Good luck frolic. Hope it goes well. Remember to take it easy.

Augustwedding · 05/02/2015 13:25

Does anyone know when you can feel baby move? I'm 15+3 and feel butterflies!? Am I being crazy :)

Dozygirl · 05/02/2015 16:36

That's probably right august. Friends have told me to look out for that feeling because if you're away of it then u might be able to feel it earlier like u are. How exciting for u!!

Dozygirl · 05/02/2015 16:36

Aware not away

Augustwedding · 05/02/2015 16:51

its the most bizzare feeling! not sure I like it!

karatekimmi · 05/02/2015 17:39

I had my scan today and saw our little baby!! All is well, and my due date got brought forward to 14th of August. Only 7 more weeks till I can see bean again!! I think the picture looks like an alien?!?

Dozygirl · 05/02/2015 18:37

Heehee karate it does a bit! it must not have been cooperating and lying in the correct position.

PenguinTuxedo · 05/02/2015 18:45

It looks like darth vader (or however you spell it :P) to me. Very exciting! Is that your 20 week scan in 7 weeks then karate?

LAM1 · 05/02/2015 19:51

Miss a couple of days and there is so much to catch up on on here!!

Flutters August, must feel odd!!

My downs test has come back "not high risk" and I have the date for the 20 week scan...
We have told most people now, mixed reactions as many were not expecting it at all - especially work!

otter32 · 05/02/2015 21:59

august I'm envious! I can't wait to feel peanut move! All I get is the pain of wind!!!

PenguinTuxedo · 05/02/2015 22:08

Mixed reactions lam? That's a shame :(

Augustwedding · 06/02/2015 08:26

I have only told my husband as not 100% sure it's the baby but I keep feeling it! So excited for week sun as having sexing scan! Had a girls name picked out for years so screwed if it's a boy :)

It's DH birthday tomorrow and got him his first daddy card!

Skeppers · 06/02/2015 09:42

I had my scan yesterday and saw a very naughty, wriggly, froggy legged little thing squirming around in there. It took ages to get the measurements and at one point the sonographer made me jump up and down to try and get baby to move because it was standing on its head! Random.

Feel a little more relieved now, there was a nice strong heartbeat and everything was where it should be- legs and fingers waving away; tummy looked healthy and working well and we could see it drinking so know that it's getting everything it needs. I was actually just relieved to see something in there, after having had no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever in my first tri; I was convinced I was making it all up!

Just the results from the nuchal and blood test to come back now. Because of my age and BMI I am pretty nervous about this, tbh. Checked out the measurement on the notes and it was 2.2mm. I know that this means nothing without the bloods, but I think it's below 'scary' range so I have all fingers and toes crossed. Once we have the results back from that, if I am low-risk and don't need further tests, then I can FINALLY relax and start enjoying things!

EDD has been revised to earlier: 9th August. The opposite direction to where I wanted it to go, but ho-hum!

D00dles · 06/02/2015 15:33

Hi all, I need to catch up and read the thread.
Anyway here's a quick update from me. Scan went ok, but the fluid at the back of baby's neck was measuring at the high end of normal, 3.5mm. You can see on the picture the fluid. I've spoken to my MW and the consultant who both have said not to panic as it's still in the normal range. I've had the bloods done for chromosome abnormalities and my MW has told me they should be back next Tuesday. The other possibility is there is a heart defect so if I'm 'low risk' after bloods I'll probably have to go to Oxford for a cardiac scan. Been so worried, husband is positive and keeps on moaning at me for being so negative about it. He's argument is it's still a 'normal' reading. The more I look at my scan picture the more fluid seems to be there Sad I guess I'm in for a long weekend!

birchwoods · 06/02/2015 15:39

Hi all,

Doodle try not to worry. I know it's hard. Fingers crossed all ok

Is anyone planning a holiday before their baby arrives? I'm going to book one tonight, five nights in the south of France for our first anniversary. I'll be 27 weeks, eek!

