Hope you are doing ok Mrs E Flowers

Good luck for all of you with scans tomorrow.

After worrying this morning, baby has been moving loads tonight Grin little monkey.

I've got to try and get some sleep, been watching Breaking Bad for the second time and its the most difficult show to turn off. I've been up so late the past couple of nights watching it!

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 14/01/2015 23:14

rolypolybird my 20week scan is 10th February, the one tomorrow is a "cheat" private scan cos we are impatient people.

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 00:05

Oh MrsE scary stuff. Glad you're at home now though. Take it easy.

Good luck tomorrow Chookford I hope all is ok.

I'm glad I'm not the one that thought the midwife rude. It's really grated on me since.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/01/2015 00:53

This baby is definitely making sure it's my last! After eating nothing all week at all, just drinking gallons of water, I finally managed to eat small amount of dinner this eve. My mum had swanned in bringing meals earlier today. So I'm sat up in bed struggling to breathe but now with heartburn?! How is that even possible? There's nothing inside me! This really is the pits. Sad

Emz1989 · 15/01/2015 07:02

Oh dear MrsE sounds like you've been through a really tough time - sorry to hear about the heartburn now too!! Just keep thinking about that strong, healthy baby you're growing inside you!!
I must admit as a first time mum, I completely underestimated pregnancy and everything that comes along with it!
I'm 17 weeks today, haven't had any sickness since about week 10 and yet I've woken up with horrendous nausea every day this week and was awfully sick before work yesterday! Why why why would this be back with such a vengeance now?!!
Good luck those of you with scans today and tomorrow - how exciting that in around 3 weeks we should all be past the half way point!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/01/2015 07:32

Ahh thankyou emz. I can't really say I didn't know what I was getting into though, so I only have myself to blame. Wink Fortunately im one of the lucky ones that will be radically better the moment the baby is born. I think the easiest pregnancy was my 2nd, which was my dd, but ive found all the other pregnancies very hard going, all boys, little tikes. This day next week will be scan day,

Fx to everyone for reaching the magic half way point. Good luck to those struggling. And those feeling bloomy and lovely EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy Wink

bubalou · 15/01/2015 07:34

Hope you're ok mrsE.

I can really sympathise from my 2 months bed bound from hyperemesis and I wish I could offer some kind of advice but there isn't any thing to do other then eat what you can, drink lots and rest, rest, rest.

It will pass. I found on the days I was feeling better I was so excited I would go into town shopping or out for lunch and then would 'relapse' and be horrendously ill.

Sending you lots of hugs for a speedy recovery.

Naughty babies! Smile

Tryingreallyhard84 · 15/01/2015 07:50

Mrs E - I second everyone's well wishes here and also to rest up a bit (or as much as you can).

I also second people's recommendations for New Look trousers - not extortionate in cost and comfy. Also good for another short @rse here. Smile I also wonder why if such comfortable trousers exist, why aren't non maternity trousers the same. Grin

Good luck scan-ees today. Wonder how the figures are going to change over the next few days/weeks?

PregnantAndEngaged · 15/01/2015 07:53

Get well soon Mrs E, that sounds scary :(

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 08:02

Has anyone used a Sleepyhead or similar with their babies? Ive bought one to cosleep but now I'm wondering whether to send it back and get a bedside sleeper cot instead.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/01/2015 08:45

I suppose the good thing about being really ill is that you have no choice to rest. I can't even manage to get from the bed to the bathroom without choking and feeling as though I will pass out, so it enforces you to rest. I'm not feeling any better yet. Was hoping by now the abs would have kicked in. Each day at a time I guess. Sad

fortywinx · 15/01/2015 08:47

Hope you're on the mend MrsE. Sounds like you're having a rough time of it :(

I also have New Look smart black trousers which are great for work. I actually think I need to get a second pair as a lack of tumble drier means that it's hard to wash and dry them mid-week.

Congrats to those who've had scans! Even more boys! Definitely a skew towards the boy corner so far in this group. I'm convinced I'm having a boy, but perhaps I will be proved wrong and all of the girls will come out of the woodwork towards the end of the month!

Good luck to anyone having a scan today!

mrsE hope you start to feel better soon, you really are a trooper!

Chookford · 15/01/2015 09:27

Thanks for the good luck ladies, I want to puke Sad

Smugnogplease · 15/01/2015 12:00

tranquility I'm planning to get a sleepy head to use in the day and inSide a hired bed nest, so will have both too if that makes you feel better;) mine all loved being swaddled so in hoping that the sleepyhead will help him to sleep a bit better and the bed side cot as I don't want to get up at all!!

Hi all

MrsE, hope you are okay...sounds rough!!

I have a question for you all, is anyone else getting cramp like pains quite low down? Sometimes on one side and then sometimes across both? I don't have a UTI so know it's not that? I do feel like my bump has suddenly grown so unsure if its stretching pain? I found out my placenta is low anterior this week so stupidly read the leaflet they have me and am worried it might be associated to that but don't have any bleeding? I've also been lifting my toddler so might just be over doing things?

Sure I'm fine but don't remember these cramp feelings last time?

Thanks

X

JennyOfOldstones · 15/01/2015 12:52

tori I feel your pain, I am starting cold number 3 in 2 months! The baby has certainly zapped my immune system, I never normally get ill! Flowers

Thelovecats · 15/01/2015 13:27

Newbie sounds like it could be round ligament pain?

Tryingreallyhard84 · 15/01/2015 13:44

Newbie - what lovecats said, sounds like round ligament pain. Disconcerting when anything "hurts" around that area though.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 15/01/2015 13:49

Can I ask about weight loss ladies? I know it's possible to loose in first part of pregnancy, although has never been my experience. I'm 19 wks today and so far lost 10lbs. I'm putting on size on my tummy and boobs in fact I've got a bigger bump than most at this stage, but getting a bit worried baby isn't getting enough. I could afford to loose a bit at the beginning, but it's worrying me now.

I certainly haven't had any weight loss myself but what I do know is that babies are parasites (in the nicest possible way!) so your body prioritises what they need above what you need. So in all likelihood they are getting exactly what they need!

Think about the babies born to malnourished women in the third world for example.
