I was induced at 38w last time due to pre eclampsia. My bp went up to 198/105 Shock it was going up and down from about 33 weeks so I had weekly monitoring until it went up and stayed up at 38

Mumwannabe82 · 01/02/2015 20:47

Well also having big boobs anyway I have decided to go for sports bra's until such a time when I really should be wearing a proper maternity bra which I believe to be in the 3rd trimester, is that right? x

Mumwannabe82 · 01/02/2015 20:49

I went to see the doctor first because I thought it's probably best if they have as much info as possible xx she then sorted a letter to fax to the midwife to get in touch with me around the 8 week mark xx

artyone · 01/02/2015 20:57

I'm pretty sure that last pregnancy I didn't see anyone until the 8-10 week mark, so I assume it will be the same this time. These first weeks really drag don't they? I want my bump!

artyone · 01/02/2015 21:10

Anyone else feeling a bit sick? Surely it's too soon? Was hoping to be less sick this time. Last time I was sick from 6-22 weeks

Mumwannabe82 · 01/02/2015 21:12

Because of the excessive bloating and gas, my stomach looks like it has a bump even though it's impossible at this stage xx

Glossyflower · 01/02/2015 21:28

Arty, with my first I had HG and felt nauseous from the very beginning. Before I even missed my period. So not too early.

However despite wishing I never have to vomit in pregnancy ever again I'm feeling concerned I have little to no pregnancy symptoms.
I did feel slight nausea the other day, my boobs feel ever so slightly tingly and I feels bit more gassy than normal but then my DH did make a massive lentil casserole the other day lol.

I can't actually believe I'm pregnant.

BitchBags · 01/02/2015 22:17

I am sooo not looking forwards to the morning sickness :( I had it really bad with Ds.

Linguaphile · 01/02/2015 22:50

Me too Arty, 6-22 weeks. I've been having some dull nausea before breakfast and am 5+1, so not looking good. :( Still, can't hurt to hope, right? Meanwhile, I'm enjoying indulging my every craving and savouring not being sick for however long it lasts. The more calories right now the better... I had a BMI of about 20 by 6 months with my girls because if the weight loss. Shock

Exhausted today, starving, and my boobs hurt. Such loveliness, pregnancy... Hmm

dojo123 · 02/02/2015 07:06

Morning

Well I might have joined you guys too soon. I tested this morning and this was the result... Two BFNs. I'm confused Confused Still no sign of AF. Still no, symptoms, still have a raised temp.
I finished a 10 day course of penicillin yesterday and so if that has had an effect I should hopefully know by Wednesday. Going to book an appt with the docs for Wednesday anyway as I've never been a week late.
Still in blummin limbo land.

Octobermummy2be · 02/02/2015 07:30

Hello everyone and congratulations!!

I tested yesterday, just had a feeling and got quite a good line on a cheaply at 8pm!

I've had to rejoin after forgetting my p/w from last time but I'm still very much part of my last ante natal group from here, we transferred over to fb!

I've got a little boy who will be 7 months old this week. I'm 29, this will be my 3rd pregnancy

X

Whatamuddleduck · 02/02/2015 07:44

Oh dojo I'm sorry. The tww is bad enough without being left uncertain at the end of it. Could be that your hgc was just slightly too low this morning. Getting a bfn after a bfp was heart breaking for me a few months ago. I figured it was a cp and that the hgc had risen just enough to get a positive for one day. Could be that that's happened for you, but you never know. I tested daily for the 3 days until af arrived and no more bfns. Check it out with your Gp and if af hasn't arrived they will be able to test again with you. Sending you hugs for the next few days x

Boyle1884 · 02/02/2015 08:10

Hi all sorry been a bit quiet over last few days!!

The boobs stories have had me laughing my head off... My nipples are enormous and I've already ordered 2 maternity bras two sizes bigger than what I normally wear because in literally hanging out.

The nausea is creeping up this week already and at 5+4 im hoping it doesn't get worse!!

Really concerned about when to tell my boss I'm pg, only got my job in April and on Friday night won an award for having best office in my area and most successful team of 2014! As I left the event Friday night he whispered id be manager of the year next year and I just smiled thinking... Nope I'll hopefully be on maternity leave...

Im so sorry Dojo-theres nothing worse than limbo land :(

Glossyflower-I know what you mean- Im reading everything as a possible sign- even the gas ha ha! Was very sick on my last one and could do without that now as Im in a different job but if I could fast forward the next 4 weeks I would! We should prob count ourselves lucky tho x

katew66 · 02/02/2015 08:14

On a weight related note- I put on masses amounts of weight in both previous preganancies and then successfully lost 6st keeping it off for the last 4 years! My concern is controlling my need to eat for two and putting it back on- but Im determined it wont happen! (she says determindly while not eating nutella from the jar)

Summer29 · 02/02/2015 09:11

Octobermummy2be - I'm happy to see someone else with a similar age gap, I'm feeling quite nervous about it at the mo! (Dd is 8 months)
I'm dreading telling my boss, I'm due to go back to work in June so I'll only be there for a few months before leaving again. I'm a bit worried they'll be annoyed with me...
Kate66 - I'm also worried about weight gain, although I was eating Nutella on toast when I read your post which made me laugh!

