Hi All

Here's what may or may not be our final thread!!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BanglesSpangles · 16/01/2015 15:40

hahaha- brilliant work sand

Just tried to book a massage but the place I wanted to go to is fully booked until basically after I'm due... someone I know had one at a Clarins thing in Debenhams, but can I find a number to call the local store on? Of course I can't!

I'm trying my hardest to do absolutely no work today, but I might have to admit defeat soon and answer some emails

36w appointment went fine, measuring bang on 36w, so feeling a little less anxious about bump size! Also finalised birth plan; if I go into labour before due date still hoping to labour/birth in the pool. Will have a sweep on my due date if nothing happens and rather than induction, I'll be offered ELCS at seven days overdue.

I'm a much happier bunny than I was, that's for sure :)

freneticfox · 16/01/2015 15:55

Oh, and mothercare replaced the broken bit of the plan on the spot, I didn't even have to get ratty :D

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 16/01/2015 15:56

Dreadful afternoon here. Making mine and DS lunch up and DS pushes lightly past my leg - the pain was horrific and caused me to let out an involuntary screech. He's moved something in my pelvis again. I literally couldn't move, the pain was horrific, couldnt bear an ounce of weight on it and the joint had locked totally. I was stuck there. DS was crying because hed hurt mummy and i couldnt even cuddle him, was just telling him it was ok, he hadnt done anything, it was just mommys poorly legs hurting again (didn't help that I could barely speak from the pain). Had to get DH out of work to come and rescue me - it took dh an hour to successfully manoeuvre me from kitchen to sofa.

Just hoping he's not in trouble at work because he didnt ask to leave he told them he was and said he'd be back shortly (theyve been difficult past couple of weeks, dont seem happy that hes leaving, so he didn't want to give them chance to say no).

BanglesSpangles · 16/01/2015 16:32

oh my goodness, why, you poor thing- sure DH's work will be fine when they know what's happened, and hope the pain eases off- could you call that super-osteopath again?

Good news on the mothercare situation and bumpal sizing frenetic

LittleMissSunshine33 · 16/01/2015 16:58

WhyO poor you!! Hope you are resting now!

Bangles I was looking for somewhere to get a massage but the salons I went to said I was too far gone and the pressure points might bring on labour!

Had a great last day at work was thoroughly spoilt! Now I need to get out of teacher mode and get into Mummy mode! Smile

sandulacek · 16/01/2015 17:04

Jeez whyO take it easy!

Good news Frenetic

Bangles anyone who specialises in pregnancy massage around your area? I came across this lady who does massages as well as baby yoga and baby massages. I booked with her for next Saturday. She said you can have massage till the labour.

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 17:28

WhyO oh no you poor thimg hope it eases asap.

I have had an eventful day and not one I want to repeat again, I had a scan and all ok there then waited to see consultant, I saw a mw then a head mw came in as I said I was ill and said what things had been happening and she said so you would want an induction? I said if possible, she went out and the biggest man came in (my consultant) he acted like 11 days to due date was a long way off and said he would examine me disapppeared and mw came in with a sheet, I honestly expected a feel off belly not a imternal Shock he had such big hands large latex gloves were tight but apparently they don't have XL ones on the ward. He examined me and then said I was favourable and decided to sweep with no warning, I have been sobbing all afternoon like a total baby, I have totally lost it, it was painful and took me by surprise.
I have since lost my plug.....or a good chunk of it at least, if I don't go in before Wednesday I am being induced then.

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 17:35

I have to add if I had any warning I am sure I would have been fine

JacktheLab · 16/01/2015 17:42

Oh Memphis :( Hope you feel better soon, that must have been a bit of a shock! Not much bedside manner going on there I think! Hopefully though your little man is coming sooner than later?

Frenetic, glad things werent as stressful as you thought that they might be :)

Why - hope you feel better soon!

Jen and Amy - I'm waiting for news ladies!!

Hello tweety!

I have finished one of the baby blankets I've been working on, that's the sum total of my acheivements today!

BanglesSpangles · 16/01/2015 17:49

Ooh good idea sand, i shall investigate. littlemiss how far along are you? The one i couldn't book up said they'd do until 38 weeks but I'm not sure if that's the norm or not

memphis that sounds horrible- is be upset too. I know it's all the norm for consultants who probably spend half their day with their hands in someone's fanjoes, but i do feel sometimes like docs forget that this is not an everyday thing for the vast majority of us!

jenmcspen · 16/01/2015 17:55

Nothing to report here as yet. Just a bit crampy and uncomfortable but otherwise pretty boring!

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 19:29

Feeling a little less argh about whole of today now going to have a bath eat my pineapple and pack of biscuitsGrin

Dh has changed our bed so we have a fresh bed and he has hoovered whole house.

Jen hope things go well for you overnight, remember if you want to chat I am sure some of us will be awake!

Bangonthedoor · 16/01/2015 19:56

Oh memphis I really feel for you. I had that last time with DD. My 3rd stretch and sweep was done completely by surprise with no warning and the midwife had proper sausage fingers. It took me ages to stop shaking from the shock. It hurt so much. Glad you're feeling better now though, fingers crossed things will start happening over the weekend...I reckon it will Grin

Looking forward to hearing news amy and jen

Ticktick · 16/01/2015 19:57

Good luck Jen, looking forward to hearing some baby news. It's lush things are really moving now. Our babies are nearly here!

I'm feeling pretty weird tonight, got a stressed feeling but can't pinpoint why I'm stressed. Keep finding that my jaw is clenched and I feel a teary. The only thing I know is that I would like to sleep but that's not easy to come by these day. Has anyone else felt a bit weird like this?

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 20:18

Ticktock yes I get like this when I am tired and over thinking things. Hope it passes soon for you.

Bang the midwife was holding my hand I nearly snapped it off poor woman! I was shaking and said I am opting out of further sweeps and she said but we will induce you next week so you won't have any more, I clearly didn't hear them say the first time that they would induce as I was too shocked!

I did ask about induction if many women go alone for first stage she said about 30%, she aaid if they opt to pop waters rather than the pessary they will give me time to call dh to come to hospital before hand

Bangonthedoor · 16/01/2015 20:32

Ouch...it's making me wince just thinking about it. I remember almost shutting the midwife's head in between my legs. I honestly don't think you'll get to Wednesday memphis Grin

sandulacek · 16/01/2015 20:36

Ouch memphis! Hope you're feeling better now!

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 21:00

Bang I have quite a high pain threshold usually I was so shocked how much it hurt....never again.EVER! Grin
I now have the runs again, my bowels must really hate me.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 16/01/2015 21:08

Oh no Memphis poor you! What do they do??

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 21:14

Littlemiss... What do? the consultant? He stretched my cervix but had no warning so I about flew through the ceiling

trukevoli · 16/01/2015 21:32

That sounds awful Memphis, hope you are feeling a bit better and relaxing whilst being waited on!

At least you are one step closer to meeting little one!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 16/01/2015 21:36

What do they do/use to do the sweep? I thought (naively) that it would be like a smear?!

Memphisbelly · 16/01/2015 21:36

Truk i am ok now and stopped feeling sorry for myself, now looking ahead to induction daye and what the logistics will be with school run, ds going to my relatives and how I will get there

freneticfox · 16/01/2015 22:17

WhyO - my empathies, I'm still managing to get about at the moment, albeit with crutches. The pain right in the centre of my pelvis/groin area when I walk is awful.

Feeling very nauseated tonight. Hoping it's just a random occurrence...
