Seen doc - all fine! Relief Grin

I had booking in appt & as wasnt sure of dates OH was off i booked my 12wk scan myself (Royal Shrews Hosp). Mw booked it last pregnancy

NatalieBee · 18/01/2015 14:03

I've had my booking in appt and the scan gets sent out to me too up in Scotland.

I am feeling super super sick.I'm 7+ 4 today! Have my travel bands on and my Jacobs cracker to nipple on but doesn't seem to be doing much Shock. Anyone else loving the effects of morning, afternoon and evening sickness Hmm

Cornberry · 18/01/2015 14:08

Snap. I'm 7+4 today and I feel like I'm dying. Been signed off work for two weeks as i can barely move. Have to force feed myself every two hours and if I move too suddenly it comes bck up :( the worst thing is that I keep thinking that I've found something I can eat and then once I've had it twice it had to be crossed off the list. My other half Is a godsend looking after me. I'm just praying this doesn't go on in to the second trimester because my life is on hold whilst I lie in bed groaning :( sorry for depressing post.

Tallalime · 18/01/2015 14:40

Hello all,

Well I've just been out for a lovely weekend. Went into London to see Wicked and then to the Tower of London to be touristy (I never went there when I lived in London) for friends 40th

Drank several undisclosed virgin cocktails, poured several drinks away... there was only one drink that didn't get away with not drinking so did pretty well. And noone suspects a thing. I must be as good at pretending to be pissed as I am at being pissed.

Allypin · 18/01/2015 16:22

Thanks Dailylurker and Flyingspud - that has reassured me that I don't need to panic about it and I'll wait until my appointment.

I won't be going to Pinderfields as we should have moved house in May providing the builders have built it and we will be back in Calderdale closer to my parents for all the babysitting Wink

Maths88 · 18/01/2015 17:05

Hi guys sorry I've been Mia but trying not to worry about every little thing is really taking its toll! Got booking appoitnment and private early scan booked for 29th and it can't come soon enough! No idea how I'm going to get through 11 days!

In terms of symptoms Ive been getting up to pee 3-5 times in the night! Boobs sore sometimes, I'm tired a lot and I've been a bit funny with foods I usually love. No nausea. Taking these as positive signs and hoping (in an odd way) that they last through to scan.

Planning on telling head teacher tomorrow - very nervous about doing this and he will be the first person I've told other than Dh so hope it goes well!

Glad to see so many new faces on this thread!

lovesmycake · 18/01/2015 17:05

Cornberry I sympathise my DH says we are in survival mode I can't move without being sick and I'm exhausted, asleep by 8 every night. I don't remember this from last time but DH says I was the same. I have gone quite tunnel vision about just getting through the day and ticking off the weeks and staying hydrated.

8 weeks today

Choccyhobnob · 18/01/2015 17:10

Wow trying to keep up with you all! After my bad pains on Thursday I was panicking that all my symptoms had gone but now tiredness, sore boobs and hunger have come back along with the odd cramp (I'm 5+4 I think). Would quite like some mild nausea though Grin. Counting down 17 days until my early private scan, just want to see a heartbeat and be reassured!

Cornberry · 18/01/2015 17:31

Lovesmycake you poor thing :( it does help to know there are others going through similar. No one I know who I've told seems to have come across MS this bad and I feel like they're some people are a bit sceptical about how horrendous it is which makes it worse. I'm hoping the pay-off might be easy labour...?!

Treaclepie19 · 18/01/2015 17:31

Good luck telling the head maths!

I am definitely feeling pregnant today.
So thirsty all the time, tired to the point I just fell asleep yet again watching TV, nauseous (not been sick bit was gagging a bit earlier) and sore boobs.
Woah work will be fun tomorrow :/
I'm so grateful to be pregnant though :) I just resent having to be at work :p

lovesmycake · 18/01/2015 18:08

Corn berry I know what you mean about people being skeptical but the truth is that everyone is different. Most people do have an easier time of it and you sound worse then me I'm still able to work at least. Interestingly I did have a good labour first time round and just like my mum have no stretch marks, which I like to think of as natures compensation for making me so shit at pregnancy in general.

