Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Bangles things can definitely jump along. Last time I needed monitoring from very early on (some concerns about DS), I'd been at 2cm for over 24hrs. Was checked still 2cm, then suddenly throwing up every where (midwife hadnt even had time to step away from me), pain and contractions suddenly intense. So they checked me again (less than 5mins later) 4cm.

Took up to labour ward. Couple of hours later I wanted pethadine. Was checked 6cm injected with pethidine, literally a few seconds later I was 10cm and pushing (midwife shocked). DS was born less than 25minutes after that pethadine injection.

BanglesSpangles · 22/01/2015 13:03

Blimey, you have to wonder why there are these 'guidelines' that you should be dilating a cm an hour, when clearly nobody seems to be doing that except in text books!!

donkir · 22/01/2015 13:19

My first contraction was at 11.30pm in hospital by 3.30am because they were busy they refused to examine me saying it would be ages yet as was first baby. I made them come back in after half an hour as felt like needed to push. Reluctantly they examined me and I was fully dilated and ds was born at 5.15am.

Congratulations Memphis. Its all getting very exciting now for us ladies.

HelKat207 · 22/01/2015 16:38

Who do I message about the Facebook group? I'm rubbish at joining in on here but I'd love to keep updated/in touch with you all and to share pictures!

I can barely walk today and my legs look like my 86 year old grandmothers Sad I'm waddling around, back pain, rib pain, braxton hicks all day every day, sharp stabbing pains in my pelvis, if I bend to pick something up I can't straighten out again and an itchy bump that can't be scratched if that makes any sense? The skin is so stretched its gone numb?! Confused

Thank god I've got a fab mum to pick my boys up school for me, otherwise they'd be doing sleepovers!!!!

Moan moan moan. Sorry ladies x

donkir · 22/01/2015 16:45

Bit of a birth story from me. Went too quickly for epidural and my heartrate went to 230bpm, the poor student mw nearly fainted as she had never seen a heartrate go that fast. I had to be cut a bit as they needed to get him out as they were unsure if his heart was also going over 200. Monitors were all going crazy.

Mum and dh ran in as I was pushing him out, he was back to back and came out facing upwards. been a bit shell shocked all day and apart from a little hold this morning I have only just been able to hold him. We are now home after I went in to shock. I haven't slept since yesterday morning. One mw found it funny that I shouted 'i can't do it, I have no desire to be an earth mother give me drugs Grin'
Ds is totally in love I am so blissed out right now Smile dh is in total awe and telling me how proud he is of me. He is having baby tonight for feeds so I can sleep.

Memphisbelly · 22/01/2015 19:22

Oh and in research conducted Wink I had 3 sweeps over 24 hours by 3 different mw and none were anywhere near as painful as the male doc who did one last week on me

LittleMissSunshine33 · 22/01/2015 19:31

Well done Memphis it's great you got him home the same day! Congratulations Thanks

GeekyHybrid · 22/01/2015 19:33

Well done Memphis, I think your request for drugs was simply 'honest'!! Hope you get some rest tonight after all your hard work / exertions. That was a stupendously high heart rate. Get rested - that's an instruction! ;-)

This afternoon I managed to sand the door down ready for painting, including all the fiddly bits. I had a moment of inspiration and found the dressing gown, the hat however was found by hubby, looking somewhere that I'd already looked :-/ We've sorted more of the clothes out so the washing machine is loaded ready for tomorrow. Just choosing CD's for the hospital bag. Eeek.

BanglesSpangles · 22/01/2015 20:47

Excellent work, memphis- time for a well deserved massive sleep, i think!

So did you know that donnie was back to back?

Just did a mercy dash to tescos for milk (and milky ways...sshhhh)- heartburn's made an unwelcome appearance again!

OP posts:
Memphisbelly · 22/01/2015 20:53

I said the evening before that I had pain in my backside (sign of being back to back) she said it was possible but they usually turn, ds did at very last minute but Donnie didn't apparently they scanned me at ladt minute but it all happened so fast

Bangonthedoor · 22/01/2015 21:01

So glad you got to go home nice and quickly memphis Smile

GeekyHybrid · 23/01/2015 07:18

Either my phone's not working / refreshing right or we've had a very quiet night! Is it 5 babies since Saturday?! I guess the excitement has worn everyone out Shock I've already got the washing machine going, is this the infamous nesting thing kicking in me wonders Shock

Bangonthedoor · 23/01/2015 07:25

I was thinking the same geeky!

I've got a horrible cold and sore throat which I really want to get did of before labour day comes. I'm sure it wont make a difference when I'm actually in labour but just want to be feeling my best.

Scan this morning to see how baby is behaving Smile

Hope everyone has a nice day

Bangonthedoor · 23/01/2015 07:25

*get rid of

JacktheLab · 23/01/2015 07:27

morning all,

I think we've been mostly quiet, some posting going on on fb but maybe it's the calm before the storm?

I'm up and not as exhausted as I was last night, I really thought I might have to go to bed at eight last night, but managed half ten (woo hoo, adult bedtime!) and I didnt chuck DH into the spare room for snoring, was just about to when I fell asleep again ;)

I'm planning my last for a long time day on the sofa, going to watch terrible tv, crochet/knit and relax, do need to do some washing/tidying up and I should go through the hospital bags again to check I have everything I need. Think this afternoon I might have a little potter around town and then I'm set....

Stupidly I'm getting a bit anxious about movements, I think the end is in sight and I really just want to get her out and I'm finding the last couple of days worrying for mosty irrational reasons!

BanglesSpangles · 23/01/2015 08:09

Morning all, so cold over here!

Jack I'm feeling the same on the movements front- i guess he's just running out of room so can't make as big a movement as a couple of weeks ago but I'm coming perilously closer to over analysing again!

OP posts:
GeekyHybrid · 23/01/2015 08:10

Enjoy relaxing jack, whilst we get the chance! I'll relax once this house / nursery is sorted Confused

bang I just worry about how one is supposed to do all the breathing exercises they recommend for labour with a congested nose!! Having been congested since the beginning I find it hard enough to breathe without whistling as it is Blush

purpleteapig · 23/01/2015 09:54

Enjoy your last day of chilling out for a while Jack! I'm the same with movements: I'm constantly poking my stomach to get a response - my husband keeps telling me to leave the poor baby alone!

We seem to have had a influx of boys over the past few days - where are all the girls? Although if I remember rightly, there are more boys expected than girls in this Feb group from those who know the gender...
