I got my somewhat faint bfp today, I'm mostly just in shock now as we weren't really trying, but I can feel the excitement creeping in already, this will be number two for Me Smile

townsender · 06/02/2015 20:32

Hi folks, I'd like to join too please!
I'm a sneaky defector from the September thread. I had an early scan on Tuesday due to bleeding, and think I'm a bit further behind than I'd thought. No idea when my due date is, but lets call it 3rd October for now.

Waves to lake and bat from some other threads Grin

hide re the dentist, I went earlier this year, a few months after I'd given birth. I just told the receptionist I'd had a baby in the last few months, signed the back of the form and included my NHS number, and then I didn't have to pay. No evidence needed. She said that if I'd lied the system would find out and they'd get me eventually Shock

Kym134 · 06/02/2015 22:07

Question, do you need your NHS number ready to call the midwives? Still havn't managed to join a GPs surgery and don't have my number from my old one.

EssexWelsh · 06/02/2015 22:47

Sounds very stressful cineraria but if it helps I bled red with clots until 17 weeks with DS1 and he is perfect at 22 months old now!

I've finally started feeling sick today, hooray, still not sick enough for my liking , but glad there's a sign of something going on.

Got my booking in and first scan letters today, typically the scan is on the day of a wedding which I was hoping I'd be scanned by so could be open as obviously not drinking and I imagine with bump by then! Going to try to bring it forward a day, but imagine it'll be after.
My Mum has decided to visit from Wales this weekend which I wasn't expecting so guess I'll be telling her in a minute, any cute ways of telling her?

townsender · 06/02/2015 23:13

Essex I got my booking in and scan dates today too. Quite excited, and the dates fitted well (I'm travelling with work for 2 weeks, and they neatly fitted the week before and the week after my travel. Phew). Good luck with bringing it forward, if you don't ask you don't get.
No ideas of good announcement stories. We're waiting until I'm back from travels before we tell anyone (unless we're forced to by people guessing). Still in denial that I'll get that far Confused

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 06/02/2015 23:24

Wow, I can't keep up with this group Grin

Cine: so, so glad things are ok. What a fright Thanks

Alex: great news on the job! Sorry to hear about your cold. Try hot water with honey and lemon. You're ok to take paracetamol too. Also saline nasal sprays might give you a bit of relief. Feel better soon.

Welcome and congrats to all the new faces!

Feeling so rough today. MS has kicked in this afternoon and I feel hungover. A friend reminded me about seasickness bands so I must go and find some.

MrsEvansAlmost · 07/02/2015 08:02

welcome all newly pregnant ladies Grin Grin Grin

hideandsqueak · 07/02/2015 09:17

Thanks for the tip townsender! Hoping my dental surgery are as trusting. Hope you manage to get your scan brought forward. Is it a weekday wedding or a weekend scan?

I felt nauseous earlier in the week but not as much now and just want it to come back. Even though last time I didn't start feeling sick until 6 weeks onwards...

catlady87 · 07/02/2015 09:26

Morning all. I think I'm 5+0 today. POAS again this morning. The positive test line came up before the control line even had a chance to... Haha... I guess that's a good sign. Hope everyone is feeling well. I am having temperature issues (hot/cold all the time) and slight nausea but nothing too bad yet. X

whoknew28 · 07/02/2015 09:38

Hi everyone, mind if I tentatively join you? Just got a bfp this morning, only 10 dpo so cautiously happy after a horrible mmc last September. Due 21st Oct, and this would be my first. Smile

Congrats to everyone else, and nice to see some ladies from the Feb bus here where I've been lurking!

Coolchic12 · 07/02/2015 10:18

Hi ladies . Catlady I'm just 3 days behind you, 4+5 days. I've also poas this morning, can't help myself. Boots nice line, but not as dark as I thought would be , which forced me to use clear blue as well, got 2-3 weeks, so a bit relieved but still anxious!

