so I've had an odd day, picked up a second hand pram today and have been fiddling about with it to make sure its all OK and it suddenly hit me... I'm going to have a babyGrin . I'm so excited! I don't know how many times I've said to the dog today oi did you know I'm pregnant.. poor dog. poor dp who has to put up with my exhausted state because I'm growing a tiny person in me!/so odd!! and then I thought ooohhh there's loads of ladies also growing small people in them too and got really excited for you guys too!!

I think its fair to say I've lost the plot!Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

MrsEvansAlmost · 11/02/2015 17:42

and yes I put the dog in the pram! I had yo make sure it could carry some weight! Wink Wink

crazypuglady · 11/02/2015 17:50

Ha ha MrsEvans that sounds like an ace day. I must admit we've only told the dog. He didn't seem very impressed tbh. Think he's worried about coming second in our affections.

Not too bloated but the tiniest thing is knackering me out. It's always been a thing with me that if I sleep in the day you know I must be ill. Clearly i should be changing that to ill or upduffed.

MrsD14 · 11/02/2015 18:12

Glad I'm not the only one who's shattered. Pretty much been on my feet for the last 12 hours, now so tired I could fall over! Queasy and stomach feels massively bloated!

How soon are you all telling family? I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow but not sure how long we could hide this! Boobs are huge and I keep wanting to nap - bit of a give away! Grin My mum won't notice but MIL will totally rumble me because she's got hopeful EVERY SINGLE MONTH since our wedding

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 11/02/2015 18:37

Think I'll try to hold out until 12 weeks. I need to see the scan and hear the heartbeat before I can bring myself to say it to anyone other than DH. And you lot, of course! Grin

Managed until then with DS, just think I'll need some more floaty tops...

batfish · 11/02/2015 19:17

So I had my scan today and there is a heartbeat! Was gobsmacked, was just expecting to see the sac. It was the weirdest thing ever.

I'm apparently 5+5 and not 5+4 like I thought. Due 9th October! Got all excited as had read that heartbeat meant lower risk but apparently heartbeat at 6 weeks means 78% chance of pregnancy continuing, that doesn't sound very low risk! But in just another 2 weeks the chances will have increased to 98%, roll on 8 weeks!

Hubby was very sweet, was proud as anything holding his little scan pic and couldn't stop looking at it, I was out this evening and got home to find he has started a book to put the scan pics in.

Feeling much better after the scan but still very keen for another couple of weeks to pass!

Coolchic12 · 11/02/2015 19:20

Hi ladies, it's amazing how many of us are expecting in October and it's seems like we are all equally crazy haha!! I'm also feeling bloated and hungry often. I've also started to produce more saliva, oops tmi sorry;-)

Coolchic12 · 11/02/2015 19:25

Very good news Batfish, you both must be so excited and I'm guessing it's all becoming real now. So sweet of hubby! I'm 5+2 and so impatient, I'll book my early scan for next Friday, can't wait!

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire · 11/02/2015 19:37

I forgot how fast this thread moves! There's been all sorts of updates recently.

How lovely to Batfish seeing your little baby.

I'm bloated, exhausted and very nauseous. I'm just about managing in work but I'm just collapsing in a heap at home. The kids can tell something's up as I'm not normally so lazy but I just have such little energy.

Is anyone else having trouble with their, erm, bowels? I'm so bloated and feel quite 'full'. If that makes sense? I don't remember this last time round.

Please don't all disappear to the FB group, I don't want to be talking to myself Grin

Hotpotpie · 11/02/2015 19:48

Sounds amazing batfish

I'm in the bloated club as well I'm huuuuge!

Coolchic12 · 11/02/2015 19:54

The bloated club is growing fast! My bowels are function ok so far TheGirl thank god for that. I'm so bloated and windy though??. I'm not going anywhere, I'll be on this Thread till October if it all goes well.

Twinkletoes007 · 11/02/2015 19:57

Totally with you all on the bloating, gassy, constipated and feeling massive front. Am certainly not glowing!

AF was due today and didn't show up. Yay!! Are you all testing every few days just to check?

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire · 11/02/2015 20:08

In a very weird way I'm quite glad I'm not the only constipated and windy one! Tmi I'm not normally like that so it's quite different.

Twinkle a few people are testing regularly, just to reassure themselves. I know some are also using the tests with dates on to check the hcg levels are rising properly, so you wouldn't be alone in testing more than once.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 11/02/2015 20:09

Gosh, this thread is All about the Bloat Grin Me too!

Batfish that's so sweet of you husband! How lovely that it all went well.

I'll be sticking about TheGirl I'm in the FB group but prefer Mumsnet layout to FB as I like seeing all the comments in a row!

Still nice to have the support on FB too Smile

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire · 11/02/2015 20:10

Glad to hear you'll be sticking around til October CoolChic, it's quite reassuring discussing symptoms with people going through the same thing, especially when people in RL don't know yet

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire · 11/02/2015 20:11

X-post Lookslike.

Sorry wasn't trying to run down the FB group at all, it's a good idea and sensible for those who use FB more than MN

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 11/02/2015 20:13

Oh I know! Smile

I use MN more than FB too Grin

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 11/02/2015 21:06

Shit! I crashed the thread Blush

Hi everyone!
I'm staying on MN too - I'm on FB but not too sure about 'outing' myself yet.

Bat thats amazing news about your early scan, congrats!!

For those others who are considering an early scan, let me share my experience - its only a single data point and everyone is different, but hopefully will be useful for some of you.

I had a scan last week when I was 6+0. They could see a yolk sac, but no fetal pole or heartbeat (even with dildocam).
Today I had a scan and they dated me at 7+1. The embryo was clearly seen, 1cm long, and a lovely little fluttery heartbeat (also with dildocam).

So don't anyone get scared if you go for a scan at 5+5 and don't see anything - bat shows it can happen (and maybe if you go private they have more sensitive scanners - mine were both NHS) but not always.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 11/02/2015 21:20

I think I will have the dildocam on Fri. Thankfully it isn't as bad as it sounds Grin . I'll be 6+6 so hoping to see a heartbeat.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 11/02/2015 21:22

Dildocam is reeeaaaally not selling it to me!!

crazypuglady · 11/02/2015 21:25

Well, I was feeling like I was missing out on the early scan thing but now I've heard dildocam I think I can wait another 8 weeks Grin

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 11/02/2015 21:26

Grin if I remember rightly it's about the same level of comfort as a smear test!

MrsEvansAlmost · 11/02/2015 21:29

haha! dildocam! I'll have to remember not to call it that in front of the midwife!!
