Congratulations Elizabeth. Fab news!

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 15/01/2015 20:11

thanks all :). trying I know it was quite weird to start, OH wanted to have 4d as he wanted to see if her little face looked like me, he is wanting a little me.
chookford a little boy would have been awesome too but yes for me a little girl is really special, especially as she will be born only 2 years after her Grandma passed away. We are really wanting to include "Violet" in her name somewhere so she has a link to her Grandma jazzy .
I can highly recommend Take A Peek at St Helens if anyone is local ish to there and was thinking of a private scan in future. The lady was so kind, really took her time, they left us alone to pick our images (we got 2 free in package) and weren't pressured to buy extras. We ve booked a cheeky 30 week scan so we can put all our scan pics in a frame for her nursery.

katbags · 15/01/2015 20:12

Congrats to all the scan ladies - lovely news!

roly I reached the one stone on mark this morning. I definitely ate through my nausea in the first few weeks - and seemingly didn't stop! I'm getting in all the good stuff as well now so not worrying too much. Just manically belly oiling to try to ward off any (more) stretchies Grin

cuphat · 15/01/2015 20:17

Congrats to those of you who have had scans today!

Alisvolatpropiis · 15/01/2015 20:46

Found you!

Lovely to see all happy news.

Will have to properly catch up with the thread now

Hi all,

I've not posted on in a while.
Sorry to hear you have been so ill mrsE.
Great news on your girly scan news Elizabeth.
Is it weird that i keep thinking that as there have been so many boys at the scans then this means i might have a girl as the numbers are bound to balance out....haha who knows.
I tried aquanatal tonight. Was quite good. Think I'll go back. Just 6 ladies and a few were at the class for the first time too.
Also think i felt a few kicks the past 2 nights. I wonder if there will be any tonight.

rolypolybird84 · 15/01/2015 21:20

jenny and kat I'm so glad it wasn't just me! Your cheese on toast weeks sounds remarkably similar to my bagel week...Grin

Congrats on the fantastic scan elizabeth and we are getting closer to our 20 weeks Smile

X

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 15/01/2015 21:20

Oooh sparkle what did you do in your class, I quite fancy giving one a try. I did also think the same thing about the number of boys which is hilarious that I thought it would somehow mean I was having a girl.

Chookford · 15/01/2015 21:27

I can actually see my belly moving with baby kicking and poking me tonight! Smile such a funny thing to watch!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 15/01/2015 21:45

Grin I have just been thinking the same thing, Chookford. Movement has been stronger over the last week, I've certainly felt it every day. Today it was even strong enough to be aware of it while I was teaching, whereas before it was only if I was sitting quietly. This is what I remember it being like, I'm feeling much more confident about it now it's like this Smile

Congratulations to all scannees, Elizabeth how lovely yours is a girl. I know you'd have been happy with either but it's particularly lovely for you.

Been reading and running the last few days as dh away and organising dd and work is crazy! Dh back tomorrow so am looking forward to putting my swollen feet up Wink

Chookford · 15/01/2015 21:47

pas it's so lovely isn't it! Does reassure you so much when they are moving and jumping about...

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 15/01/2015 22:09

pas it was lovely, ever funnier that she initially had her hands up over her face hiding, but she soon moved round so we could see what she was. I do love feeling the little movements, mine slightly duller as sonographer told me I had an Anterior Placenta so wouldn't feel them as strongly.
I am just amazed by the technology now, thinking about how 50 years ago there was barely anything for reassurance at all.

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 22:47

Aww Elizabeth so pleased for you, your mum will be looking down so thrilled and proud I'm sure. Welcome to our club, we need to up the numbers! Lol

Emz1989 · 15/01/2015 22:48

Wow more gorgeous scan pictures. Seeing them and hearing all of your positive scan news is really keeping me going.... I feel like I'm living in the land where time stood still at the mo!!!

htf2 · 16/01/2015 07:28

sparkle, Elizabeth, I thought the same thing about evening out the boys and I am a mathematician by background so should know better :P Also, I was completely wrong and we have a son :) Congratulations Elizabeth on the little girl! Our scan photo is not great quality, and he was head down so not cooperating too well, but my DH thinks he has the cutest nose ever :P

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 16/01/2015 07:48

htf I think it's a lovely clear image of him, congratulations on a little boy, I do agree with your OH he has a cute little nose, is he resembling you or OH at the moment? They all look so delicate on the scans, it's amazing.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 16/01/2015 08:23

Just sat here, casually doing some "work" (Let's be honest, I'm on mumsnet ) and I think I just felt some weird movement. Its the same place I think I felt it last night too. Rather odd. Confused

htf2 - it may be a bit blurry round the edges but you can certainly see that little button nose and its still a fab picture in my mind. Grin

fortywinx · 16/01/2015 08:27

Congrats to Elizabeth and htf on your scans. Lovely pics!

Anyone else really glad that it's Friday? Grin

jazzyjenbo · 16/01/2015 09:10

Good morning everyone....
Woke up to 2 dead fish in my tank this morning Shock .... Usually i really couldnt care less but think the hormones are making me mad! I'm sad they died.... Lol, on the plus side we get to take the kids to pick a couple of new ones over the weekend, the ones we had were older than them (approx 8 yrs old).

Has anyone with older school age kids been looking at school hols and bank hols over late may/june.... I'm abit anxious that dd2 will decide to put in an appearance over late may bank holiday weekend.... That last week is also school holiday week, i can see me now starting to labour looking after 2 kids and stressing that dh will get home from work.... Also the first weekend of june is party in the park in manchester, we live right nxt to the park and traffic is mad! They shut loads of roads etc
Lol - i know everything will prob b fine, just finding sumthing else to stress about.... Everything seems alot more complicated when preggers doesnt it!!??

katbags · 16/01/2015 09:16

Me, me forty! I'm wearing make up for the first time all week in celebration of feeling more human after some rough days - Friday is gonna be a good day!

Hope we all have fab Fridays Flowers

Tryingreallyhard84 · 16/01/2015 09:45

Jazzy - that sounds like the type of things I'd worry about as well. I can see why you'd worry about it though. Those fish did very well to get to 8 years old (I presume any way, I know little about fish).

forty - so glad its Friday. I have a hen do this weekend...luckily, nothing to raucous. Nice fascinator building session and then games, drinks (lime and soda anyone?) and a possible takeaway. I best get to the gym this afternoon in anticipation.

katbags - glad you're feeling even a little better.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 16/01/2015 09:45

...and as we can clearly see, I'm still "working" really hard at home. I really best get the rest of this draft audit report read.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 16/01/2015 09:49

Loosing all hope of getting to the theatre next week for my bday. Waiting for the Dr to call as I'm no better. Just totally pants really. I'm hoping they might just try another antibiotic?!

Chookford · 16/01/2015 10:10

htf congrats on your baby boy! Lovely news!

jazzy I'm due the Sunday before May break holiday, so I'm stressing about that looking after my dd and going into labour and dh getting home! I'm hoping either I'm a little earlier or a little late so get the holiday out of the way!