Cineraria · 02/02/2015 09:16

Hi dojo, sorry to hear that. I hope your GP manages to get to the bottom of it on Wednesday.

Welcome and congratulations October!

Nice to see you back Boyle! It is difficult to know about the best time to let your boss know. I suppose if you're not facing any risks at work or needing any special considerations to be taken, there is no need to say anything for a while.

Six stone is really impressive Kate! My appetite is really low at the moment but it must be difficult if the hormones make you really hungry instead. I guess you'll just have to stockpile lots of snacks that aren't too high in fat or sugar

katew66 · 02/02/2015 10:04

Telling the boss is a very tricky one isnt it- mixed reactions! Yes Cineraria I will try my damndest to stay away from the Nutella!! Its a bit of an addiction Summer29
Wow I admire you ladies with such a close age gap between the babes - mine seem too far apart at 5 years! Ive forgotten what its all like (smile)
Mind you if you ask around some people swear by a close gap and some by a long one so it dosent seem to matter really x

Glossyflower · 02/02/2015 11:27

Yes telling the boss ... What to do?! Even though being pregnant should affect future promotions at work we all fear it does.
I had to tell my boss early on last time, then was off sick for 4 months. At first boss wasn't best pleased, she assumed I had morning sickness but it was full blown HG and made her feel bad when I managed to drag myself in to show her I looked worse than a corpse (my friend own words that she's seen dead people look better than I did). Boss then sent me some flowers which I couldn't bear to be near cos of the smell.
I know there's an opportunity for promotion in the next few months and I have high chance of getting it but my pregnancy might change that Hmm

Sidneypug25 · 02/02/2015 12:04

Hello lovelies. I am distraught/delighted/distraught/delighted. BFP on Saturday night - while DH was playing with our FOUR MONTH old PFB DS. I've been EBF..I thought this covered us for contraception Hmm anyway - Clear Blue Conception Indicator says 1-2 weeks so that puts me into October. Early days still but congratulations to all. I could potentially have two under one if this one comes slightly early Shock

Sidneypug25 · 02/02/2015 12:07

Also, I've just started back to work today following my maternity leave. Delightful. I was in size ten maternity jeans going into hospital to have DS in September - hopefully I can hide this one until July again Hmm NOT A CHANCE

BitchBags · 02/02/2015 12:33

Congrats sidney my DS is also quite young at almost 7 months. I'm also breastfeeding but we started ttc over Xmas . We are proof that breastfeeding is not a contraceptive Grin

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 13:23

Dojo, sorry to hear about the confusing tests. Hope you know for certain soon. Thanks

Congrats to all the new BFPs!

kate I'm another one concerned about weight. I was heavy while pregnant with DD1 and I lost 5.5 stone over the past year or so. I really don't want to undo all my hard work by eating for two!

I've upped my calories MFP, especially as I'm still BFing DD 2-3 times a day. Just hoping to only put on necessary weight, but it doesn't always work that way!

Linguaphile · 02/02/2015 14:19

Ha ha Sidney, my brother and SIL had that happen to them! My niece and nephew are just under a year apart and are best friends. :)

So, I'm in a huff with my MIL, who we told last night about the pregnancy. She wasn't terribly thrilled because...

  1. She and SFIL are of the vocal opinion that short age gaps (read: anything less than 5 years) are a terrible idea. We disagree and have gone for an age gap of two years. On purpose. We don't want to live in the blooming baby stage for FIFTEEN YEARS like they did whilst babies were methodically spaced no less than five years apart so that each could get the precious only child experience. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not for us, partly because that ideal was already blown to bits when we had twins--no precious only children here. It's nice to have one jolly little crowd with similar interests and abilities and nice for them to have each other. Hopefully they'll be quite close. Having twins, it felt like the longer we waited, the more likely it would be that this baby would feel left out of the fun, which we didn't want.
  2. She feels it will make visits more chaotic and less enjoyable. It might for a few years, but it won't last forever and we're okay with that. See above comment about not wanting to have FIFTEEN YEARS' worth of under-fives.
  3. Nobody in the family has more than two children because it's just not sensible--bigger car, less me-time, more expenses, etc. We're different to the others in that I'm already a SAHM, so another child won't affect our bottom line nearly as much as it would if we were paying for childcare, but still. The idea that we'd need to (and are happy to) adjust our lifestyle to accommodate another child boggles their mind. Sigh

Anyway. Rant over. We're thrilled. Done with making babies (provided all goes okay) and thrilled. Grin

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 02/02/2015 14:34

I'm always amazed at people thinking their opinion matters in someone else's procreation. Whatever happened to nod and smile?

Twins must be chaotic (in a good way) so why not deal with the madness in one fell swoop? I actually think you're being quite sensible!

My MIL is an interfering old bag (Smile ). As soon as DD was born she tried to make us put baby rice in a bottle, despite her being EBF. Of course, me BFing her wasn't enough for her so that's why she was always hungryHmm . She conveniently overlooked DD was consistently 99th centile for both height and weight.
