Congrats on the good scans :)

I got told I needed a full bladder, and had no internal scan.

Kitty you look fab :)

Tits, my nipples are so so sore, its not nice.

Re coffee, I have a cup first thing in the morning, given ds3 is a terrible sleeper and im usually up 8x every night with him it wakes me up abit. I have never been a coffee drinker until ds3, even though all of my kids have been bad sleepers until 2. And it also makes me go to the toilet (sorry) its only thing that works.

I am going to go look for a pram this weekend I think..im excited :)

Justyouwaitandsee · 07/01/2015 09:55

Hi ladies, I have come down with some sort of cold/throat infection - started with a cough yesterday and all bunged up with swollen glands which make breathing painful. Have had to call in sick.

Amazing to see how quickly things are moving and hearing us all talking about mat leave dates etc. I feel a bit like I am randomly plucking dates out of the air but think I am aiming to finish at Easter, hopefully giving me a bit of time before baby is due (on 28th april). Currently have two weeks of holiday in hand so will see if I can carry some over.

Chookford · 07/01/2015 11:28

Morning ladies

Glad to hear some more lovely scan news! I have two coming up one on the 15th and then the 19th I am back to worrying something will be wrong again! gah will this fear never end!

sun glad to hear your midwife ahs reassured you its nothing to worry about, hope it doesn't happen again!

smiley glad to hear you are being looked after, hopefully the lump will correct itself in time.

I am starting to think of mat leave now but have to sit down with my boss and work out when I can go.. I would like to go early April and have 5 weeks of annual leave to use before mat leave so that should be fine.

kitty that's a lovely bump pic! enjoy hearing your little lady's hb again today!

Chookford · 07/01/2015 11:29

just hope you feel better soon, my dd had this horrible cold thing that is going round last week it wasn't pleasant! Hope it doesn't last too long

cuphat · 07/01/2015 11:36

Lovely bump pic kitty.

Hope you feel better soon Just. I've been ill with nasty colds more than I've been well during this pregnancy so far!

DD has just recovered from one too, chook. It was horrible.

Chookford · 07/01/2015 12:06

cup I am just praying I don't pick it up! she was really poorly bless her, my mum has it this week so having to steer clear of her for a while, its not nice!

TheWildOnes · 07/01/2015 12:15

Haven't been on thread for a while but had my scan today, exactly 20 weeks and we are having a boy, DS7 will be very happy, DD11 not so much.

cuphat · 07/01/2015 12:22

I hope you avoid it chook. DD came down with it on Christmas Eve when we were going away, so not the best timing. Yesterday was the first day she was better (though her nose is still runny). She wasn't been able to keep food down with all the coughing, poor thing. She spread it to a lot of my family over Christmas, oops!

I feel like staying indoors for the rest of the pregnancy as I can't cope with any more coughs - over five weeks of coughing in total so far. Coughing that much is not great for the pelvic floor and apparently was a factor in me developing PGP!

cuphat · 07/01/2015 12:23

Hasn't been not wasn't!

Congrats Wild.

Chookford · 07/01/2015 12:35

cup that's exactly what my dd had, it was making her sick.. she had it all last week and still has a horrible runny nose and a slight cough but is much better now, although being back at school I'm sure it wont be too long before she has another one!

I can imagine after 5 weeks of being poorly you have had enough... hope you start you feel a bit better soon, hopefully once Jan is over the colds/coughs will start to subside.. I hate January! ha

wild massive congrats on your blue bundle... the boys are really dominating this thread and the June thread! Smile

Bazza2 · 07/01/2015 12:56

IT'S A BOY!!!

cuphat · 07/01/2015 13:03

Sounds exactly the same, chook - poor things. Thanks Smile

Congrats Bazza!

Chookford · 07/01/2015 13:13

Bazza congrats!! another boy.... where are all the girls hiding?! Grin

Sunshinesaz86 · 07/01/2015 14:15

lovely bump pic kitty suits you.

Thanks chook :)

thanks for your thoughts ladies and longest i have treble checked about carying hols over but definitley cant as it would mean having possibly 8 weeks plus hols to use in less than 10 months (if that makes sense) . ps very exciting about your sisters wedding, i love a good wedding.

not long to go for you tori d0tt exciting having a date in sight!

three i would also prefer to work closer to EDD as my other option is take the pay while on mat so have the money at say christmas time or something but as its my first i am usure how i wil be feeling so dont want to leave myself in a position where i am struggling so have to go off sick, as my twin suffered with awful spd with both hers an had to finish work at 30/32 weeks with one 5lb baby and one 7lb baby and our bodies are built exactly the same! however if my boss lets me go on lighter duties ie no physical appointments and i stay office based i may change my dates.

hope your illness eases soon just

congrats on team bluse wild and bazza lovely news.

i hope i've not got any names mixed up with my comments aplogies if i have!

