Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Grinningcat · 19/01/2015 13:00

I haven't had that either. Just regular BH since week 20 something. No harm in giving MW a quick call though. It will be interesting to see what they say.

Cat is out of surgery, but still on fluids. I can destress a bit now. I cannot believe that this has actually been the most stressed out I've been since getting pregnant.

sandulacek · 19/01/2015 13:24

Glad to hear your cat is fine grinning

We're just relaxing by the pool. Went swimming a bit, haven't been since week 18...it was a bit weird and the belly felt actually quite heavy. DH is enjoying the sauna and steam room, hmm I might have a snooze before the afternoon tea...I could get used to this Smile

donkir · 19/01/2015 13:46

You have my sympathies frenetic on the uti. Keep your fluids up to flush it out.
My cyst finally seems to be responding to antibiotics.
Ds is 12 so not really sure what we're doing with him when I go into labour. We have got ppl to phone but I'll feel bad if it's in the middle of the night. Hopefully it will happen when he's at his dad's.
Had a lovely family day yesterday and went for our last meal out as a 3. That was a bit sad.
I'm starting to feel really sick after eating I was gutted I couldn't finish my meal yesterday. Not sure if it's lack of room or a reaction to antibiotics.
Eek I've put on 3 stone. He's going to be one chubby baby.

JacktheLab · 19/01/2015 14:09

Memphis,

my earlier question relates to yours, I'm more bothered about keeping DS in his normal routine than having my DH come with me on the evening before my section to get me settled in, I'd rather he was at home getting DS to bed, poor soul, his world is about to be turned upside down anyway! I've got my inlaws coming to help my DH out, even better I wont have to see them much at all - happy days :)

In your position I might be tempted to limit the amount you tell him, inductions can take a wee while and if he is inclined to worrying maybe the less he knows the better? You however know him the best.

Have a sick boy upstairs, he's picked up a virus and we ended up at out of hours last night incase it was something serious, he's been rocking some impressive temperatures over the weekend! Thankfully its happened this week and not next though, can you imagine if I had a newborn and sick boy at home at the same time!

Why I'm planning to have my DS come into hospital on the second day to visit, he knows that Mummy is going to the hospital to have the baby, infact he asked last night when we took him to the hospital to get him checked out if we were going to get the baby. Just one more week and I think he will be fine about it, there are a few of his nursery friends who have just become big brothers and sisters so he's sort of getting the idea of whats going on. Need to get him a present though from her to put in the hospital bag, I'm thinking a toy tool belt as he is very much a boy and is into fixing things!

I've had a heavy tight feeling in my pelvis for weeks now, I'm assuming that it's just the baby being engaged, but I'm not holding out much hope that anything is actually going to happen, which I think I've been hoping for for weeks now!

Frenetic, hope you feel better soon, isnt frustrating how close we are but not quite there!

Jen, any news? Who else was going to be induced?

Hello everyone else, hope you are all having a good Monday?

jenmcspen · 19/01/2015 14:52

Very brief update. Finally at stage waters could be broken this morning and now am on drip and settled with epidural. Hopefully baby tonight! If not then will be tomorrow Grin

sandulacek · 19/01/2015 15:01

Good luck jen Flowers

Bangonthedoor · 19/01/2015 15:02

Ah jen so pleased for you Grin thanks for the update! Looking forward to hearing some baby news!

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 15:45

Ah jen good luck!

Jack yes this is my worry that it could go on a while so we aren't telling him anymore, the first he will know is when my sister picks him up from school on wednesday. I worry about it dragging on a bit but have been assured they won't let me go further than friday evening which is good as from saturday we will be struggling for childcare Grin I was also told today that if I was favourable Friday and had a sweep they should be able to go im and just pop the waters and get me on the drip.

My belly is solid and has been for quite a while it goes so hard at night leaning over is impossible but I don't have a huge amount of water.

Trying to stop people guessing when baby will arrive at school (nosy mums) so mum picked up ds and peole were asking where I was and she said 'in the car'Grin I live in a very nosy village and don't want my phone and fb going crazy with people who I don't care much for asking Grin walked up the hill to gates this morning (all of 50 meters) and 3 mums I don't even really know said 'still not had it?' Grr drives me potty

donkir · 19/01/2015 16:03

Memphis I'm the same. I work in a small village and everyday I get the same questions. "Still here then?" We'll surely that's blatantly obvious!! "Wow your still getting bigger every day!" Yes I'm growing a baby. Roll on next Monday when I can stay home in my jimmys and not be sociable until baby comes.
My tummy is also rock solid (think mainly baby rather than lots of water) I can't sleep on right side as baby refuses to budge.

Giantbabymama · 19/01/2015 16:29

Good luck Jen!

Memphis and Donkir,

The commenting on one's size/shape in terms of bump etc is weird isn't it? I got really pissed off with people telling me how big I was for my dates around the 5/6 month mark, as if they would know. My baby is a bit big for dates, but not gargantuan, but I did get a bit of a complex about it.

I get round it if I know I'm going to see someone I haven't seen for a while by telling them in advance that I am huge and that my baby may well come early as it is so enormous. That way I don't seem that massive when they see me and are too busy worrying I'm gonna break my waters on their shoes to say too much. Hahahahaha!

I suspect in actual fact the only way he/she will actually come early is if the doc decides to induce for one reason or another but it's fun getting revenge on bump commenters/squeezers by freaking them out.

