Congratulations mslad! Wow, busy on this thread lately. Glad to hear everyone's doing well (except for the unglamorous symptoms). Am quite enjoying my bump now after having a minor wobble about how much weight I'd put on. I'm not weighing myself any more but it definitely seems to be getting bigger by the day!

Hope you all have a good week ??

Threesoundslikealot · 11/01/2015 22:31

Manducas are great. I also have one of these, which works very well in hot weather:

www.calinbleu.com/mystic-blue-gauze-wrap/

Last time I also borrowed from the sling library a rather cool wrap sling made out of a sort of stretchy string bag material!

Justyouwaitandsee · 11/01/2015 23:23

Oh wow - this thread has been busy today!! I am struggling to keep up with all the news (not helped by getting distracted and googling manducas when trying to post!!)

Congratulations MsLad - that is great news! Well done to your DH to be Grin and Kitty the Bath babymoon sounds amazing! I am very jealous of whoever mentioned the pre-baby big round the world trip although another one who despite loving travel, can't imagine doing all that whilst pregnant. Me and DH haven't really managed to do much travelling together at all Sad. He has a history of dvt and we focused on saving for our wedding and house. We have accumulated a fair few airmiles though so would perhaps like to look at taking a trip somewhere exotic (maybe Maldives or Mauritius?) with baby in their first year. A few friends have done this and has seemed to work well - guess we will have to wait and see if we manage it though!

For now we are plodding on with everything that still needs doing around the house but the list seems to grow longer everyday, while baby's due date gets ever nearer - new windows, new bathroom, plastering throughout, new carpets...argh! One step at a time though!!

plinkyplonks · 11/01/2015 23:54

mslad Congratulations on your engagement :D Wine

leanne963 - Glad you enjoyed your spa day! A spa break would be lovely right now!! :)

KittyVonCatsington - Bumpmoon sounds awesome! Glad to hear you had a great time :)

Blondie87 - Aww! Great bump pic! Also feeling bump has got big quickly, mainly over the best 3-4 weeks.

Bump is fairly prominent at the mo - really very worried about how big the bump is and how much weight I've gained :( Also, finding I am very unsteady on my feet - already fallen over, hitting my arms, knees etc against furniture - I am a walking disaster zone right now :D Grin

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy a decent pregnancy swimming costume?

piglet81 · 12/01/2015 06:23

Hiplinky, I've got a maternity tankini (electric blue!) from Mothercare which is serving me well so far. They had a few styles in my local store. Just off for a swim now in fact! Smile

KittyVonCatsington · 12/01/2015 06:41

Mine was from JoJoMamonBebe in the sales plinky. I got a tankini too (navy blue stripes) but they had all in one swimming costumes too. I too am a little unsteady if I leave it too long snacking-damn that low pesky blood pressure!

Sounds like you are v busy Just-your home will be perfect for Baby when finished, I'm sure!

Not looking forward to today...I have a lesson observation last period today. Eek! Hope it goes well Grin

Turquoisetamborine · 12/01/2015 07:44

Wow busy thread!

Kitty your time in Bath sounds awesome. I really want to go there but I'm in the North East so a long drive.hope your lesson observation goes well. We have booked to go to center parcs in a couple of weeks but that will be the only holiday we get before baby is here. We are taking baby to Mallorca in September though. Booked a swim up room so son can swim while baby can sleep and me and H can relax on the balcony. That's the idea anyway!
mslad congrats on the engagement hon! How exciting. Any wedding plans yet?
Blondie lovely big bump there.
Looks like our mortgage is going through subject to payslips being produced so we will soon have two mortgages and two kids. Eek! What responsibility. The other house is rented out and I'm worried the roof has blown off in this wind but no phone call yet!

BeanCalledPickle · 12/01/2015 08:48

Justyouwait - we were the big world trip:) we had entertained the idea of a month in new Zealand when on maternity leave but the reality was that we only have so much money and it would be better spent when they are older. Would be depressing to be stood looking at mountains without being able to climb them!

On the Maldives/ Mauritius thing I would highly recommend doing it while they are small enough to use a bassinet on a plane and are still fully breastfed. I didn't realise that small babies are so much easier than big ones! The plane to berlin was a bloody nightmare at Christmas, let alone anything long haul!

mumxof3x · 12/01/2015 09:10

Wow busy thread :)

Thankyou ladies, chook and apple basicaly, I have brill parents that have always been there for me, but when it comes to pregnancy. Its abit hard to tell them, mainly because how the reaction was with my first and second, I was 17 with my first and me and dp hadnt been together very long (hes my first partner too) it was 5 month into it. I told them within 3 days of finding out..dad was upset mum cried for weeks lol. So with ds3 I couldnt face telling them so I got to about 20weeks with just my partner and his mum knowing and then they found out, dad was fine that time. So this time I told mum as soon as I got the positive result it was such a shock I just rang her, but its just been left from telling dad but obviously now he needs to know. They both adore my 3 boys so have no concerns about that cause I know this one will be adored too...but I just feel guilty about straining him with the shock etc. Im at college because I want to be a midwife and I think they just think I will not want to do that. But I started when ds3 was 6wk old and still doing it now. Also I think its just the age thing still having 4 kids at 24. But il be glad when it is out at the same time.

