Those are fab scan pictures Chook and a lovely bump ellsor! DH were mulling over boys' names again last night and came across Rueben, which we both like. However, am a bit concerned that it is too unusual a choice- I have never met a Rueben before. I love its Hebrew roots and think it is lovely but because we're not discussing name choices with family and friends it's hard to keep perspective! I would welcome any of your opinions!

d0ttyne11 · 20/01/2015 07:38

I think Rueben's an excellent choice. We are team yellow and sorted for a boy but have a short list of options for a girl. Mentioned a couple of girls name to my DM and MIL but both got them rolling their eyes (!!) so I told my DM that's exactly why they are going to need to wait and see!!

I've a midwife appointment this afternoon and fortunately have written down a load of questions this time to ask as previously I went a bit blank when the chance came to query or clarify anything! The random pokes and jolts in my tummy are increasing now and are entertaining but also sudden and surprising.

If anyone else is feeling organised, there's a big Baby Event just started at Asda / George online. Some special promotions that may help some of you feel vaguely more organised like I do after ordering a few multipacks of pampers
I've not shopped with Asda online for years but discovered they home deliver from £1! Amazing!

Sunshinesaz86 · 20/01/2015 07:39

blondie I love the name Reuben and also know a little boy who's 6 with the name and he's v cute and the name really suites him.

Sorry to hear your struggling fluff i can't complain with kicks etc at the mo I'm managing to sleep right thru, the movements I feel do not sound as strong as yours.

My DP had taken himself off to mothercare yesterday and bought a lamp shade and wall stickers that match our nursery theme, he's so sweet, I had no idea how he was going to be but so far so good. turquoise I think waking him up with nappy changes is the way forward sharing nighttime responsibility Grin

shinyhappyone · 20/01/2015 08:42

Ooh thanks for the tip d0tty. I'm rubbish at spotting deals and usually rely on SIL to point them out to me!!
I love the name Reuben Blondie. If one of best friends wasn't called Reuben, we would definitely be considering it. Might annoy some other close friends if we did go with it so had to veto that one!
Sorry you're not sleeping well Fluff. I'm having fairly strong kicks and movements during the day that make me gasp but not keeping me awake at night.
I had a day yesterday (following consultant appointment for lots of checks on my heart) where being pregnant and giving birth just seemed like such a difficult thing and then had a massive guilt trip for feeing negatively about it when so many women would love to be in my position. I feel like if I think negatively then bad things will happen. Agh I'm not like this usually so clearly this is pregnancy irrationality! I'm hoping to be in a more positive frame of mind soon.
Have a good day all xx

mumxof3x · 20/01/2015 09:01

Lovely bump ellstor

Fluffeh yes, I have joked with my friend that baby is going to be monster sized because his movements feel huge already, much bigger then my other 3 at this point and hes always moving.

BeanCalledPickle · 20/01/2015 10:37

I know a couple of Reubens. Often referred to as Reubs! The mother of one had the maiden name reubenstein so I think that's a good way to keep it in the mix! I'm obstinate and refused to change my name when we got married so both DDs have both our names:-)

Mslad · 20/01/2015 11:32

Tori I can't help but agree with you about pregnancy yoga. I started it last night and didn't really enjoy it. though it probably didn't help that I have a bad cold and while we were trying to relax I kept getting coughing fits and felt like I couldn't breathe through my blocked nose- I'm sure the others wanted to kill me!

dotty I had my mw app this morning. I also brought a list of questions. Usually I'm in and out in 5 minutes, but we were there for 50 minutes! there was a huge queue waiting to go in after me. I did feel a bit guilty, but it was nice to get answers to my various questions. I'm going to get scans at weeks 28, 33 and 36 which I'm happy about.

fluffeh I can't imagine having kicks so strong they keep me awake! It must be reassuring, but annoying after a while?

shiny hope you're feeling ok. I think we all go through periods of feeling negative, or overwhelmed, but hopefully it passes and you will begin to feel a bit positive again.

applecore0317 · 20/01/2015 11:49

Blondie I love the name Reuben, great choice, my friend called his little boy Reuben :)

Sorry you aren't getting much sleep Fluffeh

I had such a lovely moment last night, was laying in bed and there was a bit of kicking going on, so I placed my hand on the bottom of my tummy (I like feeling her kick inside and out ) and I had such a weird feeling that I hadn't had before, and think she must have either changed position or turned, but I felt this wave of movement under my hand as if her body had pushed right up against my hand and along, was amazing, I even woke my DH up to tell him lol

We've decided that we are going to need to buy a buggy, as my Aunty said we can have hers, but she feels that it might be on it's last legs... we already have car seats though, so now need to do some research

Chookford · 20/01/2015 11:59

morning ladies

fluff I am having the same, the last few nights I have been woken up 6/7 times with baby bouncing around! I feel your pain!

Blondie I like Reuben too... its both classic and trendy!

Hope everyone else is well.

plinkyplonks · 20/01/2015 17:47

Chook - congratulations on your scan, lovely pictures x

ellsor - Very jealous of your bump, wish my one was that neat :)

Fluffeh - Also getting disturbed sleep - usually between 3-4am, followed by some hefty kicks down low. Ouch! Also, finding it hard to sleep because bump is getting noticeably bigger the last 2-3 weeks which makes it a little more difficult to get back to sleep again. Coupled with acid reflex, it makes for an excellent nights sleep :)

Blondie - Reuben is a really nice name :D

Just to let you guys know, if you live near to a Next Clearance store - their maternity stuff isn't always on display. Twice now I've asked the store if they have any maternity stuff and they have come back with loads of really nice maternity trousers for me to try! I got 5 pairs of really nice maternity jeans for £23 total :O

Blondie87 · 20/01/2015 18:05

Thanks for your opinions, it's great to be able to discuss it!

leanne963 · 20/01/2015 18:20

Blondie Reuben is a gorgeous name, i really like it!!!!

