Hospitals have a target to book everyone before 13 weeks now, it seems to be getting earlier and earlier.

I am going to the GP tomorrow and will be 6 weeks exactly, I imagine it will take them forever to process the forms so I assume booking will be closer to 12 weeks. Anyone else not sure which hospital to book under.? I'm in London and there are three choices.

I used to work in one of them, in the exact midwife team I would be booked under and while their care was excellent, I do know some of them, not sure that's a good idea, but the others are just much more inconvenient to get to. so tempted just to go for the devil I know.

Summer29 · 04/02/2015 16:18

Sorry to hear so many people are feeling rubbish! I'm still symptom free and making the most of it at the mo Smile
I've got an early booking in appointment tomorrow, can anyone let me know what info I need to provide about dh? I can't remember from the last time and he can't come with me as its short notice.

BitchBags · 04/02/2015 16:37

summer last time they asked me what his occupation was, if he was my next of kin and if he had any medical issues

catlady87 · 04/02/2015 16:39

Are we supposed to bring DH to booking appt?

Im trying to resist the urge to do another test when I get home... Trying...

MrsEvansAlmost · 04/02/2015 16:44

I'm still marginally symptom free too apart from sore boobs and pmt type cramping. my waist is tiny and already looks swollen but I keep telling myself its far too early to see a "bump" and that I've just got fat!

keep wanting to buy pg tests just to check I'm actually pregnant! I'm so worried that my body is taking the piss and we've told close family only and said to keep it quiet until 13 weeks. I've got my booking in app a week today. I'll be 7 weeks exactly. Blush quite nervous about it all I felt so calm last week and this week I feel a mess!

Summer29 · 04/02/2015 17:11

Thanks bitchbags - I just wanted to make sure I was prepared!
Catlady- I don't think dh's are supposed to go, it's just that my dp wanted to come to everything last time (and would've come tomorrow if he could!)

BitchBags · 04/02/2015 17:15

You can take your dh/dp if you want but you don't have to. Dh came to all of them with me last time bit won't be able to this time round as he works for his dad and this one is a secret at the moment

catlady87 · 04/02/2015 17:42

Beanie42 · 04/02/2015 17:53

Sorry to hear your sad news dojo. x

Beanie42 · 04/02/2015 17:59

Two yrs in NY must have been such an amazing experience, Angus. Ive only been to Edinburgh once for Hogmanay and had such fun! I was sooo tempted to look for a job there. The people I met were all lovely. Hope the move goes smoothly.

Beanie42 · 04/02/2015 18:17

Hi Ling. Hope the morning sickness has subsided. I live in Twick so very close to Kingston.

I was automatically referred to West Mid, (-I was also born there!). Guess it's because it's just down the road.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 04/02/2015 18:34

I was also born in West mid! Sadly I'm down south in streatham now so it's St Thomas, St George's or Kings for me.

Symptoms seem to be coming at 6 weeks tomorrow but only just. I sort of want to be really sick just to believe its real but I'm sure if I was I'd be whining about that.

catlady87 · 04/02/2015 19:08

I just went for a run... Got it's hard even when you're only 4+4 pregnant! I'm not the best runner but can usually manage 2 or 3 miles fairy easily. Had to run/walk/run/walk. Good luck with that 10k furryhat!

Beanie42 · 04/02/2015 19:40

Small world, Anarchist, :) (-is it ok to call you that?) Do you know which one you want?

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to have symptoms that makes it feel more real.

TheDisillusionedAnarchist · 04/02/2015 20:02

I think St Thomas as assuming everything goes well (and it seems tempting fate to even think about it yet) I'd probably want a home birth and this is their area and call me whatever you want this is my secret mn name so my sister who lurks does not find out I'm pregnant.

Cat lady-I'm in admiration of your running at all . I need to do more exercise. I want to do my aqua class but not too keen on telling the instructor I'm pregnant so that's putting me off.

bringonthebiscuits · 04/02/2015 20:54

Anarchist. I did zumba yesterday and didn't tell the instructor. It was harder work than usual though. If you tell them they can advise you on certain exercises to avoid but it's your choice.

Kym134 · 04/02/2015 21:20

Hi All,
Would like to join your group as had BFP last Saturday (although 3 days of really faint lines before then) a 1-2 week CB CI test! My DH and I have been ttc#1 for 3 months and really happy. We are quite young (I'm 23 and DH 25) and really looking forward to it. We were waiting until my maternity package kicked in at 2 years but I am the bread winner so I'm thinking about using the new shared parental leave to allow DH to take a lot of time off with new baby.
I have added myself to the stats, that is an amazing idea!
I am trying to work out how best to go about booking an appointment as I am not registered with a GP surgery in this area (moved quite recently) and don't have my NHS number to register just yet. Can you contact the midwives direct?

batfish · 04/02/2015 21:36

Hi all, I got my BFP a week ago which puts me at 4 weeks 4 days and due date of around 10th Oct! This is my first time and I'm absolutely shitting myself as have had friends go through horrid times with TTC and pregnancy so I'm literally running to the loo every 30 mins expecting bleeding and panicking every time I get any kind of twinge anywhere in my body. However in an effort to think positively I thought I would chat on here and try to be less pessimistic!

I have only 1 symptom which is massively sore boobs, they have been like this for 2 weeks now which is what made me POAS. Other than that I feel totally normal and just can't get my head around it at all, anyone would think it was a surprise pregnancy. I did 4 tests but am on holiday at the moment (skiing...great timing) so have emailed the docs asking if I can go in for blood tests on Sunday when I'm back if everything is still looking OK by then. I need something to make it feel real!

catlady87 · 04/02/2015 22:05

Welcome batfish and kym and congrats!

Batfish - I am in exactly the same position as you (except I am sadly not on hols). Same due date, I'm 4+4! So paranoid. Can't relax. I am with you! X

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 04/02/2015 22:43

Beanie I'm in twickenham too, small world. My eldest was born at west mid and west mid midwives attended the births of my other two. I think I will probably book in there again this time.

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 04/02/2015 22:47

kym134 I think some hospitals allow self referrals so it might be worth contacting your local maternity unit.

Linguaphile · 04/02/2015 23:16

Beanie and furry I'm in Tedd so very close! We just chose Kingston as we're close to the station and it's quicker to get there by train. Small world!