It will get better, (tries to ignore flashbacks of second trimester headaches and rhinitis) Blush

DeladionInch · 18/01/2015 18:21

Hyperemesis Gravidarum - extreme sickness in pregnancy - is dangerous not least due to the risk of dehydration. It's not "just morning sickness" if you can't even keep any fluids down. Morning sickness for me is a vague feeling of nausea, last time I threw up twice the entire pregnancy. So be aware that while pregnancy isn't an illness, pregnancy-related illnesses can be severe and debilitating and shouldn't be soldiered on through iyswim Smile

Kittykitty05 · 18/01/2015 18:37

Not sure if this will help anyone with nausea and sickness but I read something about bananas being very good due to high levels of b vitamins/potassium(?). I've since had a banana ready by my bed to eat before getting up each morning. I can't say the nausea has gone, but I've not been sick again since, and am def coping better with the nausea. Worth a try!

squiish · 18/01/2015 18:37

Hi all just having a nose at the thread as not got much to report on just yet...
Sorry if a daft question, what is a booking in appt? Blush

Stoatystoat · 18/01/2015 18:41

I'm feeling sick a lot and eating digestives to take the edge off my sickness. Tomorrow is my first day at work since finding out, I was off last week with a bad back which I now know was me being pregnant.

I've bloated already, can't believe it. I'm a size 8 and five foot bugger all, there's gonna be nowhere for it to go.

pinkie87 · 18/01/2015 18:45

I have no idea what the spreadsheet is (can someone tell me please?) But I am 27, 1st pregnancy, 7+4. Edd 2.9.15 booking app 21.1.15 dating scan 16.2.15. Also had an early scan 6.1.15 and saw the little flickering heart beat.

I am so impatient and just want to get to my 12 week scan now! 4 weeks tomorrow. Time's definitely dragging right now...

Allypin · 18/01/2015 18:46

Your booking in appointment is the first one with the midwife. Mine is at my doctor's surgery and when I booked it they gave me a load of forms to fill in detailing medical and family history, although some people seem to had to book online to be then later contacted by a midwife with an appointment.

I've also got to take a urine sample with me and I think (might be totally wrong!) they take a blood sample when there. It mainly seems to be an initial consult with the community mw to go through your history and get you booked into the system. I've not had mine yet though so can't comment anymore. It seems to be usually around the 8 week point.

squiish · 18/01/2015 18:51

Thanks allypin most informative! I'll call the drs on Monday and hopefully all will be clearer.
stoat 2mrw is my first day after knowing and I feel like it will just be obvious haha. Hope the bloating goes down!

DeladionInch · 18/01/2015 18:56

squiish it's the first time you see the midwife, they make you an appointment with your chosen hospital/midwife unit/home birth team for your due date. And give you a pack of notes which describes what happens next as well as having all your details on - you should keep a copy with you in later pregnancy in case you need a hospital for whatever reason. They'll take blood, ask about your and your partners medical history, weigh you and take a urine sample. They will also ask some probing questions about your lifestyle so the can offer support eg if your partner is abusive, or to help you stop smoking. Don't get offended, they have to ask everyone just in case!

monkeymoonpig · 18/01/2015 18:58

Here in Shropshire the booking in appt usually takes around hour and half and goes through all your medical history and that of the father. They also have chat about mental health /depression etc incase you need extra support. Also go through how you will be looked after throughout pregnancy, if you're high risk (like me) then extra appts/consultant apps etc. Also take blood for various tests and urine sample. Lots of paperwork to get thru! But ive been lucky and both times i have a laugh with the mw. Tbf, ive not met a horrible mw here yet, all lovely Smile

squiish · 18/01/2015 19:04

Thanks deladion and monkey seems like there is a lot of information I'll be going through, eep. Smile

pocopearl · 18/01/2015 19:16

Marking place.

Stoatystoat · 18/01/2015 19:20

Hope you have a good day squiish. I've not been in my department that long so no one knows me all that well. Got lots to do though and hope I feel better than I've been.

Thanks for all the info about booking in, I'm clueless.

I've experience of depression so that will come up in my booking in appointment.

spamanderson · 18/01/2015 19:29

Bleurgh, appetite came back with a vengeance this afternoon.... I've cream, chocolate and McDonald's may have been consumed!

On another note, has anyone else noticed their boob skin changing? My areolas have gotten darker which I know is normal (didn't happen with my other 2 though) I've come up during the day today with loads of dark purpley brown blotches all over my boobs! It's really weird! Not sore or itchy, raised or anything, just there!

Treaclepie19 · 18/01/2015 19:37

Yeah my boobs are definitely changing!

I'm currently eating an ice lolly. I am so soo thirsty. We're watching a series on Netflix and I've been to the toilet at least once every episode.
