dp didn't like me telling John third is goes we have found ourselves in this position from his ' innocently provided boobie massages'

I feel like a whale today!!

MrsEvansAlmost · 29/01/2015 15:39

and that makes no sense! I meant to say

my dp doesn't like it when I tell him that's how we got pg in the first place from all the innocent boobie massages!

I've had some spotting today which has really shaken me up. Really light but I've also had cramps. Really worried but I'm off on holiday on Saturday and wasn't planning on going to the doctor until I get back! Is a bit of spotting normal?

I'm really trying to eat super healthily and up the exercise (I already do quite a bit) as I'm worried the doctor or midwife will tell me off for being a bit overweight, I'm only a size 14 but overweight according to bmi. Is that something they're likely to have a go at me about?

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 29/01/2015 19:45

Try not to worry about the spotting. Just keep an eye on it and try to get rest xx

As for your BMI, don't worry! In my first booking in, I had a BMI of about 37.5 (it's now 25.5) and all the midwife said was to keep weight gain to a minimum (~15-20 lb). No-one ever told me off.

Marmite27 · 29/01/2015 20:13

I just got a BFP at 12 DPO, with 5pm wee on an IC - a rather surprising strong line too.

DH rifled through the calendar, and it looks like October :)

I'm 34 and this will be my first.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 29/01/2015 20:22

Congrats Marmite! Grin

shieldbug · 29/01/2015 20:26

Anna try not to overdo it on the exercise front- light exercise may be better. Check with your gp whenever you get back maybe? I don't think they will tell you off; after all, a size 14 really isn't particularly large. I think spotting is fine as long as there's not masses, but you could try an out of hours dr if worried? Just a thought, may not be necessary.

shieldbug · 29/01/2015 20:28

sorry anna just noticed- there's some MN advice about exercise and pg- maybe check that out. As a hopeless non-exerciser I hadn't realised it was there before.

welcome marmite hope you will find us all friendly! Love the name btw.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 29/01/2015 20:43

Can I join? Just got my BFP today after being in deliberate denial for the past week. I should be 5 weeks today (did ovulation scans so know fairly accurately) due date should be 1st October if I've calculated right.

After a first ever BFP after 10 years of trying last year and then a very early miscarriage in September, I am so anxious, plan to get HCG bloods done tomorrow and hopefully that will reassure me but so many cramps! and it was just the same last time so I am not certain this will work out.

Mumwannabe82 · 29/01/2015 21:09

congratulations Marmite, the bus have been waiting ages for you to confirm it Grin Grin Grin

Mumwannabe82 · 29/01/2015 21:11

congrats to you too disillusioned, hope the little bean sticks for you xx

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 29/01/2015 22:12

Congrats and fingers crossed disillusioned!

Cineraria · 29/01/2015 22:28

Congratulations to all the new people. Wishing you all good luck! I will get to work adding you all to the stats sheet.

Anna, if you are worried contact your GP and if they do comment on your weight not being ideal just tell them about your new healthy eating and exercise routine; they will be pleased you have already started! Apologies for long story here but maybe it will help. I have been having slight spotting this week whenever I walk to or from work (just over a mile), although it gets better when I'm sitting still. I called the surgery and asked the receptionist if one of the doctors would call me back to discuss whether I should come in sooner than my scheduled appointment on Monday. I thought they would just say to call back if it got worse but they took it more seriously than I'd expected, said that the GP wouldn't be able to do anything and referred me to the Early Pregnancy unit at the hospital who asked me to come in this morning to be checked.

They scanned and saw the gestational sac in the right place and at the right size (5+2 days, which matches my ovulation date rather than LMP date) and I can't tell you the relief I felt. They want me to go back in two weeks when they should be able to see the baby too and check for any cervix irritation. At no point did they make me feel I'd wasted their time, so I would say to anyone: definitely ask if you are feeling worried!

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 29/01/2015 22:31

Glad everything appears to be OK, Cine. Fingers crossed for the spotting to stop altogether.

Very glad you were treated well and quickly.

SarahSt28 · 29/01/2015 22:43

October 2015 is really filling up!

Thanks for doing the stats sheet Cineraria, although I've just realised I didn't give hardly any information when I introduced myself. I'm 28, live in East Sussex and this is my first pregnancy and will be my first child if everything sticks and goes to plan.

Really pleased all seems well with you Cineraria, I hope anyone else with spotting will be the same. X x

mustbemad71 · 29/01/2015 22:48

Hope you are OK Cine - the scan must have been reassuring.

Anna hope you are doing ok too.

Disillusioned congrats and welcome!

Marmite - hurrah! Lovely to see another BFP from the Jan bus - did you finally cave under pressure from the girlies to POAS?!

MrsE - thanks for the advice re fibroids. I'm assuming you had a normal VB last time and the fibroid caused no issues with delivery? Mine is slap bang on top of my uterus. I'm already worried about the pressure on my poor squashed bladder! Confused

mustbemad71 · 29/01/2015 22:49

Sorry last comment was for Shield not MrsE!

Cineraria · 29/01/2015 22:53

Thanks Angus. I hope so too. I didn't have spotting the first time, so was expecting the worst.

Cineraria · 29/01/2015 22:59

Thanks Sarah and MustbeMad too.

I just thought: where is Boyle who started the thread? She hasn't been on for ages. Hope she is ok too.

AnnaBegins · 29/01/2015 23:10

Thank you Angus and shield, well so much for rest and light exercise! went climbing tonight! But spotting seems to have slowed Smile I climb weekly anyway so pretty normal amount of exercise for me. And Cineraria so pleased to hear all was well for you!

Congrats to all the newbies!

Linguaphile · 29/01/2015 23:17

Wow, lots of new BFPs, congrats!

Good story about the scan, Cine! Must be a relief. :) My scan will be at 5+3 so hopefully they'll be able to see the sac or sacs growing well. As I'm too cheap skint to splash out on digis, I've been tracking my lines on Amazon's 15/£2 cheapies to make sure they are getting darker. Was a bit concerned as they didn't seem to be darkening much, but then this morning it was suuuuper dark... so, all in all, reassuring.

I'm vacuuming the food out of our cupboards this week. Partially because I am suddenly starving, partially because I feel like this week may be my 'last supper' before the morning sickness hits. Trying to get life admin done now so I don't have to do it whilst deathly ill.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 29/01/2015 23:19

Exciting, Ling!

I am also starving. I had to pinterest healthy snacks to keep myself on track!

Cineraria · 29/01/2015 23:56

Glad you're ok now, Anna. I'm impressed by the climbing!

Yes, I was amazed what they can see so early, Ling. The scan just shows a dark empty patch of fluid but they could tell everything was ok, dated it exactly and even knew that it contains 5mls of fluid and came from my right ovary! I was looking at my teaspoon measure at home and thinking that it's actually much more than I expected.

Glad to hear your tests are darkening and hope you get a nice view of the sac/s or even the baby/ies on your scan.

mustbemad71 · 30/01/2015 08:16

I'm spotting bright red blood this morning. Not looking good. Hmm

Mumwannabe82 · 30/01/2015 08:35

mustbemad, get yourself to the Dr today so he can refer you xxx
