I woke up this morning with two suspicious looking patches on my pj top.....is this the start of leaky boobs!! Shock

mumxof3x · 03/01/2015 20:41

Hope your dad is ok tori. X

applecore0317 · 03/01/2015 20:57

Hope your Dad gets well soon

I've put on 12lbs so far, I was determined to put on some cause I felt I was a bit underweight in the beginning. Looking forward to getting back to the gym and keeping toned though

Hope your dad can cope with the lack of doing things tori.

All this talk of weight has spurred me on to do something. Last pregnancy I was underweight at the start and gained 5 stone. This time I started with a bmi of 29 and I'm already gaining too much (no idea how much I've just noticed I'm bigger iykwim). So this week I'm rejoining slimming world. Not to lose vast amounts but to curtail any unneeded weight gain and get healthier for the birth and recovery.
I know midwives do allow slimming world when pregnant so hopefully mine won't mind that I'm going and any kind of improvement to my 5 a day by Cadbury has got to be good haha.

Hi bradders - it sounds like it! Weird isn't it?! I bought some washable pads from mothercare and am wearing them inside a soft bra at night. Since I have done this (3/4 nights) I don't seem to have leaked at all. I wonder if the pressure/support is enough to prevent leakage. We definitely seem to be in sync with our symptoms.

Tori - sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he recovers quickly!

I am really not looking forward to going back to work. Have been trying to cram so much into the past couple of days - before the baby comes we need to replace the windows and fit a new bathroom, then my DH has started talking about replacing the kitchen, our microwave has packed up and our boiler has started making worrying noises. Plus I have a hen do to organise (which I won't be able to go on as it is three days before my due date and not local) and we are trying to make the most of the Jan sales and get some of our baby stuff ordered. Gah!!

mumxof3x · 04/01/2015 07:29

Fluff I agree with the chocolate lol, all I have done this past few weeks is eat chocolate and sweets and cake and cream buns ohhh and ice cream. While I know that weightwise im fine I feel abit shitty and unhealthy.

I have my aunt and little cousin (she calls me aunty though because theres an 18yr age gap lol) coming for lunch today, looking forward to abit of company, its also nice for kids to have someone else to play with, ds1 and my cousin are really close as there in the same class at school and theres only 12 days between them :)

I think my bellys defo had a growth spurt too. But still it remains a secret and longer it drags on more nervous im getting. Eek.

Hope you all have a lovely sunday x

d0ttyne11 · 04/01/2015 07:31

Morning everyone,

Hope you are all well. For those going back to work tomorrow I'm sure there'll be a few comments on growing bumps. Exciting isn't it? After speaking to my SILs yesterday I'm getting both excited about being able to feel and in a few months see baby move, but also a bit anxious about my poor old nipples! That must have been a surprise Bradders! Hmm, whether leaking before the birth or being hyper sensitive afterwards, any tips from second time Mums would be v welcome! I've also been given so many butters and mum to be creams from friends for Christmas that I hope I can just plaster that on everywhere to help my skin!

Mum, Apple and those of you that are having your scans this week - hope you have a fab experience. Really counting down until Friday now when we finally have ours. Does feel like an eternity since our last in October.

Just - that's quite a to do list, no wonder you're up early! What have you ordered already for the baby coming? and where's the Hen Do? It sounds the biggest challenge here with both the timing, location and the fact you can't go. Any way you can share or delegate some of this?

OK, after sleeping so well when we were up north for Christmas, my mind can't switch off after my 5am loo run, so I've been getting up before 6am a couple of times over the last 4 days and trying to write and get through to do lists and prioritising a bit. However, I've been on MN now for far too long this morning..... It's seriously addictive! x

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/01/2015 08:03

Morning d0ttyne Smile - yup I am like you, mind is racing, full of things to do. Both all the personal stuff (we have another big personal matter to deal with too but can't share on here) plus the knowledge of everything I have to face when I return to work, which is always manic but will be even more so with trying to wrap everything up before mat leave and recruit cover.

We have an appointment to discuss the bathroom mid morning and then want to try and purchase the pushchair/travel system. We are almost set on the maxi cosi pebble and the M&P Sola2 but late last night we read about the Maxi Cosi Elea so want to try and take a look at that today if we can, before making a final decision. The Sola is on sale atm but that ends today so need to get that organised. Have you begun looking / buying yet?!

One good thing is that work agreed to a later start time when I return after Christmas, so as my commute was proving a bit of a challenge, I am looking forward to that.

I have sorted some ideas for the hen do and have a couple of provisional bookings. My plan is to firm up the details (if I can get the relevant people to return my calls ??) and then send out an email to the hens and explain my situation. The other BM is out of the country so am hoping that someone from the group will agree to step up.

Always so much to think about - I can't quite imagine what mat leave is going to be like!

mumxof3x · 04/01/2015 08:14

Good luck just, with all of that, busy bee next few months you are.

Thankyou dot, its at 11am and it doesnt seem real because iv so lost track of my days since christmas lol. Good luck for yours on friday too.

