Great news Chook

MrsE I hope you're relaxing some now, that's sounds a bit dramatic!

I second the New Look trousers vote, v comfy and smart-looking too. Red Herring used to do some too but I've not seen any this time around.

I was really hoping to get away without a maternity coat, but I'm freezing and my bump is making my existing winter coats a little uncomfortable now...any recommendations? I might have fallen in love with Vertbaudet's 3-way parka, but £140 is a bit much in my mind...though I may crumble and order it yet!

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 16:14

Wow so detailed chookford, bet you're thrilled x

jazzyjenbo · 15/01/2015 16:39

Yay chookford, fab news! I will gav a look at your scan pic later.
Elizabeth, i can't wait for your gender scan results!
Re pain: i've been getting BH since my scan on monday... I didnt mention at the time but we were in there for almost an hr with a trainee and the sonographer and they had to scan through my side at one point to get heart pics.. Think all the prodding has upset my tummy abit, also getting dragging feeling.. Ohh the joys!!

Awww thanks ladies, was such a relief! Just have to get through Mondays anomly scan then I may actually start to relax finally!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/01/2015 17:19

Chook that's good news. Smile

Glad I'm not the only one to loose weight. I dare say it will all have piled back on by the end. It's just worrying for me as in all 5 previous pregnancies ive put on up to half a stone by now.

If I'm very honest I'm feeling no better in fact a little worse. So Dh is going to ring the Dr in the morning to see if I can have a different anti biotic. I'm dreading going back in to hospital.

HexyQueen · 15/01/2015 17:26

Lovely scan chook :)

We used a snuggle nest last time to co-sleep tranquility, fab for late night dream feeds cos the covered metal frame is completely protective of baby stopping you from rolling over. Planning to use it this time too.

You've been through the wars MrsE, big hugs. As for weight loss I started at 8 stone 4lbs, went down to exactly 7 stone with hyperemesis, even now at 19 weeks am only just up to 8 stone again, yet with large bump & massive & growing norks. My consultant explained the baby is a complete parasite and will take everything it needs & you have, leaving you fucked and it fine. As example of malnourished white western women he cited research done from Russian gulags, a famine in Netherlands and women during/post war who all gave birth to absolutely healthy babies. It calmed me down, though he is ridiculously brusque & straight talking about things. He expects I'll put enough weight on in T2 and T3 to be fine when (if) this bloody vomiting ever ceases.

htf2 · 15/01/2015 17:47

Congrats chook and you do have lovely pictures!
Mrs E I am just back to my starting weight of 8.5 stone at 20 weeks after first trimester weight loss, none of the midwives /doctors have thought this a problem! Bit mystifying as to where baby and bump is coming from really ...
I love the sound of these sleepyheads, I hadn't heard of them.It just sounds like they provide peace of mind for putting them down beside me (in the daytime, don't see how we would fit DH, baby and me)

Thanks for all the work trousers advice, I will have to get some new look ones. and soon!

rolypolybird84 · 15/01/2015 17:50

Argh! I have gained 1 stone 1 lb!!! 15 freaking pounds in 17 weeks!!!

I still go to slimming world as lost 3 stone (and only had one stone until target!!) so thought I would keep going to monitor my insatiable appetite healthy eating.

My slimming world consultant described my weight gain as "a massive amount of weight" this week during group. Bugger.

I'm very conscious of my weight after a year of extremely hard work I am determined to remain healthy this pregnancy!!!

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 17:54

That wasn't very nice or sensitive of your slimming world leader, urgh.

I haven't gained anything yet at 17+3 weeks, but my BMI is already 36, so I'm very relieved at that.

excitedbutsick · 15/01/2015 17:59

MrsE I've lost 11kg so far from seeing my GP back in October but have no bump at this stage, although my weight is being monitored as part of a research study I am taking part in. Baby will be taking everything that they need from you, but if you are worried bring it up with your midwife or GP to put your mind at rest.

Myself and DH went to have a look at baby stuff today to see what we like and ended up coming away with a pram and breast pump. We have made a list and excel spreadsheet to keep track of exactly what we are spending and what we still need to get, so hopefully won't be going mad.

rolypolybird84 · 15/01/2015 18:05

Ha ha tranquility I didn't think so either! Off to the gym...

I had a dream last night that I had the baby (at 17 weeks) and because it was so early I kept forgetting I'd had it and kept forgetting to feed it...

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 15/01/2015 18:09

Thrilled to show you all a pic of my little DAUGHTER !!!. sonographer said she looks to be long but stringy so taking after her Daddy. Both absolutely thrilled, I admit I cried when she said as I know how thrilled my Mum would have been to have a Granddaughter.

jazzyjenbo · 15/01/2015 18:13

Wahoo!!!! Another girl, so pleased for you elizabeth, i'm sure your mum would be so proud, will you name your daughter after her.

OP posts:
Chookford · 15/01/2015 18:23

elizabeth massive congrats on your baby girl! I know how much it meant to you to have a daughter ( although a boy wouldn't Have been loved any less!) you must be thrilled!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 15/01/2015 19:19

Another day of fab scan news and pics. Grin Congrats to you all.

Elizabeth - that scan is scarily detailed. Amazing!

Excitedbutsick - I've got a spreadsheet as well. Haven't bought anything yet but the list is ready with estimated costs to get an idea. Not cheap these babies! Smile

JennyOfOldstones · 15/01/2015 19:22

Congrats elizabeth!

roly I have put on nearly a stone too, half of this was in the three weeks of morning sickness now known as the 'cheese on toast' weeks!
