Hi everyone,

Hope you all well (or keeping a bit better after what sounds like an awful nasty cough!) and ready for the weekend.

Our scan went well this morning. The waiting room was sooo busy but we were treated so well and all fine so that's great. Can see the baby's tummy is above average in circumference / diameter (!!!) but aside from having a giggle about it, we're feeling good about May!

We had booked a nursery consultation at john lewis too so did that this afternoon. A friend at work recommend it for dedicated advice on what to get (ideal for us as first time parents) and though the lady added lots to the basket with us (well while we had the complementary tea and cake) we will see what we decide to buy either from them or from Sainsburys or wherever!! I'm still avidly saving boots points to buy stuff I want too and there are bound to be loads of deals to be had online. Still, really helpful and probably good for my DH to grasp how much organising & shopping will need to be done.

Chookford · 09/01/2015 19:51

d0tt congrats on the good scan news!!

applecore0317 · 09/01/2015 21:27

Congrats on the scan news dot and leanne and great pictures Leanne :)

Had my first big pregnancy hormonal cry for no reason moment this morning, done ok up till now... Husband found it amusing

Royalsteph · 09/01/2015 21:29

I had a big pregnancy hormonal cry at work before Christmas in front of two of my friends/bosses. that was embarrassing Blush

Scottishgal78 · 09/01/2015 21:35

leanne and d0tt congratulations on your scans. Had my 20 week scan today and all well with baby. I'm team blue and he gave us a thumbs up! So cute! I was convinced I'm having a girl too! I'm booked in for a 32 week scan cos I have low lying placenta. My sister had it with one of hers and said not to worry so I'm just gonna take the positive of having an extra scan! It feels more real now! Let the shopping commence!

bradders85 · 09/01/2015 21:37

congratulations on recent scan news, pleased everything is positive. Apple I had my first and only big cry so far at the Queens Xmas speech! even 10 mins after it my dp asked what made me cry in the context of the speech and I didn't really know... I then sobbed again thinking about it! Ha!!

longestlurkerever · 09/01/2015 21:39

Great news on the scans! Xx

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/01/2015 21:40

I didn't do hormonal crying with my last 3 pregnancies, this ones been quite a shock I can tell you! Things that have set me off are,

  1. DP dunked his biscuit in my tea Blush
  2. I couldn't work out which pushchair to get
  3. DP had a letter from the bank that was hand written (I jumped to all sorts of conclusions Blush)
  4. When Jeff died in Casualty and they raised their paramedic radios in salute. Blush
  5. When my car got stuck in the mud at the school and I had to get 2 teachers and a Dad to push it out.

It's never ending I tell you!

Congrats scottishgirl and on having a boy too! :)

Lol, glad its not just me, royalsteph my cry was also at work as well as in the car on the way to work when the husband was being nice and asking how I was feeling lol

Oh no titsallinabum sounds like it will only get worse then Grin

Royalsteph · 09/01/2015 22:22

my dh had never seen me cry big bawling tears until now. I came home snivelling. not a good look but he will get used to it I'm sure Grin

Turquoisetamborine · 10/01/2015 07:30

Congrats on the boy Scottishgal. Enjoy the shopping and glad everyone else has had great scans.

I haven't had many hormonal cries but did cry yesterday when I slipped down the stairs carrying a plant which went flying. Luckily H was right behind me and I just got a shock and sore elbow. I've felt the baby move loads since then so not worried.

shinyhappyone · 10/01/2015 08:32

There has been so much to read over the past few days, just been catching up on it all!
Congrats on all the scans. Can't believe how many boys there seems to be amongst the maysters!
Sorry that some of you are suffering extra symptoms on top of everything else. Hopefully aches and pains will begin to ease.
When it comes to being emotional- well I'm fairly irrationally emotional anyway hehe. There have been a couple of times when tears have taken me by surprise though. When it happens at work is the worst. When mentoring a Teach First trainee who was struggling the other day, I cried simply because she was crying. Slightly awkward!
Ooh gotta go, have a dog crying because of the crazy wind and wild weather!
Have a lovely wknd everyone xx

teachermummy2b · 10/01/2015 10:14

Already posted on the fb group but team yellow over here! Scan was good and baby is healthy Grin

Going to test pushchairs today which is terribly exciting isn't it!

21 weeks today - lots of movements and a growing bump!

longestlurkerever · 10/01/2015 11:02

Great ellstor! And glad you're feeling movements tori. I am being very lazy too. Think dd is the same. Every time I suggest an activity she vetoes it so octonauts it is.

Finally got to look round our local schools yesterday though and submit the form that is due in this week. Last minute, me?

Have bought loads of maternity clothes in the jojo maman sale but now they have arrived they are much more barbour jacket country set thanI was expecting. Feel like an imposter. Also trying to decide if I will grow into the swimming costume or if it will fall down in the pool.

Horrible weather! Dd's nursery want old clothes so going to have a sort out but could have loads more come tues if scan shows a boy as I am pretty sure dc2 will be our last. What about everyone else?

Mslad · 10/01/2015 11:25

Haha bean - I like that approach!

Happy Saturday everyone. So lovely to hear all the great scan news!! Smile

Dp refers to me as a 'leaker' anyway....so pregnancy tears haven't been that unusual. Blush

leanne963 · 10/01/2015 13:28

Congratulations ellstor so glad everything went well!! I'm 21 weeks tomorrow and she is really busy today kicking me all over the place lol

Lazy Saturday sounds great tori I should be doing a 3000 word essay but I'm watching 'million dollar listing new york' - naughty!!!

applecore0317 · 10/01/2015 14:23

Congratulations Ellstor :)

Can someone add me to the fb group as well please?

BeanCalledPickle · 10/01/2015 14:25

Absolutely definitely the second and last here! So many reasons. I'm 36 and DH is 44. We are too old for this gig:-) also we can maintain a certain standard of living with two that would be impossible with three. And I'm not going through the misery of pregnancy again! I think that mainly though it's the thought of not being as available for three as we would for two. DH is one of six and the eldest, and felt entirely overlooked growing up as there was always someone smaller and in greater need growing up:-(

All that aside if we were younger and richer I totally would!

leanne963 · 10/01/2015 14:25

I would like to be added to the Facebook group too please :)

TwinkleTee · 10/01/2015 15:11

Just got back from our second anomaly scan and it's a GIRL!

Still have to go back one more time though as beanie was facing backwards again and they need to see the heart more clearly...

Not too bothered as it is always nice to see her and at least I can get seen on a Saturday so I don't have to rearrange my insanely busy work diary....

Glad everyone else's scans are going well too. Happy Saturday!

applecore0317 · 10/01/2015 15:16

Congrats Twinkletee welcome to the Girls Clubs, not many of us it seems lol

leanne963 · 10/01/2015 15:24
