We have a secret spreadsheet list of names, one each. After 24w we compare and any that are on both lists plus any I can shoehorn in become our list. I get final say after delivery. Worked well last time, we had 5 girls and 2 boys for DD. Unfortunately, both boy names have been stolen so it's back to the drawing board Smile

Jazzy oh statty one Wink my 20 week scan will be one of the last, as they do them at 21 weeks here. It's on Feb 10th.

Good luck for scans today.

bubalou · 19/01/2015 09:02

Good luck pregnant and engaged -
I'm sure all will be fine. Smile

Tori - I have had this. I assumed it's where baby had laid in the night and it feels a bit tender from the weight / change etc.

It soon went after some gentle running but for me it has happened a few times. Smile

Exciting week for scans! I've got mine right at the end on Friday. Can't wait to find out what flavour baby we've got.

A bit worried as at 19+5 I'm still not certain I've really felt the baby move. Keep thinking that maybe I have (I was convinced the other day that I made the baby jump when I sneezed, but now wondering if it was just muscle spasm XD), but it could easily just be wind (and a few times it definitely has been!).

Our most settled upon names are Taran for a boy and Ailla for a girl. Slightly unsure about Ailla now as I only recently realised that "Isla" was pronounced the same and is super popular at the moment XD! OH likes Lilliana for a girl, so we might end up going back to the drawing board if it turns out I'm cooking a girl on Friday.

Hope your consultant appointment goes okay Pregnant. Fingers crossed it won't cause any major issues for your pregnancy.

I noticed this morning, whilst walking to work and catching myself in a reflection, that I am all bump and arse. I inherited the family arse (Yay) and now my bump is making it look very strange and more pronounced than normal. Great start to a monday. Angry

good luck with all the scans today. Will check in later after a meeting or two from hell today. Envy

impatienceisavirtue · 19/01/2015 09:19

pregnant good luck - I'm sure they are just being extra cautious Thanks

I have my appt with my new midwife today. I really hope she's less ignorant than the last one and also that I don't have to get into a debate about the vba3c now that I officially have my consultant on board!

My 20 week scan is on the 29th - although I've already had several private ones as well as my 12 week one as I'm neurotic BlushBlush

Good luck with the scans today ladies!

I've not really felt anything I don't think, I'm nearly 18 weeks and second baby so trying not to fret. I was def feeling movements by this point last time.

I've got an anterior placenta this time though so I'm assuming it's that.

Chookford · 19/01/2015 09:34

Good luck for fellow scanees today!

pregnant in sure everything will be fine, it's just a precaution.

PregnantAndEngaged · 19/01/2015 09:45

Thanks everyone, will update tonight :)

fortywinx I haven't felt movement yet either (I sometimes think I do but then it seems to be, ahem, gas), I'm 18+3. Hopefully give it another couple of weeks and we'll definitely be feeling distinct movement :)

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/01/2015 09:45

Hope all today's scans go well Smile.

Does anybody have any recommendations for skinny jeans? Have heard that h+m, Topshop and ASOS are all worth a look but wondered if any of you have a definitive opinion on the matter?

bubalou · 19/01/2015 09:50

Alisvolat - I like my new look skinnies.

Smile
Jackiebrambles · 19/01/2015 09:54

I got 2 pairs of new look ones and one pair of topshop ones. I'm currently wearing my top shop ones to death as they are thicker for the cold weather!

New look ones are v cheap, £20 I think!

Chookford · 19/01/2015 09:54

alis my best skinnies are George at asda and next as they both do various leg lengths which I need as I'm short and they are by far my most comfortable.

bubalou · 19/01/2015 10:07

Yeah my new look ones were £16.99 - bargain. Smile

Rosie888 · 19/01/2015 10:36

Oh ladies i've woken up so much happier this morning reading your messages on weight gain! We're all in the same boat i guess, apart from you lucky few who have had no gain :) but i'm just going to go with it...and curb the treats a little bit Cake

alisvolat my h&m skinnies came on friday and they are amazing! I got the tregging over bump for £19.99. Slightly longer length, everyone did tell me to size up as very small sizes and id reccomend the same. 10/10

fortywinx · 19/01/2015 11:33

I have no idea how much weight I've put on (I don't own scales), but I have a mahoosive bump. I was told I was looking "thinner in the face" after a Xmas holiday spent with the last vestiges of sickness and not really eating a lot. Certainly not as much as I would eat over a normal Xmas period XD

My appetite has come back with avengeance now though. I'm trying to have porridge for breakfast and snack on healthy things like fruit (also keeps me regular, sorry TMI), but seeing as that's full of sugar, I'm really hoping I don't have a 20lb baby. I can eat half a punnet of grapes of an afternoon at the moment...

I tell myself it's better than a packet of crisps and a doughnut, but not sure whether it actually is lol

Chookford · 19/01/2015 13:27

Afternnon ladies

Anomoly scan was perfect! Baby is absolutely lovely they were the words the sonograper used! Smile I'm so relieved! Hope everyone else having scans today is well.

great news chook! Grin

bubalou · 19/01/2015 13:32

Yay chook. Congrats Smile

Zaccheryquack · 19/01/2015 13:47

Yay - glad the scan went well Chook! Got mine first thing tomorrow so nerves will probably start to kick in soon.

I haven't weighed myself since I found out I was pregnant. Hoping the breastfeeding goes well again as from what I remember that REALLY helped reduce my weight afterwards Smile.

Got to pick up my maternity shopping form next. Got my fingers crossed that everything will fit!

fortywinx · 19/01/2015 14:37

Congrats Chook! Lovely pics :)

Chookford · 19/01/2015 14:46

Thanks ladies! Smile

HexyQueen · 19/01/2015 16:27

Lovely face shot of your baby chook.
zac, breast feeding was amazing for helping get my figure back last time, it really helps pull the tummy back in.

Great news chook!

I'm one of those where breastfeeding didn't help me to lose weight. I only started losing it once I started to cut feeds out. But whilst I exercised regularly I just ate normally; I didn't have to diet to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I'd not long got back to my pre-pregnancy weight when I got pregnant again!
