Nausea still with me. Generally 2 hours in morning and 3 hours afternoon/early eve Sad.
Gave in and bought new bras today. I was bulging out of all of my others. It was obscene!
6 weeks ATM and got booking in appt on the 30th. I had to tell my TA and head last week as I was feeling so rough. I then spent the whole week worrying in case something went wrong. As if more people knowing made it more 'real'. I also massively bloated at at times look 4 months pregnant! I have had to buy a few new tops that hide my fat belly!

spamanderson · 17/01/2015 22:03

sparkly technically pregnancy is counted 38 weeks from ovulation/conception and (assuming normal cycles) 40 weeks from your LMP. So a CB digi for example will come up with 1-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks, 3+ weeks. That counts the time since ovulation, so you add 2 weeks on to get roughly how far along you are. My LMP was 4/12 and I ovd on 22/12. So i ov'd (and conceived roughly) 3 weeks and 5 days ago but I am 5 weeks 5 days pregnant (or the drs make me 6+2 because they don't know my cycles).

spamanderson · 17/01/2015 22:06

Heysquiish! Great to see you! There's no harm in telling the people closest to you, it's a matter of how superstitious you are I suppose :) I've only told a couple if close friends and my mum, they're the people I'd wan t support from if something happened anyway :) I cannot bloody wait for another 6 weeks or so so I can tell dd1! She's going to be sooo excited ( as long as it's a little brother that is :/ )

squiish · 17/01/2015 22:10

You too spam eek 6 weeks! I saw some family today and restrained myself but I know that when it gets a tiny bit further along it will be hard to keep quiet.
I have no idea what to expect, I'm guessing I need to call the DRs Monday but then what happens? Is there some kind of book that will tell me everything Grin that would be ideal.

New30 · 17/01/2015 22:33

I've just spent the evening sewing a quilt for a baby girl due this month and was enjoying thinking about making my own one later in the year Smile

Morning all

Can't believe how fast this thread moves!

DS woke at 6 Hmm and is now in bed with us watching Lego something on the laptop. Parents of the year here.

Anyone else having really vivid dreams during early pregnancy?

DefinitelyNotElsa · 18/01/2015 07:33

FlyingSpud - Yes, most definitely having vivid dreams here. I got my BFP yesterday and had been having them for about 4 days before that. Last night, I dreamt my car got crushed at work because someone else parked their car on top of it... I don't even drive to work!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 18/01/2015 07:34

Yup, another one having very vivid dreams here. In the week before my BFP I had a very vivid nightmare Hmm

MyNameIsSuz · 18/01/2015 07:53

Can I join please? EDD 8th September, second baby, 30yo... anything else? I'm also freezing cold! Will hopefully have this one at Oxford Spires like DS. Smuggingly easy pregnancy and birth last time so am crossing everything it's the same this time! Suspect not as due to toddler exercise has severely decreased recently.

ag123 · 18/01/2015 07:55

I seem to have very rude dreams when pregnant! Blush

FlyingSpud · 18/01/2015 08:07

Glad it's not just me...

Treaclepie19 · 18/01/2015 08:15

I'm having vivid dreams too! Just woke up because of one.

monkeymoonpig · 18/01/2015 08:17

Morning all, spent most of the nite worrying -after getting out of shower last nite noticed a rash mainly on boobs also on back and tummy.....DS currently not well with ear infection (always gets a rash on face whenever unwell) so spent ages umming and ahhing about ringing out of hours doc..... decided to sleep on it and does seem much better today, only faintly visible. Problem is receptionists at my docs are so rude and unhelpful Angry i hate ringing esp on a Monday morning Confused may see in an hour and call 111 or something. Dont like to overreact but dont like to ignore either. May even be a stress rash with ds ill, so stressing will make it worse!

ShootTheMoon · 18/01/2015 08:42

Welcome newbs!

suz another Oxford person! I almost gave birth at the Spires last time but was whisked downstairs with the panic button due to a blood pressure problem. Delivery was ok too but I was less impressed about DH being sent home at 5am Angry when he would have been able to stay if we were at Spires.

MyNameIsSuz · 18/01/2015 08:57

Hooray, Shoot, Oxford spires is ace! I got taken downstairs too - great delivery with just gas and air, but when they tried to sew me up with just gas and air I couldn't handle it Sad I would definitely go there again, despite being walking distance from the wantage maternity unit!

Allypin · 18/01/2015 09:59

Well I'm 7+5 today and am still feeling fairly lousy. I've been sick every morning since 6 weeks, still got sore boobs and am so bloated I've not shifted out of my pjs all weekend - lazy days. I also have a dry mouth, am ridiculously tired and can't stop peeing! The only thing that seems to have stopped is the cramps thank goodness as I kept panicking I was coming on.

We've told a fair few people. Our main reason was for safety for me at work as I'm a teacher and have a violent child so needed other members of my team to know. It felt wrong telling school and our parents not knowing so they also know, although my not-so-darling big sister had confronted me at Christmas about it and had effectively also told my parents so they weren't surprised. She is still in the bad books big time. I also have another close friend who knows as we went to stay and I didn't want to lie...she guessed the minute I turned down a glass of wine.

Welcome to all the newbies it's very exciting! Oh and worrying! And lots of happy thoughts and hugs to those worrying .

Whilst I've been catching up on the thread there seems to be a lot if people who have booked their scan separately. I only have a booking in appointment on the 27th and assumed they sorted it. Does anyone know if I need to make the scan appointment myself? I'm in Wakefield thanks.

Dailylurker · 18/01/2015 11:23

Allypin - I booked an early scan myself but only because I am high risk of ectopic and couldn't get into the midwife until 8+4 so needed a 7 week scan.

I am having this baby at pinderfields (I'm in the mid-Yorkshire trust) I had a brilliant experience with them when I had my little girl a year ago Smile

FlyingSpud · 18/01/2015 11:35

Ally I think most of the self-booked scans have been early private scans. The midwife should book your 12 week scan during or after your booking in appointment.

nutelladipper · 18/01/2015 11:42

Hi all,
Welcome to all the newbies.

I'm 8 weeks now and time is flying for me! I've my booking in appointment is Wednesday so things will feel real then!

I've just dug out my maternity stuff but most is summer things as I've not needed it until spring really with my other two. I think I'll be switching to maternity trousers quite soon. Will lots of normal warm cardigans!

I hope everyone else is ok!
