Congratulations Jen Flowers.

Sand when in hospital their should be midwives there to help get a latch and best position then once home the mw and hv will also be on hand, also look for breast feeding support groups (sure start do them) also get the things in you may need like nipple cream, breast pads and nipple shields.

Bangles I feel really happy at the moment...even smiling on the school run....a first for me Grin but maybe that is because the end is in sight.

I slept well last night am going to go over my bag again and load carcwith ds's bitsor my sisters, have a pedi, hair and brows tamed then on to do food shop visit my sister to give.

We brought the moses basket down last night so the dog can get used to it but I don't think he has noticed yet, ds on the other hand came down and moved it a few inches as it was too near the sofaGrin

I am getting a really low down pressure when baby stretches like the water is just going to pop I really wish it would, had to grtvon hands and knees last night before bed as it was only position the pressure wasn't too painful

donkir · 20/01/2015 09:20

Sand I can't remember bf hurting but it was quite stressful as it took 5 days of being in hospital for anyone to realise he wasn't latching because I had no nipples to latch too. Once I had the shields it was pretty good.
Even though I intend to bf this time I have bought all bottles and steriliser plus some powdered formula as a back up.

Honeybird · 20/01/2015 09:32

Congratulations Jen!! Lovely news.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 20/01/2015 09:43

Congratulations Jen!! Thanks

Been having period like pains all night not on off though a constant dull ache and sometimes in my back. Have emailed the midwife. Hopefully it's normal am 36 +4 worried it's an infection or something!! Baby is moving fine though.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 20/01/2015 11:40

Littlemiss - hope everything is OK.

I am feeling the cold so much its ridiculous. House is around 20-22°C yet I feel like im in a freezer. Got multiple fleece blankets over me and still really cold (no fever or anything, I've been gradually feeling it more and more over the past couple of weeks). Think I need a duvet! DH thinks its because PGP has made me so immobile and because I've not really been outside much in past couple of months. I'm just wondering where this internal pregnancy body central heating thing you're suppost to "suffer" is.

Bangonthedoor · 20/01/2015 12:22

Im also feeling the cold loads why

So, just got back from my 38 wk MW appt at 37+4 wks. I mentioned to her the reduced movements, although I'm not worried as feeling baby lots at night still thought I'd mention it just for the record. She had a feel of my bump like normal and couldn't feel the head. So she's sending me for a presentation scan which I'll get an appointment for tomorrow. She said it's either so low into my pelvis now that she can't feel it's head which along with all the period pains I've been having she said would make sense OR the baby has turned to breech which would make sense with the reduced movements. What are people's opinions?? I've just felt baby hiccup and they feel low down...

BanglesSpangles · 20/01/2015 12:55

makes sense to me that the baby's head down, bang- particularly with the hiccup thing- apparently that's a reasonable indicator of where the head is, although I'll admit I'm utterly rubbish- I ask my midwife which way round everything is every time because I've no idea! At least the scan will show for defs

Just to be different! The last few nights I've been boiling hot in bed and sweating. It's really unplesant feeling all clammy and having to throw duvet off during the night! Looking forward to getting back to more 'normal' bodily functioning!

BanglesSpangles · 20/01/2015 13:37

I've been no different to normal, i think- have been feeling hot, but mainly because my maternity cover girl REALLY feels the cold and always seems to want the office central heating on about 25!

Congratulations Jen!!!!

freneticfox · 20/01/2015 13:52

Congratulations Jen, super pleased for you :)

I think I lost a bit of plug this morning, sorry for over share but it DEF wasn't normal discharge. Was far more like what I've been used to when I have a cold... Lovely.

blankfornames · 20/01/2015 14:17

Frenetic, on the plug topic. How can you differentiate between usual cm (of which I have an uncanny amount these days Blush ) and the plug? I've banned myself from Dr. Google so can't find out that way!

tonightsthekindofnight · 20/01/2015 14:21

Congratulations Jen, lovely news! Hope all went smoothly and you are both doing well.

My c section was supposed to be today but due to lots of emergencies recently it is now tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 6am but could be anytime through the day. Not looking forward to nil by mouth!!

I feel so nervous/excited today I don't know what to do with myself. Have packed and repacked babies stuff over and over. Have thought they will be small so got lots of tiny baby stuff but last scan suggests they may both be 6lb! At least that is nearly a stone I loose instantly!

One good thing about it being put back is I have made a 'big brother and sister survival kit' for my big two from the twins. Got a plastic box and filled with sweets, magazines, puzzles and a teddy each. Written a little poem for them too. Hope it will help a little with the huge upheaval. They will be staying three nights minimum at my inlaws and I'm scared how especially my youngest will cope.

Will try and update tomorrow all being well.

Honeybird · 20/01/2015 14:27

Lots of luck tonights can't wait to hear how it goes.

GeekyHybrid · 20/01/2015 14:47

Maybe I'm getting superstitious in my old age but just checked in to see this thread has 666 messages so I'm quickly tapping this out to post before catching up on what's happening!

GeekyHybrid · 20/01/2015 14:57

So close tonights, good luck tomorrow.
Blank I've been wondering the same thing about plug 'v' usual.
Another morning of washing down walls etc. For the last few stubborn bits of 'paint' we applied chemical paint / varnish remover - some of it still didn't come off. Reinforces my suspicions that the previous family a) didn't decorate with regular paints, b) consumed way too much of their own stock!! (They were 'dealers') Having a relaxing afternoon as we have an active / water birthing workshop at the hospital this evening.

PeppermintInfusion · 20/01/2015 15:06

Congrats Jen!Thanks

freneticfox · 20/01/2015 15:11

Blank it looks VERY different to any CM I've had, very slightly tinged brown and thick... Like something I'd cough up when I have a cold. Graphic, sorry :p

PeppermintInfusion · 20/01/2015 15:13

Saw the mw yesterday, junior is still breech and she believes he is quite firmly wedged in place Hmm he is also a couple of weeks ahead for length which doesn't help with the turning as I think I've felt his foot get as far as my ribs then get stuck for a while (this is also v sore).
Been doing the yoga moves to give him more wiggle room, he definitely does move more during and after.

Think we finally have a firm contender for first and middle name combination though, at last!

BanglesSpangles · 20/01/2015 15:49

Sending you well wishes tonights - not long to go!

peppermint d'ya think going for a swim might help? No idea if that's a ridiculous idea, but I just figure that you're able to sort of stretch out a lot more in the water than you'd ever be able to on dry land (not to mention that the one and only time I've ventured to the pool, my guy had an absolute field day- was flipping about all over the place!)

Bangles it's meant to help and I think it was exercising that caused him to turn last time, so I'll be off there this week. Apparently us floating in the water helps with the floating inside the womb.
I know a CS isn't the end of the world, but I was v anxious about childbirth and has only just gotten my head round a VB and now that plan is potentially changed.

Bangonthedoor · 20/01/2015 15:59

Thanks bangles for earlier reassurance. I'm hoping that's the case especially with the hiccups etc
