly gross made me wretch - normal not-stinky rubbish overflowing from a bin, dandruff on the bus passenger in front, and a little dog's perfectly innocent bum!

ISolemnlySwearImUptoNoGood · 02/02/2015 11:21

Alien - if you're hungry, eat! Try some fruit as a snack instead of being tempted by tea and biscuits or a choccy bar!

Treacle - unfortunately it is no runny eggs.

Having said that I had a runny fried egg on toast at the weekend, totally forgot about being pregnant! Confused

nutelladipper · 02/02/2015 11:29

Morning all,

I'm still having runny eggs!! i've never been poorly from an egg so i'm confident i wont be now. To be honest i've never been very good at following guidelines on the food tut tut. I eat anything i want but only if its from a trusted source!

I'm 11 weeks tomorrow - eeeek! Scan 2 weeks today.

I've just realised my boss is on annual leave the week of my scan. So do i tell him before or do i wait for the following week? I'm worried about the powers on facebook etc will mean word will get out before i see him. Previous pregnancies i was friends with my last boss so i told her early and then i was self employed with my second pregnancy.

What would you do?

x

TheMidnightHour · 02/02/2015 11:35

Hello again! Gosh this thread moves quickly.

Had a house warming at the weekend (been planned since before BFP) and thought I'd have to deploy all sorts of alcohol avoidance strategies - really didn't though, as hardly anyone was drinking! Hmm Perils of being over 30 and out in the sticks so everyone had to drive, I guess. Good cover for me!

Booking in with the midwife this week, so hopefully everything is still OK.

StrawberryCheese · 02/02/2015 11:36

nutella could you ask friends to keep it off facebook until you have told your boss?

StrawberryCheese · 02/02/2015 11:43

haveteawillsurvive I'm in Edinburgh too Grin have to wait another 4 weeks until my booking in though.

Feeling queasy this morning, drinking ginger tea and have managed to eat a hot cross bun but not fit for much else. I don't work Mondays in case you all think I'm lazy!

Jackieharris · 02/02/2015 11:45

The risk from runny eggs is salmonella but lion stamped eggs are vaccinated so safe. So it is safe in pregnancy to have runny lion stamped eggs.

I'm finding banana bread a good cure for nausea.

And for some reason I can't stomach sugar in my tea anymore!

I think the mood hormones are starting to hit me now. I just got overly upset when someone emptied my boiled kettle water into the sink when I'd gone to the toilet while it was boiling.

alien11 · 02/02/2015 11:47

Treacle I've just started hard boiling eggs . Mine aren't lion stamped as from friends chickens. This worried me but fortunately it's fine Smile
Yes I'm trying to eat fruit but I am eating so so so much!

mrsdos · 02/02/2015 12:15

Hello All
We have visited the EPU this mornin for a scan after last weeks bleed. Saw the baby wriggling about and a flickering heartbeat Grin been measured at 10+1 with an edd of 30th Aug, the pic was nice and clear so will try to upload when on my laptop later. After the scan I went and treated myself to some new wire free bras - hello happy boobs Grin

Cornberry · 02/02/2015 12:21

shin you have my utmost sympathy. I'm into my fourth week bed bound by sickness and it's horrendous. I cannot imagine how I could manage this with a little one running around. Have already told my OH we might have to have just the one because I don't think I can do this again! Hopefully it's yiur cold making it worse. Drink lots of fluids :)

shinjuku09 · 02/02/2015 12:37

Thanks Dela and Cornberry! Really hope you feel better soon too Cornberry. Yes am really hoping once this terrible cough has gone it will be more manageable. Mil has saved the day and is coming to stay for few days! Have told some friends am really suffering and they've offered to help when she goes home. A big relief!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 02/02/2015 12:45

Thanks everyone for all the tips about blood tests. I think I'll see how I go with the first one and then take it from there. Sounds stupid but I find it better if I have something in my mouth to sort of, well, bite down on! Hello scarf!

Sorry so many of you are feeling rotten - touch wood I seem to be doing OK but I'm deeply suspicious of this and waiting for sickness to descend.

I'm being very good about food - no yummy cheese, no antipasti unless it's been frozen, eating my meat well done (YUK!) and even reigning in my sushi eating unless I can guarantee it's been frozen (I normally have this at least 3 times a week but probably only once now). However, I am NOT giving up on my runny eggs. Hurrah for Lion stamped! Tonight's dinner is a warm black pudding salad with poached egg.

Have been given all my notes, just need to wait for midwife to call to arrange booking in appointment, doctor is going to speak to hospital and arrange my scan. All beginning to happen!

Oh...am I right in thinking that I should avoid putting my details on any of that 'Emma's Diary' stuff unless I want endless post and emails for the next year? I note they don't have an opt out!

DeladionInch · 02/02/2015 13:09

4 slices of Marmite toast with an entire tin of tomatoes is a perfectly reasonable lunch, right?

alien11 · 02/02/2015 13:13

-mrsdos that's great! I'm getting tempted to having a scan at 10 weeks days before i go skiing. Thinking I may believe it then!?

shinjuku09 · 02/02/2015 13:16

Sauv yup diarrhoea most morns alternating with constipation. Love first trimester!

monkeymoonpig · 02/02/2015 13:17

Any clues on how you get the Medical Exemption Certificate nowadays? Last time i was preg the midwife filled out the form, but ive been told today that the GP does it now?? Called surgery but first non-urgent appt is week tomorrow :-( thankfully Boots believe me that its being sorted and let me have my prescription without charging

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 02/02/2015 13:23

monkey GP gave me the form today to fill in and then I left it with him to do the rest and send off. Think your midwife can also do it so it depends on whether you see anyone before your booking in appt.

sebsmummy1 · 02/02/2015 13:33

Yes I got my form from my midwife at booking in appointment.

So delighted to hear you had a good scan mrsdos

monkeymoonpig · 02/02/2015 13:54

I haf booking in appt 3 wks ago and no form to complete Confused oh well, will have to ask gp next week
