Hi everyone! I am still terrible at keeping up as i'm sure you can tell! In my defence I did pick up a new puppy on Saturday so have been a wee bit busy with him!

Am 20 weeks today :) Pleased to be halfway and pleased I only have 26ish weeks of injections left!

loving all the pram chat especially as I don't know what I'm getting/doing yet!

glad your scan was good Three

glad your scan went well Apple

congrats on team blue herewe

glad your internal thingummy went ok twinkle

i am still off coffee and tea so that's good but have been drinking the odd bit of pepsi max. Nothing to be classed as too much though I don't think!

congrats wild on your little boy :)

congrats Bazza!!

hope you feel better soon just

congrats mslad!

congrats leanne!

re: movement, I have worried for a few days not feeling much if anything, but tonight he's having a party in there! I must remember that there's so much room atm and it'll depend where baby is so not to worry!

hope your scan goes well tomorrow leanne

aw that's lovely tori

good luck for your scan too D0tty :)

Hope i've not missed anyone - think i'm all caught up now!

Threesoundslikealot · 09/01/2015 00:10

Hello, Kyz! What sort of puppy is it?

d0tty, love the hiccups! I also love this site for non-pink and blue clothes. Not cheap but they have good sales. www.loveitloveitloveit.co.uk

Fluffeh · 09/01/2015 06:48

Morning ladies! Sorry I've been abut rubbish at keeping up.
Great news on all the scans and blues/yellows/pinks.
I've been feeling movement since 16 weeks but compared to dd this baby is some sort of raving party animal. He wakes me up in the night a few times with big kicks/jumps/flips. I'm thinking it may be a lack of room to move up as my abdomen is full of fluid meaning he gets squashed down.
I saw the registrar yesterday as my consultant was out of clinic. It wasn't great as he is 100% against vbac and home birth. He also said forceps would probably be needed and wouldn't agree to not using them even if I explicitly ask. He said sometimes you just need them.
An elcs is looking much more likely now unless my consultant agrees to let me at least labour at home for the most part. The registrar said I would be closely monitored lying on the bed with internals every hour. That sounds like hell to me and I'd much rather a cs than try my chances at birthing normally in that situation.
I also saw my neuro who is willing to let me try a vbac but wanted an assurance that if my head pain worsened I'd say so and they could move to a cs.
I think the world is against my much wanted home vbac!
In exciting news I have growth scans booked in for February and April so not long until I'll be seeing the baby again :).

Sunshinesaz86 · 09/01/2015 08:10

Morning ladies.

Ooh kyz a puppy and baby you'll have your hands full but at least you'll have plenty of time off with both.

I'm team yellow d0tt and it is hard finding exciting clothes. DP has already gone and bought a red Liverpool fc baby grow however and says whatever sex the baby is it's wearing it! Men! Smile it's quite cute he's so excited tho, he's also bought two Winnie the Pooh neutral baby grows both while out and about on his own.

Titsalinabumsquash · 09/01/2015 08:27

Good luck for all the scans today! I'm swapping the last of DS3's baby clothes for some girls clothes this morning, only the very boyish bits though, the neutral stuff in keeping.

Good luck for today's scans - hope they go well.

Thank you Threesounds for that link - some lovely bright stuff! Nice to get away from the stereotypical baby clothes colours.

Sorry you're not having much luck with your consultants, Fluffeh. Does sound like an elcs might be a better option but it must be frustrating when you clearly feel strongly about wanting a vbac.

There's a thread in Pregnancy about what ladies expecting in April have bought so far which is making me feel very unprepared! So far we have a couple of vests and a blanket (MIL is a knitter) and the promise of various things from SIL. Been busy getting the house finished (have been gradually doing it up since autumn 2013) but we're nearly done now so hopefully can get thinking about baby things soon! Might have a John Lewis visit this weekend to try out prams Smile

Hope everyone has a good day!

mumxof3x · 09/01/2015 08:53

Good luck kyz with the puppy.

Good luck with scans today :)

Only thing I have got for baby is a box of clothes that one of the lovely ladies off the august 13 fb group sent me, as I got rid of everything below 6-9 month of ds3's I washed them all the other day and hung them out on radiators and airer....looked so cute. Dp is working this weekend an nxt weekend for extra cash as we have seen a nursery furniture set in sale lol. I have also seen a pram I want.

I have gone flying this morning and fell flat on my front ouch!

aberjen · 09/01/2015 09:03

Morning ladies! Great to hear more lovely scan news Smile

d0t I think NExt have a few nice, bright unisex vests and sleepsuits: www.next.co.uk/girls/newborn-girls/unisex/1

Fluffeh that sounds frustrating, I know you were hoping for a 24-h discharge if you do end up going for an elcs, did the registrar have anything positive to say about that at least??

Awww, congrats on your puppy Kyz! How is he settling in?

Seem to be going through an early nesting phase here, want to get organized while I still have the energy! So think I'll need to take a trip up into the loft this weekend to see what we've got and what we need (also before I get too big to be able to get up there...!)

aberjen · 09/01/2015 09:05

x-post mum, ouch that sounds painful! How are you now?