Shiny Don't ever feel guilty, your feelings are always valid. I find myself complaining about my skin, or looking like crap or being exhausted then i remember i had a MC in May and for a moment feel guilty, then i realise that they are valid feelings and it doesn't mean i am taking this pregnancy for granted cause i am not! Big hug!!

Aww Apple i know exactly the type of movement you are referring to, it is amazing isnt it?? I usually just get thuds and pokes so it was so bizarre to feel her poke and move her limbs from one point on my hand to another :)

catsofa · 20/01/2015 19:03

Hi folks! Hope you don't mind me dropping in.

I'm due April 30th and am on the April thread, but someone just pointed out that the last people on the thread will be waiting around in ever growing thread silence at the end as one by one everyone else has their baby and drops off, and of course if I'm only a day over I'll be May anyway...

So thought I'd jump in here and say hello, and enjoy being one of the furthest-on for a while instead of way behind everyone else! Smile

I'm having a boy, but I'm team Planning To Confuse Everyone By Not Colour Coding His Clothes Grin.

shinyhappyone · 20/01/2015 19:19

Welcome Cat. Us Maysters are a friendly lot so glad to have you Smile

Thanks for your lovely message Leanne. DH has said the same but he's supposed to be on my side so nice to hear it from someone else. Had a better day today with lots of lovely kicks so on the up already xx

Blondie87 · 20/01/2015 19:23

Welcome to the Maysters catsofa!
Shiny I think pregnancy brings with it such a range of emotions. I certainly feel very grateful and privileged for being pregnant, particularly after how difficult the emotional roller-coaster of TTC was. However it's very natural to overwhelmed and sometimes a bit confused/worried/anxious etc. We're only human!

Threesoundslikealot · 20/01/2015 19:38

I thought that I would feel very wistful about the idea of being pregnant for the last time (this is definitely the last time!) but actually, far more than the other two times, I'm just so impatient to meet my baby. The movements are quite nice, but I'm desperate for a cuddle!

leanne963 · 20/01/2015 19:43

Welcome cat everyone is lovely here you will feel right at home! :)

Anytime shiny I don't think your feelings are out of the ordinary. We all get moments of conflicting emotions!!

SmileyScooby · 20/01/2015 19:47

Welcome catsofa

Plinky I have also just started with acid reflux/heartburn, but thank goodness for the NHS! I phoned Drs when was at work and they arranged for a prescription for a big bottle of gaviscon, had some the last couple of nights with an extra pillow as well (so sort of sleeping upright) and so far so good - nothing major like I had on Friday/Saturday was agony!

Lovely bump ellstor mine is still a bit b-shaped but is bigger - feel quite bloated today actually.

It's certainly going to be a busy few weeks leading up to half term at work (have got a parents evening in a couple of weeks and am fully booked for nearly 3 hours with no break...me thinks some parents will be waiting whilst i go to the loo!!). Not quite sure when I will find the time at weekends/evening to do the sorting out (charity/bin/loft) upstairs...made a bit of a start this evening by putting my work clothes that I can't fit/don't want to stretch tops etc in a holdall so that is a start right?!?! At least now my new maternity tops and trousers can hang in wardrobe rather than being in the carrier bags I got them in!!

Turquoisetamborine · 20/01/2015 19:48

Welcome Catsofa! Is this your first baby?

Thanks for the Next tip Plinky I seriously do not need anymore maternity clothes. I have bought a lot of stuff that can be worn afterwards though like jumper dresses.
Does anyone else on here have asthma? Mine is normally well controlled but my oven must need a clean as it's set me off on an awful asthma attack tonight. I'm taking my blue inhaler loads which is making my heart beat really fast so I'm worrying about the baby but also I need to breathe! H needs to clean the oven tomorrow so I can avoid this happening again.

Fluffeh hope you get some sleep tonight. My baby tends to sleep when I sleep after a kickfest just before I go to bed.

I have a growth scan tomorrow then a consultant appointment when I'll be 23+6 so will be interesting to see how big baby is since last scan at 19 weeks. H missed that one but he's off tomorrow so will be lovely to see it together.

Threesoundslikealot · 20/01/2015 19:48

Hi catsofa! I look forward to whiling away early May with you.

Turquoisetamborine · 20/01/2015 19:51

Smileyscooby I wouldn't worry about running late on your parents evening. Every one I've ever been to I've been kept waiting at least half an hour ??.

Royalsteph · 20/01/2015 20:19

has anyone else got the rage? I'm literally angry at everything a couple of people say at work. we've got loads of baby clothes from Gumtree etc in different sizes. I'm looking forward to going through it, washing it and ironing it. heard baby's heartbeat today after an appointment to get my mat b 1 form Smile

Chookford · 20/01/2015 20:21

catsofa welcome to the May Bunch! We are ever so lovely! Grin

smiley I have never been in on time to any of the parents evenings we have had, don't worry!

I have a foot digging in my hip tonight... It's a little uncomfortable I must say!! Wink

Chookford · 20/01/2015 20:23

royal I was going to ask when everyone got their matb1... I'm not seeing my midwife for another 2 weeks so will be 24+5 when do you need to hand them in? I can't remember from last time! I'm prob being dim but I thought it was earlier then 25wks?!

Royalsteph · 20/01/2015 20:27

it's normally around the twenty week mark but I'm late getting it because it was 19+1 at my scan. I have to get my maternity paperwork in by 25 weeks which is Sunday. so hopefully there is a quick turn around with it Smile
