Hello, room for one more? I am 5 weeks and 6 days today, was sent home from work yesterday as had bad bout of nausea and still feeling the same today with the added bonus of some acid reflux!!

Saw gp beginning of last week as had water infection and filled in form to register with midwife and have been assured they will ring me either today or Monday with my booking appointment details

Have booked an early scan which I will be having at what I assume is 7+4 before I drive myself Insane as despite plenty of symptoms it still doesn't feel real :/

Took another clear blue digi last night which said 3+ and I now vow not to POAS anymore :)

thecrab · 30/01/2015 10:58

is your body temperature supposed to rise in pregnancy? had the worst night sleep because I was sooo hot despite the heating not being on!

so happy to see scan pictures, going to book my 8 week scan in a couple weeks as my MW is due a visit and just want to make sure everything is fine.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 30/01/2015 11:04

I don't know if it's supposed to - but I'm struggling to sleep as I'm too hot - but spend most of the day too cold!

Whatabout · 30/01/2015 11:11

I keep waking very early like 4am and unable to get back to sleep. Hot and uncomfortable and worrying.

Snowflake15 · 30/01/2015 11:22

I keep waking at 4am needing a wee!!

Whatabout · 30/01/2015 11:40

Midwife coming to do booking in on Sunday at 1pm with a student. Going to have to make sure my 21 month old is knackered and napping!

gennibugs · 30/01/2015 11:43

Morning all

I am very jealous of all your booking in appointments and scans. I've been told I won't get my booking date in until 8 weeks and the appointment won't be until I'm 10 weeks at the earliest which I assume is ok? My GPs are so rubbish, I had to self refer as they refused to even see me and just keep worrying perhaps the email didn't sent etc. paranoia I know

Sorry to all those feeling rough - must be horrible Thanks

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 30/01/2015 11:44

I too spend all day freezing cold then boiling hot in bed all night. Ive no happy medium with my temperature at all.
Currently sat in work with my coat and scarf still on from 7:30 this morning and a heater behind me!
Could do with a nice hot Brew but cant face one as Ive gone off tea. haha

gennibugs · 30/01/2015 11:48

Oh I meant to ask - those of you having private early scans - how many weeks were you? I can't decide whether to go at 8 or 9 weeks..

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 30/01/2015 11:56

I went at 7+1 Genni and saw good strong hearbeat, baby and fetal pole but Im wishing I had gone around 9 weeks.
I need another scan now to reassure me again inbetween that one and my 12 week scan. going to cost me a fortune.

Treaclepie19 · 30/01/2015 11:59

I'd say 8 weeks genni, only because that's less time to wait now.
I'd be going crazy by that point.
Saying that, I don't know how I'm going to manage 6 weeks til my next scan :p
If I ever get one booked as midwife still hasn't been in touch.

Allypin · 30/01/2015 12:20

Yeah 12 week scan booked for 17th feb not too long to wait now :-)

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 30/01/2015 12:21

Mines booked for Tuesday evening genni as I should be just over 8 weeks by then. Wanted to wait till then as hopefully there will be a little heartbeat clear to see and if everything is on track sizewise I think that means your statistically up to 98% of pregnancy continuing. However I know the stats mean nothing if you are the 'one' in a million so will likely leave as nervous as I go in!

gennibugs · 30/01/2015 12:25

Thanks ladies. I've just rung and booked for 14 Feb. I'll be 8 weeks exactly eeeeek. The lady said 8 weeks should be fine. It will be the best valentines day ever if everything is ok.

Hare5260 · 30/01/2015 12:26

Genni I had an early private scan at 6 weeks because I was convinced my pregnancy was ectopic, though baby seemed perfect- we even saw the heartbeat. Mine is an IVF pregnancy and the clinic we are being looked after at do 8 week scans, that also was perfect. I have a 10-week scan next week then my NHS scan on 17/02/15' assuming everything is ok at the 10-week scan.
Having the early scans have helped reassure me, but I'm sure I won't be completely reassured until I can feel baby moving!! FWIW, the private scans cost £70 with a 3d view as well. Smile

gennibugs · 30/01/2015 12:32

Thank you hare that is good to know. I'm glad everything seems to be progressing ok for you so far and that you are getting scans to help ease your worries a little.
£70 is a great price too.

duckbilled · 30/01/2015 12:41

I am also freezing all day and then thrust in to hellish heat at night Confused
I have a private scan booked for the 14th too, I will be 10+6 according to the midwife but I think more like 9 weeks.

sebsmummy1 · 30/01/2015 13:23

My 12 week scan date is through, 19th February, just after my birthday Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 30/01/2015 13:37

OhGod! Totally and completely bloated. So uncomfortable.

Mummyboo30 · 30/01/2015 13:59

Everyone feeling hot at night, it's because of the progesterone, it raises your basal body temperature. You end up with a higher normal temperature because of the increased hormones.
(I only know because I was chatting because my BFP!)
I'd guess that cold spots in the day might be drops in blood sugar? I find I get freezing when I'm feeling I need a nap. (like now!)

duckbilled · 30/01/2015 14:30

Ahhhh thanks mummy that makes sense!

Lauramum23 · 30/01/2015 14:49

Funnily enough I was totally too hot last night sweating like a pig and dreaming!
Don't feel pregnant at all today no symptoms really. It's weird isn't it!? I haven't done a test for a while. But I suppose it's still early days and maybe the symptoms will kick in later?? I'm 5+2 so not that far really!!

misssmilla1 · 30/01/2015 16:18

Far too hot last night and lots of vivid dreams about killing people with wood bbq skewers covered in glue - wtf Confused I've also got terrible burps - luckily the nausea subsides every time I burp, but I am burping a LOT and they're not quiet. I can recommend eating crystallised ginger for nausea and burping - I have about 20 minutes of calm after eating it and then it all starts again

Lauramum23 · 30/01/2015 16:43

I burp a lot anyway!
I take it all back what I said I feel like I've hit a brick wall! Just had to have a lil nap, I felt fine before?? Hey ho x

Whatabout · 30/01/2015 16:53

Went for lunch with my boss and spent most of it needing to poop! Holding in my wind hurt so much. I think I might need to tell him soon, my whole team are jumping ship it seems and he needs to recruit a female so they can do my work that cannot be done by a male (involves mammography). Really want to wait till I've had a scan but that might be after we've spent five days together at a conference in Vienna.
