NFold scan's on Thursday lunch, so I'll know where abouts I should really be. I wish I was just teary with hormones - I've been getting really really angry, snippy, irritable - horrid really. Poor dh hasn't a chance - although he's been getting better at making sure I'm fed as it's gets worse when I get hungry!
I'm in maternity trousers already (!) and last time I didn't know 'til about now - just thought I'd put some weight on. Dh had to leave (to US) for 2 months the morning after we found out so I have lots of sympathy for those apart from their dearests right now. Hugs to all!

scootermum · 16/10/2006 12:06

Still cant do it.
My EDD is 24th May.My dd is 9.5 mnths old and I live in Hertfordshire if anyone can add for me..

Am in a quandry re telling my SIL im pregnant. She has just managed to get pg through her 3rd cycle of IVF.So far so good.My bro has jsut emailed to say that she is really upset however becuase her sister is pg but hadnt told her.(which was probably due to the fact that she was really depressed and wouldnt speak of babies at all-actually she has still only seen my dd once and that didnt go all that well). So do I tell her now, so she doesnt get mad I was 'concealing it'?Or do I wait a bit?
And is she actually being reasonable? She has been through a very hard time, but people will still get pg whilst she is.She cant expect to be the only one.Am I being mean or is she being a bit of a princess?Or am I being a cowbag?
I have had a mc but not anything like IVF so I cant be sure of how to act really...

twelveyeargap · 16/10/2006 12:07

waspelly - you're three weeks further on than me and I've been in maternity trousers for a week! Not the MAHUSIVE ones - the under the bump, stretchy bits over the belly kind from H&M. Some mat wear is still too big, but these are great.

Of course I had to cut about a foot off the end of every pair I bought in H&M as they're made for giants, but if I do say so myself, I've made a pretty good job. Even did ones with turnups last night.

And yes, low blood sugar turns me into a witch even when not pregnant!

I'm seriously considering going to McD's for lunch.

moomimin · 16/10/2006 12:16

Hello all, Phoned my midwife this morning for an appointment. She remembered me from DD so that was nice. Doesn't want to see me though, just booked me a scan for 3weeks today. I am soooooo scared about this scan. With ds & dd I was really excited but this one I am petrified about. Been reading too much on missed m/c, scared my self silly, I think. Also just can't believe that after 2 easy ones, it can all be ok again. Doesn't help that I feel like c* with this one and didn't with the others.

Sorry to go on, thought it might help to say it all. Dh just says I'm stupid thinking like that.

you are right megglevache there are loads of schools in the Bournemouth area. Thanks for the offer of Marmite and Mags. Marmite we are stocked up on but mags I might take you up on one day.

Gosh you guys all seem so nice!! It's really weird or am I the only one that thinks that, nice but strange

scootermum · 16/10/2006 12:17

Nothing wrong with Mcd's my friend. It pays my mortgage!(dh is a business analyst for them).Actually there probably is quite a bit wrong with it but I like quarter pounders with cheese too much..
Everything in moderation. It can be eaten as long as its in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. And they sell fruit now...OMIGOD.I have been brainwashed by the Mc'ds marketing machine!

scootermum · 16/10/2006 12:22

Moominin-I feel a bit like that about my scan, whenever it may be-no date yet.I had a missed mc with my first baby-but dd was all fine. Now I feel like I might be pushing my luck.Of course its all nonsense to feel that way, (touch wood), but thats the nagging fear.I think its quite common to feel like that.
Obviously it doesnt help that I am very superstious, (like Stevie Wonder song) and practically die every time I see a lone magpie or a pair of shoes on a table.

I guess you have to think 'what will be will be'But its not very easy is it?Blow all this waiting!

twelveyeargap · 16/10/2006 12:33

Managed to get Mr TYG to agree to TAKE me to McDonalds by saying the baby wanted a hamburger and sending him pictures from Google Images of a 9 wk gestation baby with its hands to its mouth. "cruelty, thy name is pregnant woman" Mwwwaaahhhaa.

Cute, though, that he fell for it.

