hotpot try not to worry, these things are not an exact science. Try again later. If you can, don't drink for three hours after lunch then do one with your urine after that. One of the teats packages I read said that afternoon wee can give a better indication than fmu, despite what we're normally told...

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 10:46

Bringing a saying from the conception bus here hotpot, it ain't over til it's over. Stay positive, it could be any number of reasons.

I didn't know that about afternoon wee ibeka, but then again, I always thought you got pregnant the first time you had sex without contraception so looks like they lie to us about many things Grin

Twinkletoes007 · 08/02/2015 10:52

Hello, may I join? I'm nervously coming over from the Feb bus - got a BFP today. Was so shocked! I think this gives a due date of 22 October. This looks like a great thread. I will read back. Xx

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 10:54

Waves at twinkle

Hotpotpie · 08/02/2015 11:24

Thank you. I have a collection of tests I'm torturing myself! Tesco probably thinks There's a baby boom going on Blush I've got everything crossed that I'm wrong

catlady87 · 08/02/2015 11:25

Hi new ladies! Welcome.

I want to murder DH today. Don't know why. Just do.

catlady87 · 08/02/2015 11:26

Hotpot think positive. I'm sure everything is fine. There's still a line, that's what matters. X

hideandsqueak · 08/02/2015 12:01

Hello ladies from the feb bus!

hideandsqueak · 08/02/2015 12:03

The caffeine talk reminds me I need to get some decaf tea. I will allow myself the odd cup of normal tea but at least with decaf tea I can drink away and not have to count the cups! Especially at work... You can even get decaf earl grey. Lovely tea Smile

ibeka · 08/02/2015 12:15

Hello twinkle! from your erstwhile cycle twin Wink

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 12:34

Hello hideandsqueak how are you?

I've switched mostly to decaf recently anyway after spending the last 8 years drinking 4-6 cups of coffee a day so caffeine withdrawal isn't getting me! Was surprised to read green tea isn't always decaf! Need to check the box when I get home.

Cineraria · 08/02/2015 12:50

Congratulations to all the newcomers! I think I have added you all to the Stats Sheet now but do add your details if not.

Hotpot, hope you get a better result if you test again but if not, try not to worry. There could be all sorts of reasons to do with the test and you're urine that make it lighter. Maybe you were a bit dehydrated the last time you tested but this time you're not, for example.

I've been trying to avoid caffeine as much as possible since we started trying to conceive. I don't drink a lot of coffee but when I do, I like it really strong, so would probably be over the daily limit with just one cup! I also get terrible headaches if I have a cup one day and don't the next day, so it's easier not to have any. Fortunately, coffee and chocolate are really not tempting to me at all right now.

HettyB · 08/02/2015 13:00

hotpot don't lose hope - my second test the line was fainter than the first, sometimes the tests just have less dye in them.

Can you do a digital to see it in words?

Ca55andraMortmain · 08/02/2015 13:09

I'm finding the lack of caffeine really hard! I keep imagining giving a tiny wee baby a cup of coffee and that mental image is helping! Not easy though! Is anyone else finding themselves catching every cold and sniffle that happens to be floating by? My immune system seems to have taken a nosedive!
Hotpot- my first few tests did that as well and it was reassuring to use a digital and see it in words! Could you try that?

Cineraria · 08/02/2015 13:22

Crazypug, I have read that green tea might also make it harder to absorb your folic acid. I think it is ok as long as you're not drinking loads though.

Sometimes it seems amazing to see how many things we're not supposed to do. DH bought a virtual reality headset earlier this week and while I was trying it out last night he decided to read the instructions and suddenly whipped it off me announcing that it's not supposed to be used by pregnant women! I have no idea why. Maybe something to do with nausea, though.

Twinkletoes007 · 08/02/2015 13:57

Hello ibeka - so nice to be reunited! How are you feeling? X

crazypuglady · 08/02/2015 14:21

Cine I'd not heard that about green tea! Here's me thinking I'm being healthy by drinking it! I only have 1 or 2 though. Need to do my research I think!

Mumwannabe82 · 08/02/2015 14:28

hey everyone, so far I'm having one coffee a day but my downfall is tea because I normally drink lots of it so had to buy some decaf teabags to keep me going lol
welcome twinkletoes and congrats Grin

Mumwannabe82 · 08/02/2015 14:31

also full of cold and feel hungover and found out I can't even have lemsip which I thought would be OK because its only paracetamol!! what does everyone else think about the cold remwdies? xx

Hotpotpie · 08/02/2015 14:45

Thank you everyone, I just assumed two days later it would be darker, I'll have to try and wait a little longer, the digital one said 1-2 weeks so I'm hopeful I'm just testing early

HettyB · 08/02/2015 15:16

This is kind of gross, but is anyone struggling with phlegm? It might not be pregnancy related but I had a horrible chesty cough right before I conceived and while the cough and sore throat have gone, I'm still coughing up phlegm four weeks later!

HerewardTheTired · 08/02/2015 15:45

Not phlegm, but saliva. I'm so dribbly!

Hello everyone and congratulations on new bfps!

batfish · 08/02/2015 16:08

Aww hotpot try not to worry (says the girl who has done nothing but worry since BFP) - try to wait a few more days before testing again.

Does anyone have quite a tender stomach? Not actual stomach but abdomen area - I keep getting the odd pain, nothing strong at all but it's been on and off since yesterday morning. Trying to think it's just baby settling in and nothing bad! Sometimes feels a little like period pain and other times not. No bleeding or anything so hopefully all absolutely fine!

We are going to tell families this week as my parents are coming to stay with us on Thursday for a couple of weeks and they will wonder why I'm not drinking, I'm bricking it about telling them, I feel so responsible for keeping this little ball of cells safe and the more people that know (even family) makes it even scarier! We have a docs appt on Wed though so will be having a v early scan - I think I will only be 5 weeks 4 days so don't think there will be anything to see but I'm hoping I will feel reassured by seeing the doctor.

LakeOfDreams · 08/02/2015 16:10

Haha I'm dribbly but I remember that from last time!! Sickness hit me this morning but id had an awful nightshift and had a mix of morning sickness and adrenaline come down after being in a resus for a while. Had to tell a couple of people as I had to go to the bathroom for a while!!!

Luckily I'm off work for two weeks now so be a bit easier to keep my mouth shut when I'm not seeing anyone!!

Sorted out a booking appt, had to go through the community midwives as a midwife is only at my GP surgery for about 2.5 hrs every Friday so clearly she doesn't have any 1 hr appts until the middle of March! Keep missing the community teams phone call so they gave me an appt but didn't say if I should collect a bounty pack in advance which is what I did last time although that was with a different team of midwives!! Booking appointment 25th Feb starting to seem a bit real

ibeka · 08/02/2015 16:38

batfish, we seem to be symptom twins... I feel very similar with with dull aches in the abdomen...

twinkletoes I feel fine! main symptom is psychological - I feel really anxious about anything going wrong! Otherwise just sore boils and a bit tender in my abdomen although that may just be the IBS

Just been to nephew's 2nd birthday where my SIL spotted I was pretending to drink the fizz and then pointed out to me which cheeses were pasteurised...oops!

Thanks for all he caffeine comments - feel reassured now that the odd cup won't hurt. I've always disliked tea so that's not a problem for me...
