Hi everyone

I've been so bad at keeping up with the thread! It's moving so quickly now and I'm struggling to find time to check it sometimes!
I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and feeling amazing just now! I feel healthy and I have so much energy - only been back at work for a week though so that could change very quickly.

I'm not going to be buying lots of new stuff this time but everyone's chat of picking/going to buy their prams etc spurred me on to transform my silver cross linear freeway pram and car seat back to the baby equipment! I got my DD to help me out a bit and explained that she was going to pass it on to the new baby when it comes. She's 2 and a half and hasn't used it for ages but still calls it "her" pram!
My aunt has let me borrow her swinging crib (it's gorgeous) and we are going to have it in the living room so we don't have to carry the Moses basket up and down the stairs!
I'd like to get a new mattress/bedding for it though - has anyone seen any nice stuff anywhere? It already has a lovely white trim and canopy that can just be washed and freshened up.

Baby's movements are so strong now and it LOVES music. Me and DH always play a few tunes near my bump before we go to sleep now and he/she goes mad for Oasis and Devine Comedy haha!

If anyone is buying maternity clothes - I got a few bargains (mainly tops) on asos. I also got a good pair of black boot cut work trousers from jojo maman bebe down from £35 to £14 - super comfortable!

Congrats to everyone on all the healthy scans! Smile

ellstor · 11/01/2015 11:35

Dh and I have finally made a decision on a pushchair - bugaboo cameleon. I really didn't think he would go for it but the other options had negatives for us. - oyster - too low, vista too heavy and big when folded.

Like how you don't actually have a carry cot with bugaboo and it's just fabric which means it takes up less space which can't be a bad thing!

Does anyone else find that as they get a bump they judge others? Could be my horrible personality but when we were in John Lewis yesterday a few couples were having appointments and i was like " ah I'm more pregnant than you" in my head of course.

If no one else thinks like this, I clearly need a personality transplant Shock

Scottishgal78 · 11/01/2015 12:01

smiley I saw that cot in store and it's beautiful. It's on my list with the matching changer although I think £100 is expensive for a changing unit but it's forward facing with a drawer so not that basic. I'm also trying to exercise more. Starting swimming on Tuesday as our local pool has an adult only night and the ill try and go early at the weekends seeing as I'm always up early due to peeing/no hangovers! I'm sure there'll be a pregnancy disc for the wi. I had the Tracy Anderson pregnancy project Dvd which people had raved about but it was so boring and repetitive. I've heard good things about Davina's DVD especially nearer the end of your pregnancy.

Hello ladies, apologies in advance for my me,me,me post, need some reassurance the joys of constipation have kicked in, I tend to swing the other way so never really had this, tried the normal tips, orange juice, coffee, truck loads of water, it bloody hurts, all the straining (tmi sorry) and now on wiping pink tinged discharge, I just want to have a poo grrr, baby is moving but am about freaked out, it's common right?

longestlurkerever · 11/01/2015 13:16

It is common snooky. If you do a bit of experimenting you will probably gfind the pink is from your back passage. Some ladies higher up the thread had some tips for things to try. Seem to remember coffee was a popular one! X

Snooky17 · 11/01/2015 13:34

Thanks longest x

Turquoisetamborine · 11/01/2015 14:07

I don't have this problem anymore Snooky but had it badly in the early stages. I took a glass of prune juice every day and it worked a treat.

ellstor I got the Chameleon 3 too. Can't wait to use it. Still haven't opened the box yet though!

BeanCalledPickle · 11/01/2015 14:19

Chameleon is good. We have a two and a lot of the design faults with that have been resolved. Strongly recommend you spend some time assembling it and trying to collapse it, use it with car seat adapters etc. We spent a lot of time having to resort to YouTube videos for guidance! Same with car seat. You don't want to be stood in the hospital car park, delirious with exhaustion and pain screaming 'how the fuck does this go in the car'. In the rain. Not that this happened to us or anything.

mumxof3x · 11/01/2015 16:40

Made another purchase today, a mamas n papas bouncer eeek. Mums taking me to babies 'r' us at beginning of feb where I am sorting a pram and the moses basket etc.

