Hello. Where have my energy, appetite and ability to maintain a consistent body temperature gone??

TerrysNo3 · 16/01/2015 23:26

Found you, thanks terry.
Brickie about the hypertension - your experience is quite different from mine and I have no medical background, but - yours sounds like classic PIH and it is common to swing from low to high BP as your meds take effect. I had crushing headaches while my meds were being tinkered with (at one point I was hanging my head on the mattress on the ward in agony, while DD slept).

But White coat syndrome has real effects. You should be able to get sent away with a 24 hour monitor which will give a real reading of your BP in a non-medical environment.

Unfortunately PIH does give you a risk of chronic hypertension in later life.

Maybe it's worth asking for a callback with your GP to discuss your risks - mine were very happy to see me and want me to pop in to get my BP checked every now and again.

Thanks for the new thread, Terry. Can't believe how chatty a group we have! :)

TinyPawz · 17/01/2015 00:18

My already huge norms seem to be getting bigger by the minute. Every time I think they can't possibly get any bigger without bursting, they go "challenge accepted". On the plus side though, I suppose it is a symptom.

DoctorDonnaNoble · 17/01/2015 05:46

Actually managed to sleep from 11 - 5 without getting up!!!

HaveTeaWillSurvive · 17/01/2015 06:30

Morning all, just checking in. Wonder if we'll be as chatty when we can talk about it in real life! I'm also swinging from boiling to freezing the whole bloomin time. Don't remember this from last time at all. Thank god I love a layer Grin

NordicDreamer · 17/01/2015 06:52

Morning! Thanks for the new thread Terry :)

FlyingSpud · 17/01/2015 07:19

Hello ladies

FlyingSpud · 17/01/2015 07:22

Who is the lovely person updating the stats? I've name changed and my due date has changed so let me know and I'll PM you.

Anyone else (maybe second timers) genuinely worrying how they're going to hide their pregnancy until 12 weeks? I'm so bloated. I had to talk to my boss yesterday and ended up holding my notepad over my bloat bump Hmm

brickiemum2 · 17/01/2015 07:34

This will (hopefully) be my third and I don't think I'll get as far as 12 weeks hiding it. Well, I know I won't as I'm going to have to ask for a new uniform at work. Already the button and zip on my trousers are tight and the two poppers over my boobs don't function any more and I keep flashing my bra. We're not really allowed to ask for different sizes once uniform had been allocated so I'm going to have to explain why I'm getting so fat I guess.

Thanks shoot I guess I'm going to have to arrange an appointment with my gp to discuss at some point but I think I'll hold of on that for a few months. I'm getting my bp measured every month by the practice nurse from now on anyway as I'm pregnant and have a history.

ShootTheMoon · 17/01/2015 07:48

spud second time for me and I already feel like my belly is squishy and huge. I tried on some mat jeans which I had ordered and they felt blissful! That really would give the game away though.

Still squeezing into my team kit for my sport but the Lycra just makes it even more obvious! I know it's just bloat but it's definitely happening!

SomewhereovertheRainbow02 · 17/01/2015 08:28

Just marking my place Smile

DoctorDonnaNoble · 17/01/2015 08:35

Nearly outed myself at work yesterday. Was going through canteen with best friend and we got to the rather lovely looking cakes. I couldn't face one and without thinking said I turned down a cheesecake the night before. With a glint in her eye, she asked if there was a particular reason. Deny, deny, deny!
Feel bad as she was my matron of honour, knows and understands what I've been through (MMC and she had several miscarriages, they've since adopted) and she can be very good at secret keeping (however, she can also be useless!).
I just want some reassurance that all is well before telling anyone. Will ask midwife if I qualify for early scan at appointment. It's only 3 weeks to wait for that.

nutelladipper · 17/01/2015 08:37

Thanks for the new thread!

I'm already looking 6 months pregnant esp by the evening! Lots of long scarves are the only way I'm hiding it at work!

Even my eldest asked why my tummy was big!

ditzzy · 17/01/2015 08:41

Just still snoozing here at the back. Actually I think I'm snoozing my way through everything at the moment.

I've actually told a few more people than intended, and they all think they're the only person who knows, so I think they'll keep it quiet. Generally on a need to know basis (for example the lovely lady who organises a girlie holiday for me every year in late summer... who was asking for deposit and flight times last week!). DP thinks I've only told the chap at work who's been smuggling me de-caf coffee Grin.

Becca83 · 17/01/2015 08:42

Morning everyone! So I did a clear blue digi this morning just to confirm (can't stop peeing on things!) and saw the words i wanted to see Smile

Woke up this morning with a super dry mouth, what's that all about? This will be my first, so Im probably going to be questioning every little thing that happens.

I have no idea how I'm going to keep this quiet for so long. Did anyone tell immediate family any earlier?

Congratulations to everyone xx

Treaclepie19 · 17/01/2015 08:49

Hi all! :) becca, ive told my parents and dh's parents.

We had a mc in may and we know we would want their support either way.

I'm also in the bloated camp. Having to cover it up with outfits. Very tricky!