Chookford · 09/01/2015 09:07

Morning ladies

kyz Oooh a puppy! What breed is it? We will be getting a boxer puppy when baby is about 6months... We must be mad!

I'm another one struggling to find gender neutral clothes everything is either pink or blue! Think my mum and nan and mil are starting the knitting soon though so should have a fair bit by time baby arrives!

Good luck for all the scans today!

Chookford · 09/01/2015 09:08

mum hope you are ok?!

mumxof3x · 09/01/2015 09:11

Aberjen im ok. Hurt my toe carpet burned my knees and shoulder but im good lol. Also got early nesting here, ive organised all draws and put seperate little boxes in for socks pants etc haha

leanne963 · 09/01/2015 09:33

Ah kyz I love dogs! What did you get?!

My 20 weeks scan was absolutely perfect, she is super chilled and just wanted to sleep! She isn't even here and is making us laugh with this smile....

Good luck to everyone else's scans today!!

Chookford · 09/01/2015 10:18

leanne congrats on your good scan!

leanne963 · 09/01/2015 11:19

Aww thank you so much chook I feel so blessed everything is going well! The previous MC has made me so worried things wouldn't go right!

Justyouwaitandsee · 09/01/2015 11:27

Hi everyone, wow can't believe how much I have missed since checking in yesterday morning.

I am still off work with the cold/chesty big thing. Feel much better but keep having coughing fits which leave me retching over the toilet bowl (like the first trimester all over again!) tried to go in to work this morning but gave it up as a lost cause.

Sorry to everyone experiencing hip, bump and pelvis pain. That sounds really tough. I feel lucky to have escaped that entirely so far but the coughs, colds, lip ulcers, sickness and tiredness seem to be my fate. Weird how we all get hit by different symptoms.

We have heard that our pushchair is now ready for collection so will need to go and pick that up at some point and might also take the chance to check out the rest of the M&P sale.

Hope you have a chance to rest up a bit mumx - that sounds painful!

Justyouwaitandsee · 09/01/2015 11:28

Ps. Congrats on all the lovely scan news and pics Smile

cuphat · 09/01/2015 12:36

Lovely scan pics Leanne and glad your scan went well.

leanne963 · 09/01/2015 13:13

Thank you Just and Cup :D :D

mumxof3x · 09/01/2015 14:11

Leanne lovely piks congrats.

Im ok thankyou ladies :) feel awfuly drained today, iv had lots of energy last 2 days and just feel awful today ergh

Mslad · 09/01/2015 14:22

Congrats on your scan leanne - lovely pictures! good luck to everyone else scanning today Smile

ooh kyz a puppy! What kind? I'm sooooo jealous!! We paid a deposit for a puppy twice last year, and each time, in the same week, I got my bfp!! Mr. Sensible (aka my dp) put his foot down and said we couldn't have a new baby and new puppy. Harumph! My friend just got a cockapoo and he is adorable.

Hope you're ok mum - that must have been scary.

I went to my first 'babies & bumps' meeting this morning. The babies were extremely cute and very well behaved, it was lovely!

Can anyone describe what Braxton Hicks feel like? I've read a bit and am intrigued, but can't imagine what they're like. Is it like a period cramp? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

In other advice needed, dp and I live in Holland. Here you have 2 days post birth to register the baby(!), and we have to prove that we're not married!! any idea how you could prove you've never been married?

leanne963 · 09/01/2015 14:39

Thank you mum and Mslad :D I want to know this too, i have no idea what Braxton Hicks feel like so could have one and not even know lol

mumxof3x · 09/01/2015 14:46

Braxton hicks feel like your tummy is been squeezed really tight and your whole bump goes hard and then relaxes again...usually painless (but mine can get quite painful like contractions, I was told I more than likely had irritable uterus) first pregnancys are usually felt a tad later then subsequent ones, although they will have happened you just dont tend to notice them until they get stronger :D think I was 30 wk when I felt them first time round and then 15wk with second and 3rd and this time have been from rly early x

longestlurkerever · 09/01/2015 14:48

Mslad there is something called a certificate of no impediment to marriage that might be of use:

www.gov.uk/pay-foreign-marriage-certificates

How weird though!

I had my first Braxton Hicks yesterday. It felt like my stomach went all hard for a few seconds - almost like the baby's head was poking out of it but then I realised it was all over. It was after sex Blush. I only ever got them after sex with dd too. I never got spontaneous ones even right at the end so was convinced she was going to need to be induced but then I went into labour with no prior warning.

Congrats on the good scans. I am alternately excited and terrified about mine on Tuesday.

Sorry to those suffering pain of one sort and another. I had round ligament pain with dd that was quite intense for a day or two - I even went to maternity triage in case it was the start of SPD - but never developed into anything more and settled back down.

BeanCalledPickle · 09/01/2015 17:20

I would take your partner with you, be nice to each other, affectionate and respectful of each other view points and decisions. That should demonstrate effectively and quickly that you aren't married:-)
