Hello All,
Am very excited to be able to join, got a bfp on Sunday after over a year of trying for dc2!

GeorgieWilson · 03/02/2015 16:34

So sorry dojo - fingers crossed for you.

Mumwannabe82 · 03/02/2015 16:44

Dojo I'm so sorry Thanks

Mumwannabe82 · 03/02/2015 16:45

hi Cat lady Grin Grin Grin lovely to see you on here xx

Cineraria · 03/02/2015 17:08

Sorry to hear your bad news dojo. Good idea to go to the GP still.

Welcome Georgie and Catlady. Congratulations to both of you. Congratulations to Ling too. Such good news!

Hope you cold doesn't last long Alex. I think it's ok to have paracetamol, isn't it, if you have aches and pains with it and you could use saline drops or steaming with a towel over your head for a blocked nose, plus I'd imagine some throat sweets would be ok; maybe check with the pharmacist what's ok to use if you're pregnant.

In our area the booking appointment is between 8 and 12 weeks, Glossy but it might be different where you are.

I really shouldn't have mentioned having poor appetite yesterday; today the nausea started and now I just want to eat all the time to keep it at bay!

catlady87 · 03/02/2015 17:08

Hi mumwannabe! Nice to be here. How are you? X

LakeOfDreams · 03/02/2015 17:11

Hi all I'm terrified to join you but got and still get so much support from my previous antenatal group that I thought I'd give it a shot!

Lake, 32 in March this is DC#2, DD was sadly still born at 41+2 in August.

I'm currently 4+4 EDD 9/10/15. I must sound stupid but I'm desperate for some symptoms to make this feel a bit more real!!

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 03/02/2015 18:03

Lake, I'm so, so sorry for your loss Thanks There really are no words.

I have everything crossed for you for this pregnancy.

Frenchfancies · 03/02/2015 19:03

Oh lake congratulations! My heart goes out to you with your DD Sad Flowers, but you'll find lots of lovely supportive ladies on herexxx

And congrats to georgie and cat lady too xx

In terms of symptoms I feel different every day, I can't keep up with it. My head is totally up my arse. I was on a low dosage of citalopram so when I got my BFP stopped I went cold turkey. My mental symptoms are turning out to be a lot more to contend with than physical ones! Grin

lingthat's great news! Awww makes it all real!

Frenchfancies · 03/02/2015 19:06

And congrats beanie and anyone else I might have missed!xx

HerewardTheTired · 03/02/2015 19:11

Lake I'm sorry Flowers, but also congratulations on your bfp.

Dojo I have my fingers crossed for you. I had a heavy bleed with ds1 and a mc previously. I hope yours is the positive outcome.

katew66 · 03/02/2015 19:51

Really sorry Lake but congratulations too x

No symptoms as yet except tiredness!
How do I work out how many weeks I am-sorry silly question I Know x

secretbump · 03/02/2015 19:55

Hello ladies, looking for a few friends . Have told noone apart from dh but am worried will need some help. Had bfp on Sunday. Great news and very happy. I lost my mum at christmas. We were so close and although i have one dc, is breaking my heart she is not here to know or meet this one. So scared something will go wrong (as dsis hate late mc last year)so want to wait for scan before telling anyone as family couldn't cope with more sadness. DC will be so excited, don't want to get false hopes up either. Sorry, just wanted to "tell" someone else. I know this should be the happy board but didn't feel right to put this in bereavement as trying to focus on baby xx

RhiannonElward · 03/02/2015 19:55

Hi there, mind if I join you? I have a pile of cheapie bfps in front of me so I suppose I just have to let it sink in now, I'm due on the 13th of October Smile

Frenchfancies · 03/02/2015 20:28

Hi secret and Rhiannon, more the merrier and exiting news for you both!

secret so sorry to hear about your loss. It must be very difficult for you, and with so many different emotions going on too Flowers. I'm finding early pregnancy is pretty much a rollercoaster of emotion without coping with grief as well, just take each day as it comes and be kind to yourself xxxxxx

Frenchfancies · 03/02/2015 20:32

Kate I'm totally new to this as well but you take the first day of your last period and however many weeks ago that was is how far on you are. So I took that date and put it in the calculator thingy and it worked it out for me Grin

Natalie1989xo · 03/02/2015 20:46

Hi all, I am back on mumsnet after a long break. We eased up on TTC after our miscarriage in September which really turned our world upside down.

