Ouch ouch ouch and today my breasts feel like they are on fire. That will teach me for moaning I had no symptoms!

artyone · 02/02/2015 14:55

Welcome to all the new BfP's!!!

Ling I wouldn't let them bother you. You just can't please some people. Parents/PIL always seem to expect you to do things their way for some reason. MIL was a bit put out that I breastfed DD1 and she couldn't bottle feed her and have her overnight and my mum is still annoyed that I didn't move close to her so she can see her grandchild more often. You can never please everyone. Don't even get me started on the Christmas Day battle.

artyone · 02/02/2015 14:58

Also we purposely went for a small age gap too. I want 3 babies ideally so want to have them all close together and get the sleepless nights over in one fell swoop. Sounds ideal to me. Besides, I need someone to keep DD entertained, she is too lively.

Glossyflower · 02/02/2015 15:04

I like the idea of having children closer together, like I would rather have 5 years of sleepless nights and tantrums than 10 or more!
My DD will be 2 and a half by the time this one comes.xxx

alexmash12 · 02/02/2015 15:45

Ling - kind of speechless. As this is my first I can't offer any advice on age gaps but you know what is right for YOU and YOUR family. She'll get on board as soon as she meets the new arrival.

Boyle and Summer - I too am dreading work finding out. As I mentioned I am facing redundancy so am trying to keep the pregnancy on DL as my head will be the first to roll if they find out.

Boob update - I have gone from a B to a D. DH is delighted - sleeping my front has become a thing of the past already.

Is anyone else FREEZING all the time? I know it's colder at the moment but I go to bed with a heavy duvet and throw on me. I wear three tshirts and two wool jumpers to sleep in and I am still cold. I expected to be hot all the time not shivering. Should I be worried?

Alex x

MrsEvansAlmost · 02/02/2015 15:59

I like the idea of having them close together but doubt I will be allowed one for another 5 years!!

MrsEvansAlmost · 02/02/2015 19:08

so what have people been googling pregnancy wise today?

I've googled about having a bath (temperature) and if you're can get highlights when pregnant! silly things that I know can't harm the baby but still!!

Mumwannabe82 · 02/02/2015 19:13

ooh what did it say about bath temperature? I have been having a bit warmer than warm baths Grin Grin

MrsEvansAlmost · 02/02/2015 19:17

it says its fine as long as you don't raise your body temp above 102.2 f for more than 10 minutes as it could affect the baby!

in sticking to warmer than warm to!

Frenchfancies · 02/02/2015 19:42

Hi to all new BFP's!! Grin

Mum... I'm so bloated its ridiculous. If could easily pass for 5 months some days, no joke!

I'm keep wondering whether to tell my boss, purely so he stops giving me more work to do. I'm struggling as it is and have to nip out for a cry in the loos most days (hormones are taking their toll!) and then I worry the stress will affect the baby and then that worries me more! Vicious circle. Hmm

And boobs, heck... I'm keeping all hugs at arms length, it's just too painful!

Good to see you back boyle and ling I think 2yrs is a great age gap... I just imagining what my MIL is going to say to my name choices, i can see tea being spurted across the room Grin

katew66 · 02/02/2015 19:52

oh linguaphile i feel your pain- im dreading telling the inlaws-they believe that 2 is enough and who can afford any more! Im sure will also feel it makes visits more chaotic etc too!!
Angusandelspeth- we can do it this time! think how better you feel having lost the weight-how did you do it if you dont mind me asking?

HerewardTheTired · 02/02/2015 20:13

Alex I am freezing too. I was for the whole first trimester with dc1 and then got too hot and spent the next 6 months sitting under a fan.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 20:32

Kate it was a combo of breastfeeding, My Fitness Pal and the 30 Day Shred (eventually). I still have about a stone to go but going to take it easy while pregnant.

I bought a prenatal pilates dvd and have tried it a couple of times so might keep that up!

BitchBags · 02/02/2015 20:35

Alex I am also freezing all the time too.
is anyone else having mega mood swings? With Ds I used to get quite emotional but this time round I am really stressy and almost everything pisses me off. poor dh has been on the receiving end a few times

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 20:37

Had my first appointment today! The doctor took blood to check my pregnancy hormone level and I should get a call tomorrow about scheduling a sonogram. Really hoping I can have an early one in the next 10 days.

Had a smear test too...oh the joys! Smile

Whatamuddleduck · 02/02/2015 20:44

Hi all
How do you get away without people guessing at work? Or is it just me that normally lives on coffee biscuits and cigarettes? I have been smoking less and less so that didn't seem too bad but trying to pass off my sudden interest in ginger and lemon tea as being due to a sore throat was a bit suspicious. First bit of sickness and they will all guess I think.

I spoke to the gp today. Need to call back at 8 weeks to get a booking in appointment. Seems like so far away! What happens in other areas? Same or earlier / later appointments?

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 20:46

A slightly late NY resolution, maybe?

Frenchfancies · 02/02/2015 21:04

Ah Angus I have the 30 day shred...i find it quite effective ...although I've done it so many times now I think I know it word for word! Good 'ole jillian Smile That DVD will definitely be collecting dust for the next 9 months...

Muddle I'm sure my colleagues when I do tell them will go 'Aha!'... But at the moment I'm sure they just think I'm being a bit neurotic and wired! And same for me up north with booking in appointments 8wks etc. although I have already booked it for when I'm 8wks, rather than wait til I was 8wks to book it...if that makes sense!

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 21:10

Ha ha, French, "don't phone it in!". I admit, I never made it to Level 3. That is the challenge for this time next year!

Jillian Michaels is the only trainer that I don't want to chuck stuff at (apart from when she says "a couple more" when she means five more).

Frenchfancies · 02/02/2015 21:41

Haha Angus! Why does she say that!? Ooh it's bringing it all back! 'If you're going to die, follow Anita...we don't quit at the end, this is where we finish strong'.

First time I did it I literally couldn't walk for a week, pure truth. I had to take the stairs sideways whilst gripping onto the rail as couldn't bend my legs properly.

Frenchfancies · 02/02/2015 21:43

It was more the 30 day dread for me in the beginning Smile

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 21:48

Grin Brilliant! I still can't do a bloody push up. The pilates dvd is far more gentle!

katew66 · 02/02/2015 21:57

oh god i miss Jillian!

Frenchfancies · 02/02/2015 22:20

Neither can I...and I've been doing it for 3yrs. I have to do the 'lady' push ups on my knees Grin if I'm honest I actually struggle with the cool down stretch at the end too!

Beanie42 · 02/02/2015 22:23

Hello and congratulations everyone!! :) Using one of the online calculators is looks like my due date is 2nd October like Boyle and Anna too! (Sorry if I've missed out anyone else.) Feeling ecstatic but also very apprehensive because I'm having my first child in my early forties. Plus, being a hypochondriac doesn't help either! I worry about EVERYTHING. So this will be a really fab way to reassure myself that all is ok and I'm doing all the right things. Still can't quite believe it's real, but can't wait tell people as it almost a year ago that I eloped to NY.
