Apple I have had a few internal scans or "dildo cam" and found them at most uncomfortable but not painful, and of course just like most of pregnancy a bit undignified.

Sunshinesaz86 · 19/01/2015 12:28

apple I agree with snooky I had one at 6 weeks, uncomfortable but fine all the same. DP nearly fell off hia stool when he saw her put a condom on it before hand! Ha! Grin

Hi all, hope you had a good weekend. Mine was a busy one so just catching up now. Loving the baby name chat, as we still can't agree at all on names.

apple I usually hate anything medical, but have found internal scans no bother at all.

I was just about to tuck into some lovely hummus for lunch and made the mistake of googling it to check it's safe for pregnancy. I assumed it was but there's a lot of disagreement online about whether it is or not. Wish I hadn't checked now and just ate it in ignorance. Any thoughts?

Chookford · 19/01/2015 13:25

Sunshinesaz86 · 19/01/2015 13:42

lovely pics chook love the close up of the little face!

mslad i have eaten hummus on a few occasions and a little pate and a few prawns at xmas and even semi runny eggs. I genuinley didnt think there was an issue with hummus tho.....

jazzyjenbo · 19/01/2015 13:48

Just checking in on you all, some interesting baby name chat... We are really struggling this time.. Theres names i like but nothing i love.. Dh keeps coming up with really boring (in my opinion) suggestions ... I like unusual names but must be 'pretty'. For example i love Willow, but it really doesnt go with surname.

Apple.. Internal scans arnt so bad, i've had alot the furthest along was at 36 weeks to check placenta.. Just a little embarrassing at first.

mumxof3x · 19/01/2015 13:49

Apple, had them in 3 of my pregnancys, found them fine, the one with ds3 was abit uncomfortable but thats because she was been very forceful with it.

Chook brill news and great piks :)

applecore0317 · 19/01/2015 14:18

Thanks ladies :) thats reassuring, I had to have an internal to check my uterus had popped out of my pelvis at 15 weeks and it was horrendous! so that's why I was a bit apprehensive

Yey congrats chook love the head picture

No idea about Homous, I don't eat it anyway as am intolerant to chick peas, I haven't really checked stuff I have eaten and most of the stuff on the No list I don't like anyway

Only thing I miss is rare meat, although I have had my roast beef a little pink

Chookford · 19/01/2015 14:21

Thanks ladies!

apple I had an internal This morning as part of the Scan to measure cervix length it was fine, a little uncomfortable but it was totally manageable.

I miss wine.... I love wine Grin

Oh Chook how beautiful!!! Glad everything was perfect!

Ooh how exciting tori I picked up a moses basket this morning so I think I am nearly all set ahh!!

Been getting lovely vagina stabs/spasms this morning eurgh not nice even rang the Triage for advice and they said as long as I don't have watery discharge it's just natural growing pains! Ouch!

piglet81 · 19/01/2015 17:10

Congrats chook, lovely pics. Apple, I've had several internal scans and they were fine - and no more uncomfortable in pregnancy than before. Good luck.

Had 24 week appt this morning (actually 24+5) and all fine. And got various baby things (Moses basket etc) from lovely SIL this weekend, so feeling excited!

Hope everyone's doing OK except for odd aches and pains.

ellstor · 19/01/2015 18:51

Here's my yellow bump at 22+1 - keeping dress firmly on for now! X

Lovely bump ellstor :)

Chookford · 19/01/2015 19:35

Lovely bump pic ellstor

KittyVonCatsington · 19/01/2015 19:42

Turquoise I was thinking the same thing. Apart from feeling his first kick way back, DH isn't that interested! It's the same with TTC. We feel every twinge, ache, CMucas etc so is always on our mind. They can go to work and forget about it. Same with Baby I have come to realise! I do feel sorry for him. Feeling Baby is pure heaven!!

Hooray for a brilliant scan Chookford! Grin

I've been eating loads of humuus Mslad!!

Lovely neat bump there ellstor!

Growing pains are ouchy leanne I agree Angry

applecore0317 · 19/01/2015 20:15

perfect bump ellstor

Threesoundslikealot · 19/01/2015 20:38

Lovely bump, ellstor.

Turqoise, my husband shows a massive lack of excitement when I'm pregnant but is the most brilliant daddy. It doesn't mean anything about what sort of father your DH will be.

I've had a horrible stomach upset today. Feeling a bit better now but good to feel kicks earlier for reassurance.

Kyz · 19/01/2015 21:24

evening all - just poking my head in, been busy all week, and dp has had time off work but he's back now so i have my evenings again to do productive things come on here and talk to you lot!

Off to catch up!

Justyouwaitandsee · 19/01/2015 23:24

Lovely bump Ellstor!

I agree with ladies about DHs. I think my husband wants a baby more than I did, but he seems to struggle to show much enthusiasm. I think he struggles to comprehend everything which is all so real for me, he is not anywhere near as into all the research and reading as I am, so I think he struggles to keep up with all my planning.

I went to my first midwife led pregnancy class tonight. They are free at our local children's centre and it was really interesting.

I also have the pleasure of a delightful new symptom - pretty constant burning sensation in my throat and ocassionally my chest. Sigh Sad

Morning ladies and bumps!
Am I the only one being woken up all night long by baby kicking/jumping/wriggling really strongly? I don't remember this with dd, she was active but in a much gentler way. I'm so tired I could cry. I'm being woken 10+ times a night and there's no pattern to it as he does it most of the day too.
Don't get me wrong I love the reassurance of feeling him wriggling around and kicking but some of them actually hurt. Dp put his arm around me yesterday and it was swiftly kicked off by the baby.
Is anyone else feeling movements this strongly?
Other than this and the spd everything is going really well. My midwife has changed areas so I meet the new one on Monday and I'm 24 weeks today yay!
I still haven't decided on how to birth this baby I know I want a vbac and I'm hoping the consultants are going to relent and at least let me labour for the first part at home. I've read too many stories of people being rushed into inductions/interventions/sections just for not progressing as quickly as the doctors want them too.

Turquoisetamborine · 20/01/2015 07:08

Thanks for the reassurance on my H's lack of enthusiasm for the pregnancy. He is the most brilliant dad to our son, I just wish he was more interested in bump. I have to say he was not brilliant when son was newborn either. He didn't comprehend how much hard work it was and loved that I was breastfeeding as it meant he didn't have to get up in the night.
I'm going to wake him up for nappy changes this time in the night, he's not getting away with it!