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 16:42

Donkir I have been getting later and later for school drop and puck up so I don't see people as much Grin

On Weds my friend who does school run and hates it as much as me will drive me to hospital, I will probably look really pale....my plan is to say I have to get docs for appointment as I feel poorly so I don't have to talk to people, the great thing is my sister is in no way sociable and won't make small talk with anyone so she would probably grunt and walk off if anyone asks for news at school gates Wink im hoping I can get away with people asking anything and just arrive at school on monday with a pushchair

Mimosa1 · 19/01/2015 16:59

Jen and Memphis, how exciting - any day now! This weekend, my DH and I walked for ages and I mainlined spicy ckicken wings and they do not work!!! Will continue eating spicy food in the vain hope it will kick things off. Anyone else trying some other old wives tales? I hear pineapple can also do the trick.

Thanks, Sandulek, Memphis and Why on the answer to my washing baby clothes options. I've washed all the 2nd hand and 0-3 clothes as well, but since I've got time, will wash the last min newborn stuff too.

Have a good evening all.

freneticfox · 19/01/2015 17:05

Good luck Jen!

Jack, it feels SO close. But SO far. Also now getting friends and family guessing when I'll go into labour. That shit is fine in Friends, but in real life, NOPE.

Maybe I'm just extra grumpy.. UTI and back pain has kept me away from aqua yoga tonight so I'm annoyed. :-/

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 17:07

Mim pineapple is a no, I have craved it for last 10 weeks I drink pinapple juice by the pint and chopped fresh pinapple every day.

Also had clary sage baths for last 2 weeks although my belly does go very tight after each bath nothing else is happening

Mimosa1 · 19/01/2015 18:10

LOL, Memphis, I ordered a bunch of pineapple just before reading your post. Even if it doesn't work, I agree it's utterly delicious and am rather craving it now. Spicy food, I'm not so keen on.

Mimosa1 · 19/01/2015 18:11

Never heard of clary sage though. Onto Google!

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 18:46

Mim apparently you need something like 15 pineapples to get enough enzyme from it to start you off, apparently the sperm old wives tale is better swallowed than on the cervix Confused
Castor oil is just stimulates your cervix because it gives you the trots so bad it contrscts everything....I have had the runs for weeks with no joy.
Clary sage is an oil that when added to a bath (so you breath in the vapour) or sniffed from a hankie should contract your cervix.

Last time I had reflexology twice and I had pains for hours and hours after each then they stopped but I had another session as I wasn't sleeping and it made me sleep like a log

Spicy food I am avoiding as I don't fancy shitting curry out in delivery room...I have been informed there is no getting away from that smellShock

GeekyHybrid · 19/01/2015 19:07

Having a good laugh at your summary of the old wives tales memphis. Don't think I'll tell OH about swallowing sperm, indigestion means swallowing food is bad enough, don't want him getting his hopes up.

Went into work for tea break to see everyone, try sort out computer log-on etc. Boss hasn't started the sweepstake yet but there will be one! I organised the one for my colleague in May, boss won the weight bit, and he has my templates so pointed out he needed to get on with it Shock

An afternoon of washing walls down, will be filling holes tomorrow so hopefully paint by the end of the week. Deadline's looming Blush

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 19:12

Geeky my dh is going to be on a anything sexual ban from now until he has had the snip he is going to be very grumpy indeed if he has a long wait for the snip Grin

mildatheart · 19/01/2015 19:24

Good luck Jen!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 19/01/2015 19:39

Good Luck Jen!! Thanks

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 19/01/2015 19:45

Memphis do you know that depending on who does the snip its at least 12weeks (16 at some) until first sample can be sent for checking? Some places insist on a second sample 2-4weeks after the first before they will give all clear, others only do one test. Then it can take a couple of weeks for test to come back. That's assuming it all comes back clear. If not its much more drawn out.

longbottom · 19/01/2015 19:52

God I hate to moan but I am so done with being pregnant! I haven't really had any complications like some of you. I feel dog tired, despite sleeping better and napping this afternoon after school. Feel awful for DD who is left to watch TV and play :(
5 weeks and counting. I will be doing anything and everything to get this baby out from 37 weeks!

Memphisbelly · 19/01/2015 20:15

Long I spent first few months of pregnancy putting ds in front of tv don't feel guilty it will all pass we are all nearly there now.

WhyO oh I know.....I am not risking falling pg again though and due to me feeling rubbish or gross during this pregnancy we have done it literally a few times..... I have a friend and a cousin who fell pg after their dh had the snip one was using a condom and it presume it split but presumed as they were waiting on results chances are they would be ok. You are most fertile in months after having a baby......my bits are on lockdown Grin

Dh is annoying me he is asleep on sofa as he has been every night for past week at this time .....im trying to tie up loose ends in the house so we can have a nice night tomorrow and my preggo rage is simmering as is my heartburn as I forgot to collect prescription up

Surf25 · 19/01/2015 20:55

All the best Jen Smile
Looking forward to hearing news! Memphis it is really hard trying to plan ahead with other kids! Am sure you'll work out the balance of too much/just right amount of info. I don't whether it's easier knowing when you'll go in or it just happening! Our girls know all about baby but have just started thinking about the practicalities of when I go into labour and where they will go and who they will be with! I think I may have to come up with a rota!! I know that sounds crazy but we don't have anyone who is close and can be on stand by anytime, just different folk who could do different days/nights! Hmm! And of course paternity leave for dh has been fixed for months and can't be changed so we shall see whether baby arrives before or in that time, or not!!! Lots to think about. Hope you can enjoy tomorrow evening Memphis

These are exciting times. Exhausting, but exciting!