OP posts:
scootermum · 16/10/2006 12:41

Quite right. What 'the baby' wants, the baby shall get!
Now I desperately want a Big Mac.All I have for lunch is a ham and philly sandwich. It wont do!

twelveyeargap · 16/10/2006 12:45

Oooh, ham and philly! Might have one of those for dinner actually, with some soup. Irish soda bread, philly on one slice, butter on the other, ham, thinly sliced cheddar, and then lettuce, tomato, scallion and cucumber chopped up, mixed in a bowl with mayo and a pinch of salt and spread on top.

OP posts:
moomimin · 16/10/2006 12:51

aghhhhhh stop it now. lol Could murder a macy d's but it's neally an hours drive to the nearest macdonalds. Not alloud to mention the md word infront of ds he goes nuts at the sound of it. loves it!

Thanks scootermum, I know you are right, "what will be, will be" but yes that waiting, ohhhhh I'm so impatient.

Creena · 16/10/2006 13:15

Ooooh, this thread is making me hungry!

Moomimim - don't worry. I feel exactly the same way. I worry constantly about this pregnancy and have all sorts of unfounded fears about it. I've read other MNers' posts saying the same thing, so I think it's safe to say that it's not uncommon to worry!

Also, I've just realised that my EDD is last! I'll be the only one left here by the end of May - oh no! I'll be sure to switch the lights off when I leave.....

JonahB · 16/10/2006 13:49

Hi Ladies,

MKG, glad I?m not the only person with a penchant for cake batter! I also adore your passion for all things peanut butter!!!

Creena, don?t worry about being the last one. I can guarantee I?ll be last in reality. Last pgy, I was due on the 5th. DS deigned to make an appearance on the 16th, with a lot of chemical and mechanical help. Every time I logged on to MN, yet another mum who was due after me had delivered. I think I cried every single time and I?m sure this time will be no different. Come and look out for me when your babies are all about a month old!

thanks creena, glad I'm not the only worrier here. I'm sure we'll all be fine but it is that waiting.

JonahB and I could be in competition for last place then, both of mine were 2 weeks late, ds did come on own accord day before induction but dd had to be rudely awoken and induced. Personally I prefered the induction, quick, hassel free and as it's nearlly an hour to the hospital from here didn't mind not having contractions on the way. lol To tell you the truth and make you feel beter creena. The French have a 41 week pregnancy so on French dates I'm not actually due til the 28th. boo hoo

Tyakit · 16/10/2006 14:32

Hi all,

I haven't posted in ages - can I join in again please? All going OK here (touch wood) and I had my 1st antenatal with consultant last week. Don't have to go back to see him again until 32wks so between times I am supposed to see 'my midwife' but I haven't found one yet! I am having at NT scan in London on the 25th Oct and have an appt for my 20wk scan on the 18th Dec.

I have added mydself into the stats list below:

These babies, eh? They just turn up whenever they feel like it, treating our wombs like hotels.... Thanks Moomimin and Jonah - I'm not expecting mine to arrive on time, to be honest. DD was 12 days late and DS 5 days early, so who knows when this one will turn up!

I've just had a phone call from the place where we're going to have a Nuchal Fold scan - they've given us an appointment on Friday 17th November (eeeek!) and they seem quite thorough. We'll get the scan, bloods analysis, a report and supporting images. Mind you, at £180 they'd better be thorough! The lady I spoke to inadvertantly caused a surge in my weepy hormones - she's given us a 9.30 appointment and said "it's best to be first thing in the morning because then you have all day to talk things over if you get bad news." I had to reply "yeeeeeees...." whilst trying not to panic.

twelveyeargap · 16/10/2006 15:02

WHAT? What a horrid thing to say. That's awful. Frankly, they should make up some other reason to try to get you in the morning. Silly woman.

OP posts:
Creena · 16/10/2006 15:21

I know! It would so easy to come up with another reason too. For example "well, you have to have a full bladder, so if you come first thing in the morning, you'll get sweet relief sooner! And be able to have a nice cup of tea without almost wetting yourself."