Anyway, pregnant with #3 after originally working our due date at 26th September, an early scan showed that I was not even that far along. So I am quite sure we will now be due in October. I have another scan on Friday so will know for sure then.

Wishing you all healthy stress free pregnancies :) xx

shieldbug · 03/02/2015 20:47

Hello newbies and a warm welcome to all.

Lake I can't even begin to imagine what you must have been through. Hope you have a happy outcome this time. Don't worry, I'm sure you will soon have plenty of symptoms; just hope they aren't unpleasant ones.

secretbump congrats on bfp. Hope there will soon be wonderful news for your family after your scan. Feel free to offload on this thread as much as you like; it doesn't have to all be happy and I hope we can be supportive and helpful for you.

Yey welcome Rhiannon I'm sure it will sink in soon, but at 7 weeks tomorrow, I'm still not sure I've really twigged there's going to be a number 3 dc in our household! Is this your first?

beanie (hope I've got the right person), I'm one of the over forties on here and yes, I am a little concerned about the age thing, but actually when you think about it, the odds are actually well in our favour for a successful outcome.

kate you work out weeks from the first day of your last period. I know that's obviously not the "correct" answer, but it's what the midwives etc will all use as the measure of how far on you are. Hope that helps!

Woke up this morning to find out ds1 had wet the bed- I say THE bed, but actually it was OUR bed! Yeach! After 2 further accidents today, I questioned him carefully about what was upsetting him and he said he was worried about me exploding with the baby! i had jokingly said that if it was twins, I would probably explode and he picked up on the explode bit and has been scared ever since. I forget sometimes how little he is, especially as he is very intelligent for his age.

Please could somebody help me update my details; I've been trying to input that I'm in Northern Ireland, but it doesn't seem to retain the info. Thanks!

shieldbug · 03/02/2015 20:49

Sorry Natalie was still typing when you posted! Congrats on your pg and I hope all goes well for you

Beanie42 · 03/02/2015 21:03

Thanks for the congrats! It's heart warming to hear as we haven't told anyone yet. I really want to tell my mum but think it might be too soon and maybe it's best to wait awhile...?

I really feel for you Lake. How heart breaking to have that happen. Hope all goes well for you.

Also congrats to Georgie, Catlady, Rhiannon and secret. Sorry about your loss, secret. It must be a tough time for you and hopefully it will ease a little with time.

Welcome to the club Cineraria. It's good to know there are others in their 40's here too. I'm loving the 'upgrade' description you used! Nicely put :) Dreams can be funny things. I usually have very vivid ones too. Can't tell if mine have been affected. In fact I really don't feel pregnant. I'm only getting pmt like symptoms - minus the hormonal mood changes . No nausea at all. Guess that's why it still doesn't feel real. Hope you're feeling better and your hormones not driving you too crazy, French.

Are you ok Dojo? Hopefully it is just spotting that some women experience and not a cp. Will keep my fingers crossed for you too!

Hope all is well BBags and your mind is at rest after seeing the doctor.

Glad your scan went well Ling. Got my booking appointment in 3 weeks and can't wait. I was contemplating having an early scan, (done privately), but don't know if it's a good idea...?

Beanie42 · 03/02/2015 21:07

Thanks for the congrats Angus. I only got married in NY - Ink48 to be exact! My first time there and it was amazing! How long have you been out there for? Must have been really exciting!
I live in West London. Where in England are you moving back to? Are you looking forward to it?

Beanie42 · 03/02/2015 21:11

Congrats Natalie and very sorry to hear about your loss. Wishing you all the best!

bringonthebiscuits · 03/02/2015 21:13

Hi. I'm a complete lurker but I thought I'd better drop in and let you know I'm here! Found out yesterday I am expecting number 4. Excited but scared at the same time. Can't quite believe it is real. I'm 28 with 3 boys already 8, 5 and 2 amd my due date is 11th October. Happy pregnancys everyone x

Beanie42 · 03/02/2015 21:15

Hi shieldbug. Yes, you have the right 'beanie'. Glad to hear to sounding positive. I'm hoping some of it will rub off on me, please! It's reassuring to hear that you think the odds are in our favour. Would love to hear more! :)

TheGirlWhoPlayedWithFire · 03/02/2015 21:23

Sorry to hear your leaving the thread dojo good luck with the GP.

Welcome to all the new BFP'ers. Especially those who have been through difficult times recently. I hope your pregnancies are as stress free and smooth sailing as they can be.

I have my booking in appointment next week. Nice to see other third timers on this thread (to know I'm not the only mad woman taking on a third Wink )
