Right, I've put a second page on the spreadsheet to keep track of babies-

Thought it'd be interesting to satisfy my curiosity when babies were born in relation to their EDD (eg 38+2 etc etc)... I've not actually been able to fill any in yet as I've moved the original sheet around so much, so if anyone has info, let me know!

ooh, and if anyone wants to add in the gory details of their birth, feel free!- I'm thinking pain relieve, interventions, all that kind of jazz

I may use my maternity leave doing a study of people's births :D

LittleMissSunshine33 · 21/01/2015 13:52

Congratulations tonight!! What good sizes! Glad all are well! Thanks

My SIL went to a medium last night I'm not usually one to believe in this but my OH Gdad came through sang his London song he always used to sing to us and said tell Melanie (me) all is good and thumbs up! So strange, I was starting to panic about labour etc but has strangely made me feel ... Content! Smile

LittleMissSunshine33 · 21/01/2015 13:53

Fingers crossed it will start for you soon Memphis good luck :)

GeekyHybrid · 21/01/2015 13:59

Congratulations tonights Thanks Thanks

It's all getting quite exciting now! 38w mw appointment today, measuring right on 50th percentile again and head engaged so any time really. Except really don't want to until February when OH qualifies for PL. Fingers crossed.

why I hope your ds recovers soon, sickie kids are no fun. Got to admit I worry how I'll deal with stuff like that, my mom was no natural nurse that's for sure.Confused At least you've got good excuse for not cleaning up Grin

purpleteapig · 21/01/2015 14:09

Massive congratulations Tonight! :-)

Honeybird · 21/01/2015 14:12

Well done tonights! Many congratulations!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 21/01/2015 14:54

Geeky - by DH qualifying for pat leave do you mean enhanced pay wise? Because I thought entitlement to leave and statutory pay was based on EDD not on actual birth date.

DS made it until DH popped back at lunch time, without being sick. But as soon as we gave him his calpol he was throwing up again. Thank god DH was here to help with clean up (plus i managed to get a bowl under him fairly quickly) and I'd got DS on old blankets on top of the sofa. Managed to get calpol in him by giving 2.5ml, wait 5mins, next 2.5ml wait 5mins, final 2.5ml. He's had a sleep and brightened up since then and eaten a cracker. Fingers crossed he'll keep getting better now.

On the dealing with that kind of thing, some how you just do. I still couldn't deal with someone else's kid being sick but somehow I can just about manage with DS. - This comes from someone who wondered how they'd even manage a dirty nappy, never mind sick. Tbh the worst part is that he keeps saying "mommy help me" - that's heart breaking.

Memphisbelly · 21/01/2015 15:06

I don't do sick, blood or poo ever but you somehow manage your kids. I cant even manage my own sick or blood. couldn't sort another kids eitherGrin ds is fine though even 'wipe me bum mummy it stinks' Grin

Mimosa1 · 21/01/2015 15:20

Congratulations Amy and Tonights - so exciting!

Tomorrow is my last full day of work before ML. I will be 19 weeks exactly and cannot wait.

Reassuring to hear that bodily functions from your own children are not as revolting as one's own/other children... Grin

Mimosa1 · 21/01/2015 15:20

39 weeks I mean!

freneticfox · 21/01/2015 15:31

Congrats tonights! Happy dance time :)

longbottom · 21/01/2015 16:15

My replacement hasn't even been found yet, so I'm working full pace and no one to hand over to in two weeks! I will be skipping out of work on the 6th feb!
I've got my health visitor visit in the morning, not worried though as I work closely with them on a daily basis!

BanglesSpangles · 21/01/2015 16:17

blimey mim you really lasted the distance! I thought was doing well by saying i'd go off at 37+6 weeks!

Just finally admitted defeat and have booked my swollen gums a dentist appointment- tried the floss and the mouthwash and it went down for a day or two but is back with a vengeance and I'm paranoid all my teeth are going to drop out :D

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. We have chosen Martha and Annie for names. They have both managed to latch on and feed and are both sleeping peacefully. I'm feeling very well and hoping to get up on my feet soon.

How do people feel about posting birth stories? Don't want to freak anyone out!
