frenetic nooo bath away and enjoy.. it cannot bring on labour and if it did you are ready for him.

Memphisbelly · 21/01/2015 22:11

cookie 4 mins apart but not mega strong hoping waters be popped shortly will intensify them

Ticktick · 21/01/2015 22:36

Congratulations tonight lovely names for your little girls. Are they identical twins?

Good luck memphis sounds like you've made good progress already. Hope you have a good night and a prompt baby tomorrow :)

I'd love to hear birth stories of anyone willing to share. As a first timer all I know is what you see on one born!

mildatheart · 21/01/2015 22:47

Aw congratulations to Jen and Amy and tonight. Loving the names.
I'm currently in HDU where I've been since Tuesday having my steroids and subsequent insulin drip. Worst part is having to do a blood test every hour. I'm knackered.
I was going to be induced on Fridsy but after discussion with my consultant about the baby size she's booked me in for an elective c section on Weds. I feel do much better about the birth now. I'll be exactly 37 weeks and my baby's projected weight is 4kg which is around 8lb 13.
Good luck Memphis, thinking of you.
I'm all for birth stories, especially sections!

longbottom · 21/01/2015 22:49

Hope your not up all night Memphis, I had DD at 5.25am after being induced at 5pm with the gel. My waters had already gone but she was meconium so monitored and on bed whole time. DD was also back to back and came out face first, they normally turn but she didn't!

longbottom · 21/01/2015 22:51

Oh wow, sounds like a horrid time Mild, but the end is close. Hope it all goes ok!

Memphisbelly · 21/01/2015 23:00

hope your ok mild what a crap few days for you.

long they have given me tablets to try and get me to sleep a bit im shattered but its intense just on my phone as a focus until dh can come back

Ticktick · 21/01/2015 23:20

Oh gosh, just squeezed my boob and colostrum came out. Feeling a bit freaked, nothing has ever been squeezed out my boob before. Hmm Pretty worrying as soon there will be a baby squeezed out of my fanjo!Shock Reality check, stuff just got real !

blankfornames · 21/01/2015 23:36

Wow, than you Why! The surprise is back on so!!

Beautiful names!
Best of luck Memphis!

longbottom · 21/01/2015 23:39

Fingers crossed then Memphis, I managed to sleep during contractions after I had pethidine, it did make me drool and literally pass out but it had worn off by the time I was pushing and got me through the last stages. Sending you stretchy vibes, how many cm are you dilated?!

longbottom · 21/01/2015 23:41

Tick, it does all feel very real doesn't it, especially with people having babies and the labour updates. It will be us soon Grin

Memphisbelly · 21/01/2015 23:47

im hoping for pethadine soon I liked it last time and got sleep. they examined me at 9am and I was 1-2cm not examined me again yet usually its 24hr from pessery but will do it soon im just trying to focus on something until dh can come back hence being on mn

Memphisbelly · 22/01/2015 01:07

waters just went on their own with an audible pop....This is turning into a live birth thread Grin Shock

freneticfox · 22/01/2015 01:12

Ooh, imminent baby?

BanglesSpangles · 22/01/2015 02:30

Oooh! Wonder if theres any progress- betting there will be another baby here by the morning!

Bad combination of the house being stuffy and sore tooth means my face has swollen up and am feeling really achy. Have come downstairs for a paracetamol and a stretch... Back to sleepy land soon, i hope!

OP posts:
Memphisbelly · 22/01/2015 02:51

cervix is now short. pains are quite bad but only just dialating slowly now. had a cry as im so disapppointed. going on drip in morning

JacktheLab · 22/01/2015 03:35

Mild, hope you are ok? I'll be getting my section on Monday will try to let you know how it goes before Wednesday!

Memphis, your body is getting there hope you are not too frustrated and stressed out? Many things will start to ramp up before you have to get the drip?

Frenetic, I'd say the bath is obviously the right thing for you right now, never heard of it bringing on labour, but as pp said baby would be fine if he came now ;)

GeekyHybrid · 22/01/2015 05:29

Morning folks. Hope you're getting some sleep now memphis, or things are ramping up! I'm awake because I decided to stay up to watch Wolf Hall instead of the usual early bedtime. Hubby's just gone to work and I've been processing to-do lists since his alarm went off! Hey ho, may as well get a start and put those towels in the wash, it's supposed to be a dry sunny day here so fingers crossed etc.

Honeybird · 22/01/2015 06:32

Feeling for you Memphis, being told no dilation is the worst. I was stuck at 5cm for 5 hours and just sobbed and screamed at people by turns.

Hope the night has gone well, either some rest or some serious progress!

mildatheart · 22/01/2015 06:40

Hope all is going well Memphis and your beautiful baby arrives soon to mKe you forget this hideous part.
Last night was
Much better, only one on HDU so very calm. Had around 5 hours sleep ( still with hourly finger pricks but able to get back to sleep straight away) so feel much more human.
Hopefully allowed home today with a super strong steroids baby. I am picturing him like a baby circus strongman with a leopard skin leotard and a black handlebar moustache.

trukevoli · 22/01/2015 08:16

hope you got some rest Memphis! not long now.

congratulations Tonight's!

Mild hope you get out soon.

Minichuch · 22/01/2015 08:36

Oh my word - well that's as polite as I can be - I've woken up this morning with what feels like a bruised coccyx - is that possible? I'm guessing Jnr has shifted during the night - currently half perched on my chair at work - this is sore I have new found respect for those who have suffered spd

Hope all new babies are doing well and good luck to those waiting now

longbottom · 22/01/2015 08:37

Hope your ok Memphis, been thinking of you!

I'm starting the housework, the health visitor is coming at 11.30 and the place is a shit hole!

purpleteapig · 22/01/2015 08:43

Hope things are progressing well Memphis. Your description of muscle baby made me smile mild - I had steroids first time round and was half expecting to see some mini biceps on ds!

Just had someone ask me if there were 'any signs' this morning, and I'm only just 38 wks, arrrgh! That's going to get old quickly.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 22/01/2015 09:24

Wow its been busy overnight. Memphis I hope either things progressed or you got some rest.

DS was up in night but this morning is happy and bouncy. Fingers crossed he's all recovered now.

I'm exhausted. I really really am. This PGP is beyond hell. I cannot take this for another nearly 3weeks. I need some sleep and you know just 15mins without being in agony would be nice, even better if I could move without pelvis locking up and the agonising pains in lady parts, legs and back.
