The massage place I go to wouldn't do any kind of massage treatment during the first trimester and will only do a special pregnancy massage for the rest of the pregnancy.

They won't at any point during pregnancy do any kind of foot massages. I don't really know why.

I haven't heard anything about Mothercare. They had a bit of a problem last year but seem to have recovered.

That said, their click and collect service is always 2-3 days late Confused

Chook - really hope your nan is ok. DD has 2 great grandmas and it's lovely to see them together (even though one is totally batty!).

I have lots of Lush stuff from Christmas. Might ask on twitter or check their website ...

speedbird17 · 18/01/2015 16:25

The lady who I go to for massage when pg will only do foot work once ladies are term, as there are points that can stimulate labour and it is considered unsafe before 37 weeks!

Chookford · 18/01/2015 17:40

Thanks for all your good wishes ladies, my nan is in recovery looks like she will be in hospital for a week or so but she is doing ok so that's a relief! Smile.

We are having some interesting name discussions on the May thread, has anyone/everyone got names sorted yet?!

Tranquilitybaby · 18/01/2015 17:45

Such a relief Chookford, are you going to visit her?

We've got a list and pretty much decided I think Smile

PregnantAndEngaged · 18/01/2015 17:47

Chookford I thought up a list of boys names but not a formal list of girls names yet. The reason behind that is because it will be a much harder task for me and my fiancé to find a boys name we agree with. Whereas we have spoken in passing about girls names and there are lots of pretty names we both agree on so I don't foresee choosing a girls name to be difficult. However me and my fiancé disagree a lot on boys names.

I wrote the list and my fiancé actually laughed at most of them or thought they were disgusting lol, nice!

Chookford · 18/01/2015 18:05

tranquility yes I went up yesterday and will go again during the week and take my dd with me that will cheer her up! Smile we are hoping she will be allowed to come home soon.

pregnant we had the same issue with our dd we had boys names we agreed on but not girls.. Our dd was only decided when I was about 8months!

I think we have sort of decided so far out front runners are Edward for a boy but will be shortened to Ned, and for a girl we have Dolly although we both really like Betsy too! My dd is Nellie so we have an old fashioned but lovely theme going on! Grin I'm sure lots of people won't like them but we love them so that's all that matters really!

AnythingNotEverything · 18/01/2015 18:07

I think if I were due tomorrow we have names we'd happily use, but I'm now sure we've found "the name" yet. We have one boy names and 5/6 on the long girl list, probably 2/3 real contenders. It's hard.

Tranquilitybaby · 18/01/2015 18:08

Ah that's brilliant, what a relief for you and your family chookford.

chookford I like your choices, I love Nellie as a name.

So far we have : Matilda, Daisy, Violet, Hera. They are the names we both like, we have 20 more that we are mulling over before joining the list. If we had found out we were having a boy we only had Benedict, so if next DC is a boy then that's probably their name.

Alisvolatpropiis · 18/01/2015 19:01

We've got a list of names but it's likely to be a particular one for a girl.

Boys names are something of a bone of contention. DH really likes Edward however Teddy or Eddie with our surname sounds all too like Ready Brek (our surname is not Brek but v close). I really like Jasper which he no longer hates but wouldn't say he likes....yet Grin

Smugnogplease · 18/01/2015 19:04

This little chap has been called Sid since before he was conceived, so he will be called that probably, not sure on mn yet though. I love Henry and Benedict too.

htf2 · 18/01/2015 19:05

We are still debating names - we are almost decided but still might change. DH did a list the other day and surprised me a bit! Two he added are really growing on me - Clancy and Clarence. I love Clarry for short for a little boy but less sure how it all works for an adult, and can't think of a nickname at all for Clancy (being Australian, there will be a nickname!) Finley (Finn for short) is still frontrunner though. must check out the name threads again, it's been a while! Girls names would have been so easy :)

impatienceisavirtue · 18/01/2015 19:09

I can't believe it but we actually have our name choice sorted! I really thought we'd struggle for another boy's name

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 18/01/2015 19:11

My best friend said if we were struggling between a few names then to do the "Christmas card test". Basically write your name,OH name and then DC names after each other like you would in a card all together before making final decisions.

bubalou · 18/01/2015 19:23

Glad your nan is doing well chook. My NIL broke her hip in a very bad fall when she was 88 but she made a full recovery and was able to walk again and go to the shops after a while. Smile

Still struggling on names.

We like Louise, Grace and Phoebe for a girl.

Boys we like Max as our front runner. I have tons of other names I like but DH trashes them all. Confused

Tryingreallyhard84 · 18/01/2015 20:21

Chook - glad to read your nan is doing well.

Names, names, names! We have one we like for both boy and girl. Alexander for a boy and Isabelle for a girl. However, only one on each list. I like names you can shorten so when you do use their full name they know they need to pay attention or are in trouble. Grin Works with my husband anyway. He knows when he needs to get down those stairs double time when I use his Sunday name.

My husband loves Greek and Roman history and mythology so he's been looking for names in his myths books. Whoever suggested Hera; that is right up his street.

We are still undecided about finding out the gender but one good reason is to shortlist names!

I haven't a clue. Alexander was our other choice for DS but was just pipped by William. Annie was our only girls name. Both of those names have since been taken by friends / family new babies so we are stuffed!!

jazzyjenbo · 18/01/2015 20:31

We really dont know but i think it was on the june fb group the other day i mentioned some of our thoughts for girls... Middle name will be Mabel.

Must check into May thread, been neglecting it abit.

trying Hera was me :), she was the Greek goddess of the Heavens and starry skies. Before my Mum passed away we had a star named after her and when recently we were looking through Greek mythology names we found Hera and loved the meaning.
My OH little girl is called Ishbel, meaning is devoted to God, but it is shortened to Belle (pronounced Bella). She is half Italian so speaks it fluently and is already wanting to teach the baby Italian.

Zaccheryquack · 18/01/2015 20:58

Chookford so glad to hear you Nan's op went ok. Must have been such a worry for you.

Sounds like a few people have had family and midwives that are far too opinionated. Not had too many problems so far this time round. A couple of people I know changed midwife from the lady I have this time because of comments she made. She has only ever been lovely with me so can only assume that she was having a bad day when she was with them or she has been sent in some extensive interpersonal skills training.

Found out yesterday my best friend is 8 weeks pregnant. So pleased for her. She has had two miscarriages in the last 12 months so really have my fingers crossed for her!