So mum is telling my dad about me being pregnant end of this week...im so worried lol, dreading it.

applecore0317 · 11/01/2015 17:45

snookey bleeding is probably from straining

drinking luke warm water is good as your body absorbs it better and helps to pass things through, I eat three figs usually before I go to bed and that helps a lot. Also I know they are for kids... but Ellas kitchen prune puree is good as well. I was told at the hospital to avoid bananas as well, constipation is something I have had on off for years, makes you feel like total rubbish, hope you get it sorted

applecore0317 · 11/01/2015 17:52

What are everyone's bumps like size wise? I look at pics of twenty week bumps on instagram and some women have barely anything whereas there is absolutely no hiding mine, am fairly petite anyway but the bump seems huge compared to other peoples pictures.....

re buggies - My Aunty is giving me hers, haven't got a clue what make it is though, and I think it will be its last use so not sure whether to just buy our own? she is giving us a fair bit including car seats moses basket etc all from the last 12 months, so has been weird not being able to buy much, obviously thats a bonus

mumxof3 I don't know the history but hope all goes ok for you :)

KittyVonCatsington · 11/01/2015 18:17

Snooky I have been suffering from that since day one of pregnancy so I sympathise. Usually down to hormones and Baby taking all of your good stuff and leaving you sluggish. Try to only go when you have a time to "take your time", raise your feet (I put them on three upturned toilet rolls), drink lots of water, don't push-let it come in its own time-and it will, try a stool softener like Lactulose and use wet toilet wipes afterwards to helps with the spotting and pain. Mention it to your midwife so can be added to your notes, but certainly nothing to worry about!

Just returned from a wonderful Bumpmoon to Bath with DH. It was heaven! Had to buy a maternity tankini from JoJoMamonBebe for the Thermae Bath Spa but was worth it to experience the outdoor roof top thermal pool Grin Figured if I end up with a water birth, the tankini can be re-used! Was a perfect weekend topped with another milestone-reaching 6 months!! Am getting quite attached to bump Wink

24 weeks.

Chookford · 11/01/2015 18:19

apple my bump is fairly big it's not one I can hide at all! But I'm fairly short so tend to look like a weeble when pregnant!! If I'm brave enough may post a bump pic on here! Grin.

snooky I'm suffering too... I'm now taking lactolose everyday and it's really helped I've been much more comfortable since taking that, not sure if you have tried it already but of you haven't may be worth a try.

mum hope it goes well telling your parents, is this because it's baby number 4?

KittyVonCatsington · 11/01/2015 18:20

Oh and apple my 21 week bump is on page 11 of thread and am certainly bigger than that now! Babies just all sit in different places and we are all different shapes so all bumps, big and small are perfect, in my eyes!! Grin

Chookford · 11/01/2015 18:21

kitty I've been thinking of going to Bath with dh before baby arrives, so you would recommend?

KittyVonCatsington · 11/01/2015 18:24

X-post! Bet you don't look like a weeble Chookford Wink

KittyVonCatsington · 11/01/2015 18:26

X-post again! Would def recommend-loved it! Really easy to walk around, plenty to do and would love to go back! So beautiful...

kitty it's ok I've made peace with my weeble ness!! Grin ok thanks will look into that then as want to have a long weekend away before bubs arrives and have heard how beautiful bath is and that spa is awesome!

KittyVonCatsington · 11/01/2015 18:31

It was Tori and totally safe for pregnant ladies!! I just avoided the steam rooms but they had comfy chairs outside those so had mini steam instead as well as the outdoor pool! Oh it was bliss - 23 pounds each for 2.5 hours inc slipper and robe hire. I am a convert!

applecore0317 · 11/01/2015 18:33

Thanks kitty and chookford

yeah I am fairly short too, and she's right up front so makes my bump look mote sticky out I guess lol

oooh I like the sound of a bump moon! Am going on a spa weekend end of feb with my best friend and our mums but would love to plan something with my husband before the baby arrives.

Mslad · 11/01/2015 18:38

Evening all...Yay to Milestone Day!!

Kyz good luck tomorrow morning with your scan :)

Ellstar I can confess to thinking that same kind of thing about other people's bumps (and a little bit jealous about the bigger bumps)

snooky I'm in the same boat with constipation. I've tried everything. I'm going to my gp on Wednesday to see if there's anything else I can do.

apple I have a huge bump too. I like having it at the moment, but am worried about how big it could get by May!! Confused

In non-pregnancy news, my dp popped the question last night! It was completely unexpected, as I thought we'd never get married. But he has put a lot of thought into it and seems to really really want to do it, so I'm engaged!

Royalsteph · 11/01/2015 18:44

congratulations mslad!!! Grin

longestlurkerever · 11/01/2015 18:48

Congratulations Mslad! Lovely news! When will you get married?

leanne963 · 11/01/2015 19:00

Awwwww mslad I am so happy for you :) how lovely!!!!!!!!

Oh snooky I am the same as I have an ectropian cervix any straining causes me to have pink discharge, scary but normal(for me) so I tend not to query! I have completely given up any gluten as I have a bit of an intolernance to it anyway but it blocks me up BAD time. Try a few days of no bread or pasta and see how you get on!!

I had a lovely spa day with my mum (sans hot tub and sauna) and had a facial. Feel spoilt. Also, not to sound big headed, but I caught a glimpse of my bump in my bikini and was like 'oh how bloody cute is that?!' Haha
