Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

memphis That's all right then. Just from your post I wondered if you thought it was a lot less (back when my dad had it done mom says it was only 6weeks to wait for test).

The time it takes to get all clear is why we paid for DH rather than wait any longer for our PCT to stop mucking about and make a decision on whether they were going to offer the service. We don't want to DTD until he's got all clear. I have previously got pregnant whilst using condoms, without there being any breakages/slip ups (can happen but rare) - that was a bloody shock and was as soon as we'd actually been able to have sex again after having DS - tragically ended in mmc. So don't really trust them. I can't use hormonal contraceptive because I become really, really anxious and depressed on them and the IUD scares me to hell (I know someone who's womb was pierced by it and it moved into her body and had to be surgically removed).

Bangonthedoor · 19/01/2015 21:29

I haven't made plans for DD yet. She'll probably go to MIL but I know she won't want to come to us in the middle of the night and I'd really hate to wake DD up at silly o'clock. That's if it happens at night...

I've spent most my evening doing a shit corner shop at the supermarkets. Got some super reduced bargains which are packed away in the freezer. I'm tucking into a big box of 5p doughnuts and a cuppa as we speak Grin

God knows what I'm going to do contraception wise post birth Hmm

sandulacek · 19/01/2015 22:13

memphis had to laugh at your list of old wives tales Grin. At least I know what not to do to keep the c section date.

Bang you've just reminded me I've been wanting a doughnut for days!

Are anyone's nipples very pointy?

donkir · 19/01/2015 22:23

Sand, I'm trying to make mine pointy (I have inverted nipples) so I'm wearing these special nipple shields for 8hrs a day. It seems to be working but also means they're leaking Hmm
I have noticed today though that I've got new stretch marks on them!

Mimosa1 · 19/01/2015 22:31

Laughing at the old wives takes too. Can't wait to meet baby now !

sandulacek · 19/01/2015 22:34

Donkir, I wondered what nipple shields were used for...now I know.
They are getting quite sensitive, does it hurt to breastfeed?

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 23:32

my nips still resemble burgers cannot wait fot them to go back to normal

Bangonthedoor · 20/01/2015 02:24

DP says my nipples are like burgers with cherry tomatoes on top Blush plus they are bloody itchy at the moment

Honeybird · 20/01/2015 07:04

Sand mine hurt pretty bad for 3 weeks with my first and 10 days or so with the second. It IS worth sticking to it with creams/shields/better positioning. Obviously everybody's different some get it worse some better but I think most have a bit of soreness somewhere along the line.

jenmcspen · 20/01/2015 07:26

We had our beautiful baby boy late last night Grin

Still to decide on a name, but think we will do that together today.
Still don't feel like he's really mine but I'm sure that will come with time!

jenmcspen · 20/01/2015 07:26

Aw congrats Jen! What lovely news to wake up to! Enjoy those newborn wriggly cuddles! Hope it all went ok for you!

JacktheLab · 20/01/2015 08:03

Yay!!

Congrats Jen :)

Bangonthedoor · 20/01/2015 08:06

Ahh congratulations jen!! So pleased for you Smile

BanglesSpangles · 20/01/2015 08:16

Congratulations jen! Report back with how you're getting on if you get a sec!

Morning all, husband commented a couple of days ago that 'your nipples are huge'. I pointed out that he said the same thing a month ago and he said he means they're really huge now. Brilliant.

Went yoga last night and we do a bit of a check in to say how we are and what we're suffering with- i commented that i was feeling pretty reasonable and the teacher sagely said 'ah yes, that'll be all your feel good hormones kicking in'. Woke up this morning in a super good mood, so I'm not sure if that's actually a 'thing' in the final stages or if im just very suggestible!

Hurray! Congratulations jen :)

suzimagoozi · 20/01/2015 08:47

Congratulations Jen Smile Hope you're both doing well x

Grinningcat · 20/01/2015 08:53

Congratulations. Great news to get first thing in the office.

purpleteapig · 20/01/2015 08:57

Congratulations Jen, great news! Enjoy your lovely new baby.

Re childcare during labour, it's quite stressful sorting it, isn't it? My SIL is coming to look after our toddler, but as she's 1.5 hours away, the question is when to call her. Don't particularly want to be going through early labour with her here as I'll feel self-conscious, but obviously don't want to leave it too late and have a panic! Hmm.

blankfornames · 20/01/2015 09:02

Bangles, I'm also feeling great! Feel like I have loads of energy and I'm able to go without make up these days as one trimester later...the pregnancy glow has finally set in! Long may it last!

sandulacek · 20/01/2015 09:08

Great news jen congratulations Flowers

honey thanks for the reassurance, that's me freaking out! Set on bf if I can but as a FTM I'm freaking out.

We're going to visit my DH cousin who had a naby boy just before Christmas. When I realised we were not far from where they live I just had the urge to go and see them. And get the cuddles! Blush. However not visiting rest of his family...let's see how that works out...