Anyone else seem to think its going really fast so far?

applecore0317 · 04/01/2015 08:49

hope yours goes great too Dot :)

Justyou- no fun organising something you can't go on, my best mate is getting married in July and I am maid of honour but thankfully she is letting me off the planning :) and I have organised a spa weekend end of feb just for me, her and our Mums in case I can't go to the actual hen. Have the joys of trying to find a dreas that will fit post pregnancy

Hope all goes well for you too Mumxof3

yes going scarily fast, seems hard to believe it's been 16 weeks since I got the positive test

longestlurkerever · 04/01/2015 08:53

Hello everyone. Happy New Year. Sorry, I had dropped off this thread a bit as have nothing much to report. Feeling kicks now though (and panicking when I don't) and next scan is on the 13th.

Chookford · 04/01/2015 09:56

Morning ladies

Im 20wks today, halfway point woohoo!

Baby is moving like mad now, everyone has had a feel of being kicked! So nice

My scan isnt until 19th.. I'll be 22wks seems ages to wait!

tori hope your dad is recovering well..

Scottishgal78 · 04/01/2015 10:05

Tori - hope your dad is ok. Yeah I can't believe how fast it's going. Half-way already. I too am feeling seriously unhealthy. Up until this week I've had a real aversion to chocolate - but it's back with a vengeance! House is full of it as well. Kinda looking forward timeouts to get away from mindless snacking!

leanne963 · 04/01/2015 10:10

High Five to the half way point chook 20 weeks today here too!! Yay!

Omg mum it is going sooooo fast, I hope it keeps going fast! Ha!

just Wow you are so busy!! I am feeling a bit overwhelmed that I have my last year of Uni to finish before I give birth and my lecturer wants me to finish mid April instead of late May, as I will just be too big by then and a lot of my last modules are hands on and quite stressful so she is going to give me essays instead to do from home.

Oh jeez I had a crap nights sleep last night, woke up at around 2 ish to pee then when I got back into bed I sneezed and pulled all my lower tummy muscles which absolutely killed me, then whenever I tried to get comfy on my side my hips would ache so bad then when I led on my other side they would ache again before I could fall asleep! Nightmare! Anyone got any tips?!!

leanne963 · 04/01/2015 10:10

Ooooh and tori thinking of you, hope your dad recovers fast!!! X

Chookford · 04/01/2015 11:03

leanne high five!

Have you tried a pregnancy pillow? I have a full body length one and it's great makes sleeping so much more comfortable for me I put it under my bump and boobs and rest one leg on it when im laying on my side....

leanne963 · 04/01/2015 11:10

I haven't got one yet chook I might have to! I already sleep with a pillow between my knees and under my bump but clearly it's not doing anything. I just feel like a ball of aches and pains haha awful round ligament pain, not side of hips ache. I swear my boyfriend thinks my body is just a bumbling mess haha

Chookford · 04/01/2015 11:32

Haha the joys of pregnancy!! It's so worth it all in the end though!

FeelingBlessed77 · 04/01/2015 11:48

Leanne- my fiance feels the same

d0ttyne11 · 04/01/2015 12:03

Leanne - I bought a V shaped pillow in Ikea as an alternative to pregnancy pillow. Finding it so handy for trying to get more comfortable when sleeping on my side. Hoping it'll be handy for nursing when time comes too.

We had a look at a bugaboo and an oyster travel system. Don't really get why the oyster is almost half the price of a bugaboo but we prefer that one for now. Will check out the uppa baby too though. Apparently it's a huge basket and I'll need that for living in the city and being on foot / buses I think... Smile

leanne963 · 04/01/2015 12:15

Ooh thanks d0tty ill have a look! I'm looking at prams too and quite like the Graco Evo! So might get that but gonna wait til after my 20 week scan on Friday!

bradders85 · 04/01/2015 13:52

Hi just I might have to get myself some of those washable breast pads, thanks. nothing happened last night so hoping it's just an odd one off for now!! I restart zumba classes tomorrow after the Xmas break, had to go and buy some bigger stuff! scan tomorrow too at 23+4 so planning to have a fizzy drink before hand and see if I can get baby wriggling so they can complete measurements!! Smile.

cuphat · 04/01/2015 14:35

We've just been to see the icandy peach blossom 3 in person, to look at colours etc. We're waiting till after the 20 week scan to order (only a week to go!) but we've decided what we want. We'll buy it early and DD can use it straight away, then we'll sell the icandy strawberry we have. The lady in the shop said they sell very well second hand which is good.

There are disadvantages with the peach as opposed to the strawberry; you can fold the strawberry in one piece but you have to dismantle the peach seat and adaptors before you can fold the peach. People on the bus threads would love me with my double! DD is still parent facing in the strawberry; you can parent face with a single seat or both seats on the peach 3 but when the baby is in the carrycot for the first 6 months, DD will have to forward face. I'm excited about getting it though!