Mslad wow congrats that is amazing :)

Apple dont worry about bumps, some people have big bumps some people have small with all been completely normal. Mines quite small but my fundal height is really high it grows upwards rather then out if that makes sense lol, I am not really petite heightwise just a normal height but weightwise am (although my butt is where my weight gain has gone according to MIL lol) ive always carried small too. And ive always had the omg your so tiny bet your baby is going to be so small etc etc, which got annoying lol.

Brill bump blondie :)

Sorry for the long post.

WigglyWigglyWoo · 12/01/2015 11:14

Wow just came on here for a catch up and it's been so busy!

Mslad- massive congratulations!! That's really exciting news Smile

Just- we are doing loads of house stuff too so holidays are on hold. Aiming to have all the ceilings re plastered to get rid of the Artex and recarpet throughout as well as a new shower room- may be a bit optimistic to get it all done by May!

I've been getting a steadily bigger bump and I'm loving it. Similarly had a bit of a "oh god I can't believe how much weight I've put on" phase but now the bump is more defined I feel less fat and more pregnant!

Been suffering with constipation like many others. I've found Lactulose really helps although I may need to reduce the dose. I increased it slightly wth rather interesting consequences. At least I'm less uncomfortable now!

I've bought a Close Caboo sling and I'm hoping that it won't be too hot as it's quite thin fabric. No way of knowing until I try it I guess but it appealed more that the ones with all the straps and buckles. I tried it on in John Lewis with the doll and it seemed comfortable. May be another story with a hot baby in August!

We had a massive shopping trip last week and it's all getting delivered this afternoon!! So excited to get home from work to see it all Grin

Is anyone else having problems viewing the stats? It says I have to log in to a Google account?

It's exciting now we've all reached the half way point. Not long to go now!!!

tori you have nothing to be embarrassed about its one of the very common symptoms related to pregnancy! Doctor will have seen it all before and it is best to have it looked at and if any medication or treatment is needed get it sooner rather than later to put your mind at ease as well as ease the physical discomfort! Really hope they sort it soon, it's a horrible thing to have to deal with.

applecore0317 · 12/01/2015 11:36

Hope it goes well then mumxof3x

picture of my bump last night, always bigger in the evenings but am really surprised with it, have put on just under a stone so far, and was a 6-8 previously, so think I am just getting used to having boobs and a bump, excuse the pyjamas and scarecrow hair....

I also need a swimsuit, will have a look online then :)

applecore0317 · 12/01/2015 11:37

not sure why that's uploaded side ways.... sorry!

applecore0317 · 12/01/2015 11:38

Oh No Tori, that sounds horrible for you, definitely get an appointment as soon as possible and get checked out

leanne963 · 12/01/2015 11:59

Oh bless you Tori I'm sure the doctor will be able to help out!

Lush bump apple it's getting to that stage where it's noticeable I am pregnant so kinda push my belly out more, in 3 months I will probably look back and curse myself for wishing for a bigger belly ha!

Hey wiggly I really want a nice wrap sling too but also worry about the heat over summer so let us know what you settle with!!

Chookford · 12/01/2015 12:00

apple lovely bump pic! Grin

Poor you Tori, you should be av,e to get an emergency apt, surely as a pregnant lady you'll have priority?
I hope you get no hassle from the receptionists and the Dr can put your mind at ease and make you more comfortable.

I'm craving jam today, I found a tiny pot of strawberry jam from the cream tea I had last week and it made my morning. Grin

Wiggly - Having the same problem accessing the stats :( Congrats on the shopping trip - definitely feels a lot more 'real' having baby gear around the house!

Kyz · 12/01/2015 14:41

Afternoon ladies :) Had my 20 week scan today and all was well :) It was a really nice scan actually the sonographer explained what she was looking at/for and measuring, and pointed out all the little details like ears and lips etc. Lovely!

I'm also unprepared baby wise fluffeh, I do have some things from DS but I don't know what, most things are stored away, and then he currently uses some things like his pushchair and his cotbed. I don't know what i'm doing!

hope it goes ok mumof3

Chookford · 12/01/2015 15:00