Fanby · 06/02/2015 17:16

Well done on all the lovely scans! D00dles keeping everything crossed for you, try not to fret xx

birchwoods - i'd love a baby moon! I'm hoping for some sun end of May.. Might be wishful thinking as I really need to get a job! South of France sounds idyllic! I think it's lovely opportunity to get away before the craziness starts Wink
We're off to Iceland tomorrow, not quite the sunny break, it was booked prior to the baby news Grin Currently thinking about packing and praying my ski gear still fits as yesterday it seems my bump has made an appearance! xx

karatekimmi · 06/02/2015 17:36

We have a few family breaks booked, but it's not quite the same with a toddler!!

LAM1 · 06/02/2015 18:05

penguin I think I was at the bottom of the list for a pregnancy annoucement so I guess for some it was a shock, plus it screws up a fair bit of planning. On the whole once people got over the shock they were fine.

doodles don't spend all weekend stressing, I was told they need both the measurement and bloods to calculate the risk.

We have a holiday planned for 31 weeks as my friend is getting married abroad, still intending on going as long as Midwife will say I am fit to fly. Have cancelled the August holiday though. We carried on planning things as had no idea if the clomid would work and I wanted things to feel normal rather than putting everything on hold

Dani240 · 06/02/2015 19:10

My scan is on Monday and I am really anxious about it! It will be lovely to see the babies again, and we're planning on announcing right after which will be so much fun, but I can't shake the worry that we'll go in all excited and something horrible will have gone wrong!

Birchwoods I really hope we can squeeze in a little holiday before they come - MW has already said that I shouldn't fly after 28 weeks though, and I feel a bit guilty about wanting to spend money on a holiday when money is tight already and we've got cots and nappies to buy!

Doodles listen to the MW and consultant: "my MW and the consultant who both have said not to panic as it's still in the normal range" - hope it goes well for you next Tuesday.

Skeppers · 06/02/2015 19:13

Fanby I am SO jealous of your trip to Iceland. It's my favourite place in the world. I'd move there tomorrow if I could!

D00dles · 06/02/2015 19:14

Thank you ladies, I'm trying not to panic. As my MW, husband and consultant says it's still normal. I just struggle to be positive! I was born with heart defeats, so I have a niggling feeling about that.
I've managed to catch up on the thread. Sorry Shantotto to hear your news. I'm sure all will be ok, especially if your scan was clear, but I completely understand how you're feeling. Thinking if you.
So sorry Cherry take care of yourself.
Congratulations on all the scans, fingers crossed for those still waiting!

birchwoods · 06/02/2015 20:58

Just booked our short hol to S of France, yippee!! We're only going for 5 nights but are also hoping to have a weekend away in the UK (prob Cotswolds as it's down the rd) in June as a final pre-baby break! Furiously searching Mr & Mrs Smith now, I bloody love a holiday!!

I look absolutely enormous today. I really need to cut back on the eating I have piled it on!! Borrowing my parents' (unused) exercise bike from Sunday so will hopefully burn off a few cals on that. Now, I think it's time for a cuppa and a hot crossed bun. Shock

Dozygirl · 06/02/2015 23:30

I'm hoping for a holiday somewhere in may but depends on money now I've realised how expensive having a baby is! Cancelled the skiing trip because I would have been 17 weeks and might as well save our money and go next year. It's a shame because my best friend lives out there so I wanted to see her but need to save.

My close friend who's due a couple of days after me has just had her scan and found out she's having identical twins. She's an identical twin herself so it's pretty amazing! I'm so so excited for her. I'm fascinated by twins, always have been.

Joskar · 07/02/2015 06:50

Babies aren't that expensive. You get given loads and everything under the sun is available second hand on Gumtree or eBay. Seriously we spent very little on dd. We even managed to get all her nappies (birth to potty) for £60 and now we'll be able to use them for this one. We have crates and crates of clothes that people passed on or gave as gifts. You don't really need much at first anyway. The only things we spent money on were a wrap sling from Didymos and a pushchair when she turned one and the car seat. Everything else was secondhand.

mzzzf · 07/02/2015 11:53

Yep we're booked to go see my folks in Cyprus and I'll be 23 weeks then, can't wait for the break and for some bobbing about in the sea!

I'd also love a little weekend away before bean arrives though, somewhere in the UK but since we're shopping for sofas, baby stuff and a car - I might have to hold off Hmm