Mslad · 07/01/2015 15:00

Hi all,

Kitty really lovely bump picture!

I also can't believe we're beginning to think about maternity leave! Hope the next couple of months goes quickly!

It's team pink here! I'm surprised as I had always assumed I'd have a boy, but we are completely over the moon with a girl. Also, despite being such a voice of doom, everything seemed normal in the scan. What a relief Smile

Chookford · 07/01/2015 15:11

mslad hooray that's brilliant news! And a girl.. Lets start evening out these boys!

mumxof3x · 07/01/2015 15:52

Congrats everyone on the good scans. Wow lots of boys x

Snooky17 · 07/01/2015 17:08

Congratulations on all the scan news, oh I have forgotten how much I love indigestion .......not

bradders85 · 07/01/2015 17:54

congratulations on all the scan news ladies Grin.

leanne963 · 07/01/2015 18:03

Congratulations Everyone on their bundles of beautiful Blue :D

Team Pink here!!!

I unfortunately do not have to deal with the maternity leave paperwork as i am in my final year of uni so i technically don't finish til May the 28th (Due May the 24th) but i am going to try to finish all my work a few weeks early. But i think even that is over estimating how much i will be able to do...

kitty Gorgeous bump you have, i wish mine was a little bigger!!

Blondie87 · 07/01/2015 18:11

Congratulations on everyone's scans- it's so lovely to have a
positive 20 week scan. Can't believe the number on team blue though! Is it realistic as a teacher to work until May 1st if baby boy is due on 15th? Want to have as much time as possible off after with him.
I agree, prams/travel systems etc are so confusing! Thinking an Oyster 2 or Icandy Peach- anyone had any experience of either of these? Looking forward to a John Lewis trip to try them out! Having a bump rocks!

BeanCalledPickle · 07/01/2015 18:32

I think it's very difficult to predict how you will feel. I left at 35 weeks last time because I knew I was having her at 39 weeks. If I could have gone as late as 42 then I would have limped on later! This time I plan 37 weeks but actually might prefer earlier as I would probably really appreciate the free time first in a way I didn't last time!

KittyVonCatsington · 07/01/2015 18:35

Aw ladies, you are too kind! Grin

Wonderful news on the scans today! Lots more bonnie boys but a smattering of giggly girls too!!

Glad the scan went well especially for Mslad - hopefully you can now start to enjoy your pregnancy in anticipation for meeting your lil' lady!

Blondie I think it is possible but depends on you and the pregnancy? One colleague at school was due New Years Eve and worked till the end of term so had two weeks. See how you feel nearer the time.

Sounds like you will ace your course leanne with all the hard work you have been putting in!

Hope those feeling unwell get better soon!

MW appointment went well (will never tire of hearing Kitlet's HB!) Got my MATB1 form on what is technically the 24 week app even though I am 23+3. Handed it straight in at work but took photos of it for my records, first.

Also got booked in for the hospital visit/tour which will be February. BP is still on the low side but otherwise all seems fine! I loved the fact the MW could feel my tummy and say things like "her back is here". Reminds me there is a little person in there Grin

SmileyScooby · 07/01/2015 19:29

Thanks for your comments re our situation, we are looking on the bright side that there is no major panic.
Congrats to all those with scans and appointments today.
Hope you feel better soon just
Regarding maternity leave I'm going to officially be on leave from first day after Easter Holidays (20th April) but unofficially from Good Friday (3rd April) So officially 3 weeks before, unofficially 5 weeks.

Kitty might be an idea to get photocopy for your other half for work as I know a friend at work had to ask for it back as his work needed a copy too. You've reminded me I need to book GP for MatB1 for couple of weeks time.

Can't believe how quick time is going in a way!! 18 weeks to go for me, holy cow 56 working days to go (just did quick calculation!) ive got so much to do for work including coursework marking/kids finishing coursework (so I can mark it!!!)

shinyhappyone · 07/01/2015 19:32

Hi blondie. I'm a primary teacher and due on 12th may. I'm planning on finishing at 36 weeks. Work have been really good about me deciding nearer the time but as I literally don't sit down between 9 and 3, I'm thinking 36 weeks will be enough!! Maybe I'll be fighting fit when I get there though and work a little longer!! xx