Coolchic12 · 07/02/2015 10:21

Welcome Whoknew, I also poas quite early think it was 9dpo. I'm not good at waiting haha!

Coolchic12 · 07/02/2015 10:51

Ladies can anyone please tell me which pregnacare to get? I'm about to finish my conception today and wondering which one is best between original, plus and max?

HettyB · 07/02/2015 10:52

Morning ladies!

How is everyone today? I've done another hpt (this is becoming an addiction), panicked a bit about the chance of miscarriage, and am going to pop into town to pick up a clearblue digi with the weeks on, as I want to see 3+!

I've given up on being able to think about anything other than this baby for the next 8 months, or ever.

Coolchic12 · 07/02/2015 11:08

I'm exactly the same Hetty! I'm borderline obsessedWink

crazypuglady · 07/02/2015 11:13

Hi everyone.

I took a test on the off chance this morning as only day for over a week that neither DH or I have to dash off to work and got a surprise BFP! Only 11dpo so very tentative but, right now, I'm pregnant [:D]

Ca55andraMortmain · 07/02/2015 13:05

Is there room for one more? Found out almost a week ago that DH and I are expecting #1. Very excited and nervous, especially as I'm having some cramping most days although it's quite mild. I'm bursting to tell someone but we're trying to keep it quiet until the 12 week scan which is booked for 3 April - seems ages away!

Oh, nearly forgot to add- I'm 27 (though will be 28 when baby arrives), in Edinburgh and edd is 10 October I think!

ibeka · 07/02/2015 13:47

Hi cool chic, after extensive pregnacare research I opted for plus. I'm veggie, so need the omega 3. Whether you do or not depends on how much oily fish you eat... I then chose plus over max because it's only two tablets and the Max is 3 which just seemed a bit excessive! No idea if that is the best cours of action yet though.

I just walked to shops and back (20 mins each way) and felt unusually breathless.

Anyone else in SW London?

ibeka · 07/02/2015 13:52

Oh wow, crazypug, how lovely to see you here! Congratulations!!

crazypuglady · 07/02/2015 13:56

Thanks ibeka Grin

Have you calculated your EDD? Mine is 20th October. Just a crazy thought. This doesn't feel real yet. Did you all feel like that or am I weird?

ibeka · 07/02/2015 14:04

I feel completely weird, mostly because I feel so normal (apart from easy tears and sore boobs)!! Think my DD is 16th, based on OV date. I veer between chuckling to myself with excitement and then panicking so much about something going wrong!

crazypuglady · 07/02/2015 14:13

Glad it's not just me. DH keeps laughing at me because I keep randomly grinning/laughing to myself. At the same time I'm researching everything about pregnancy.

Went to costa for a celebratory hot chocolate and saw a brie panini in the fridge. Nearly cried because I can't have one for another 8 months Blush and then nearly cried at the teeny tiny baby shoes in tesco. It's going to be a long 8 months Grin

I do a job that involves a lot of lifting and carrying so going to have to tell my boss soon, although guidelines are to just carry on as normal. I hope she takes it well!

alexmash12 · 07/02/2015 15:00

Ladies help! Having something of a mini melt down.

On a 30th birthday weekend in Cotswold with 7 other VERY boozy couples. They all know we are trying so I'm very keen to cover my tracks. I'm ordering g&t and my husband just makes them without the G.

BUT we just did a long walk ending in a pub and my husband ordered a Virgin Mary and a Bloody Mary. Once I'd downed my supposed Virgin Mary my husband suddenly went white as a sheet as he realised they BOTH had double vodka in and I couldn't taste it because of the tobasco.

I'm now in a tail spin. I'm 6 weeks today and have just downed a double vodka without knowing.

What have I done!

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 07/02/2015 15:05

Alex, don't worry. The baby isn't feeding from you yet and you'll have done absolutely no damage! Remember that lots of women don't even know they're pregnant at this stage.

Honestly don't worry. Enjoy your weekend but lay off anymore booze, yeh Wink
