Hi to all the new BFP’s! :)

I’m also desperate to know if everything is OK too and find this limbo excruciating too. I’ve booked a scan to be done privately at the FMC, London. I’ll be 8 weeks but I’m also having another at 10+5 so I’m wondering whether to cancel the first appointment or should I have both just for my own peace of mind?? I try to remind myself to focus on the positives, which can be challenging at times as I keep getting these bad cramps. (Mental note, buy prunes!)

Gosh, it is a small world, Lingua and Furry. Who knows, we might have even passed each other on the street in Twick and maybe now at West Mid too, Furry!

hideandsqueak · 05/02/2015 19:18

Does anyone know of you can get your nhs exemption card before your booking in appointment? I have a trip to the dentist next month but it's the day after my booking in! I don't want to pay when I am actually pregnant .

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:13

Hi ladies, can I also join please. I've recently got a bfp, clear blue digital was 1-2 weeks on Monday morning. Dating is going to be hard for me as I had an early miscarriage or chemical pregnancy at around 4 weeks on 5th Jan:-(. I'm happy, but anxious at the same time! I had a tfmr last October at 14 weeks. I'm in a limbo and need to speak with other expecting ladies.
Pheww apologies for the long post?

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:17

Hide, the card takes about 3 weeks to arrive. I think you need to get the form stamped by either a midwife or GP has some. It's worth asking your GP surgery, good luck. I've still got mine from last year, never used it though as I was unfortunately no longer pregnant when it arrived

LakeOfDreams · 05/02/2015 20:20

Hey coolchic you are not alone, I'm desperately using this place to remind myself it's OK to be happy and most people are going to have healthy babies at the end. Hope you will find some reassurance from here too!

Hide, from what I remember from last year you get your maternity exemption certificate at the same time you get your matB1. The time people got that seemed to vary a lot but was between about 16-23 weeks. They won't issue it until after a scan as the midwife has to confirm the pregnancy so guess they are likely to be reluctant to do this before 20 weeks

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:21

Binnie, I'll be booking for my early scan at FMC as soon as I hit 6 weeks, I need it for peace if mind. I was with them last year, very detailed scans. Is say go for the 8 weeks and maybe cancel the 2nd and go for the nhs instead if the first one is ok, or have all 3Smile

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:22

Oops sorry Beanie, I spelt ur name wrong!

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:27

Thanks Lake. It's so good to have people to talk to, only my partner knows, so it's nice to have women to talk to if you know what I mean.

I was given the exemption application form on my booking appointment, I must have been around 8 weeks then

LakeOfDreams · 05/02/2015 20:31

Ok clearly I was totally wrong about the maternity certificate as I just got mine out of my purse and it was valid from 16/12/13 until 16/8/15 (exactly a year after DDs due date) so they obviously gave it to me a lot earlier than I thought. Pop into your GP surgery if they can't do it look on the NHS pages as there is a form you can use to claim back prescription costs incurred whilst waiting for your card. Not sure if that'll work with dentist treatment too.

shieldbug · 05/02/2015 20:45

Hello all! 7+1 today and like so many, fluctuating between feeling tired and v preggers and not feeling anything at all. I think this is the hardest time during pg; it gets more reassuring when you can feel kicks etc and have a nice big bump to look at.

Interesting so many of you come from Twick/ Kingston area. I used to work in Hampton and had friends all around that side of London. It's a great place to be. (I now live in Northern Ireland though).

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:51

Oh ladies, just a bit more info, I'm 35, ttc no 1. It's been a tough journey after a tfmr and mc, so fingers crossed this one is successful. My EDD is 12th October. I live in kensington.

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 20:53

Not much symptom wise, just feel and look bloated and breasts slightly bigger and tingly.

Whatamuddleduck · 05/02/2015 20:54

I am an idiot! Because I don't knicker check enough or have moments of thinking I imagined the bfp or 3 I have just managed to completely freak myself out.

today I bought 2 more digis so I could hopefully see lasts weeks1-2, turn into 2-3. This would be fine but... 6 days after the first 1-2, today's came up the same . I completely freaked myself out, I'm 4+4 today. Surely it should say 2-3?

Having come back down to earth now I guess it would probably help if I used fmu?

Anyone want to reassure me? This is just me being an idiot right? It will be because I didn't use fmu or just a day or so too early? When did other people get2-3?

Coolchic12 · 05/02/2015 21:01

Hi What, I'm also poas freak, I think I've already gone through 10 now. Did you use the 1st digi on af day? Perhaps you tested early, hence still saying 1-2, I'd give it 2 or 3 days.

Whatamuddleduck · 05/02/2015 21:21

Thanks chic. I've just read back over some of the thread and realised I'm not the only one to do exactly what I did!
Think I tested a couple of days before af was due though so it could just be that I need to leave it a few days, you're right.
We all know I won't though! I'll buy digis daily until the weeks increase because I have no self control! I'm glad that I'm amongst other poas addicts though! X

Glossyflower · 05/02/2015 23:41

I've been using the poundland tests. You get two in a pack and is similar to what drs use xxx

alexmash12 · 06/02/2015 07:59

Morning everyone,

So pleased to see our numbers growing.

hideandsqueak - i went to the dentist last week and hadn't even realised pregnancy made you exempt but I when asked if I was pregnant I told them. I obviously don't have a card yet as I am 5+6 and my first appointment isn't until next friday. They didn't seem to mind. I assume if I don't produce the number in the coming months they will invoice me. I have a filling (groan) next week so I will let you know if they change their mind.

I feel terrible today. Have a stinker of a cold and the pain of the congestion around the front of my face is preventing me from sleeping. Everything I read says try and stay away from any medication in the first 12 weeks. Any experienced mums out there who can recommend from preggers friendly cures?

hideandsqueak · 06/02/2015 08:24

Thanks alexmash that is good to know! Will tell reception and see if they will trust me... I am booked in for filling as well. I've never had one before. I've heard that things can hurt more when you are pregnant! Eeek...

hideandsqueak · 06/02/2015 08:26

Alexmash the only remedy I can think of is inhaling a bowl of steam. Rubbish I know. Hope you feel better soon.. Lots of fluids and early nights

catlady87 · 06/02/2015 08:46

Morning ladies. I've had a very dodgy tummy this morning, sorry if tmi, not sickness but the other thing... Has anyone else experienced this as a symptom? Feel a wee bit nauseous but nothing bad. Hope everyone is ok x

alexmash12 · 06/02/2015 08:47

HideAndSeek - me neither! Trust is to get a filling NOW of all times! Let me know how it goes!

hideandsqueak · 06/02/2015 09:17

Catlady since before I got my BFP and ever since I have had diarhoea! Apparently it is a symptom... Like morning sickness but coming out the other way! Am hoping it stops soon!

hideandsqueak · 06/02/2015 09:25

Alexmash mine isn't until March so you will have to let me know how bad it was. My DH had to have 13 in two goes once and has been traumatized ever since.

ibeka · 06/02/2015 10:29

Morning All, may I hop aboard? Got BFP on Thursday on two cheapies, hen a FRER, then a CB digi which said 1-2 weeks. I'm 32 and this is my first pregnancy. I recognize a couple of faces from the TTC bus - hi, marmite and hideandsqueek Smile

Batfish can I just say your weds night post was like reading about myself! I'm really nervous as well as excited.

Only symptoms are very sore boobs and mood swings. I work in a behaviour management role in a high school and found myself driven to tears by a naughty teenager for the first time in about 7 years yesterday!!

ibeka · 06/02/2015 10:29

Oh, my ov date gives a DD of October 16.
