I've also got deep veins, took a midwife and 2 nurses 4 times to get my booking in blood out! Confused Xx

SparklyPenguin · 30/12/2014 19:37

I had no problem at all when it came to giving the pee sample though! The way my bladder is at the moment I could've given them about four......

Bustherb · 30/12/2014 19:42

Ha ha sparkly. X

Supershiv1 · 30/12/2014 19:53

headless so sorry to hear your news. Take care x

I am on the lactulose after spending Christmas afternoon on the loo trying to pass a large Christmas bauble. I am taking this as a good sign all is OK.
Told work last week, they were OK, but the relief to get it off my chest was so much better.

NotPennysBoat · 30/12/2014 20:05

Another one with difficult veins here!
After much stabbing and digging around by the mw last week I went to the phlebotomy dept at hospital today. I was sceptical to say the least as the young man hardly looked/felt my arm at all but two seconds later he was in there and tubes were filling up nicely. He must have noticed the look of shock on my face because he said "I do this all day, every day - I'm an expert!". And he was! So don't worry sparkly it's much better than having a mw or nurse dig around, it was almost painless!

StoneBaby · 30/12/2014 20:09

Crakey the thread is moving fast!

I also got hidden veins and always show the nurse which one to go for. Once I went to A&E for a suspected pneumonia and 2 nurses and the blood test nurse failed so the emergency doctor tried, failed too and at the end they took the blood from the vein on my wrist. I was covered in bruises!

Welcome to the newbies Smile

Hi everyone I've just found the new thread - been a bit distracted by Xmas!

Really jealous of all the scans, mine's not til next week. I've had more bleeding over the past few days but EPU won't scan again til next week anyway. Although I'm now getting worried about needing anti-d if I keep bleeding coming up to 12w so I may need to call them again anyway...

Has anyone else got really massive boobs now??!! Mine have gone up 4 cup sizes!! It's a bit ridiculous. I'm only 11+4 today so I hope they don't keep on growing as this was the size I ended up at when I was in the early days of BFing last time, not in the first trimester!!

I can't wait to tell work and get it off my chest, it's really hard to hide and I hate keeping secrets, I'm not good at it.

Bustherb · 30/12/2014 21:19

Tiny my boobs have gone up a cup and back size but I think I need to get measured again because I've got red marks across my chest and boobs Blush xxx

jmojo · 30/12/2014 21:32

I had my scan Monday so I am 12+2 now. Just have to wait until friday for blood results from combined test. We wanted to know the sex but of course the baby wasn't helpful! Possibly a girl the doc said but he will look at the next scan for us!

naty1 · 30/12/2014 21:32

I think the butterfly would help veins.not sure its the same but a syringe without vacuum worked really well.
Drinking lots of water.
One nurse tried mid arm -aww and had to give up.
Yes the hospital blood lab have been amazing.
Keeping warmer and walking to have blood taken seem to help.
(Not sure if its related to thyroid issue which makes me cold)
And they have to pull the tornique really tight, a clip one seems better for this.
My scan is next week.

broodylicious · 30/12/2014 21:36

tiny, I'd defo contact them re anti d - too much of a risk if you don't pester x

Sherbet38 · 30/12/2014 22:39

Second Charlie & Tilly. Lovely scan picture Miss Smile

Our scan went well today. A very wriggly little baby, either dancing or hiccuping Smile Baby measured ahead at 12+3 and due date is now 11th July. Got lots of pictures, about 10! Baby is 8cm including its little legs, amazing Smile. 20 week scan is on 24th Feb.

Hi all,

Lovely to come to the new thread!
I've managed to survive what I thought would be never ending vomiting...definitely one of the worst christmas periods in my 24 years!

Thanks also for putting me on the stats list.... But after my booking appt I was told I'm now edd on 27th July. I would be grateful if someone could edit it for me. There seems to be no edit option(ipad).

Also love the cute scan pictures :) I have my scan mid jan so it seems so far away! How long do these appointments in general take? I don't know whether I should expect to take a whole day off from work or only half day?

Also I am a big worrier and I have posted in pregnancy forum concerning work worries and my pregnancy. Would love advice! The outline being I start new job in jan but then 2 weeks later I need a day off for scan and I'm so worried about it all!

SophieBarringtonWard · 31/12/2014 07:44

Just popping in to mark place on new thread.

Had crap night with kids last night, both needed me during the night & ended up squeezed in between them in my bed, barely slept. DC3 seeming not so great an idea at 4am Hmm

StoneBaby · 31/12/2014 07:49

sophie the kids know you need to get back into a night shift routine so they are preping you for DC3. Wink fx you'll manage to have some rest

Is anyone else having really vivid (and quite odd) dreams? I never normally remember dreams but since I've been pregnant they are getting odder and I can remember all the details in the morning.

fattycow · 31/12/2014 08:20

Hello ladies! How is everyone?

Where is the stats list?

Number3cometome · 31/12/2014 09:21

Sherbet38 ahh lovely pic!

Ceejay yes!!! Sometimes I wake up crying, it's quite annoying.

fatty here it is - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1p3idkH2TaQYAy22I_N73k1_-G6Ezq67lAdhQvDjQkU0/edit?pli=1#gid=0

My sickness is back today, walked in the kitchen, heaved and ran to the loo.
Wasn't anything in my stomach at 5am except pregnancy vitamins and blood pressure tablets, so I was heaving so bad. I now have red spots over my eyes and what looks like a burst blood vessel under the skin - very sexy.

Naughty baby!! I am convinced this is a girl now!!

broodylicious · 31/12/2014 09:28

It's horrid, isn't it, number? Heaving with nothing in your tummy? Every morning, I get frothy white spit like stuff followed by yellow bile. Bleurgh. Still not complaining though - all good signs.

Pipbin · 31/12/2014 09:28

I've finally got my scan date through.
19th of January I'll be 13+3 by then!

WantToGoingTo · 31/12/2014 09:40

ceejay yes! I have vivid dreams nearly every night Hmm

lewaney don't worry, thy will have to give you time off for scan and legally it should not be taken out I annual leave. Do they know you are pregnant yet? They must have had other pregnant employees in the past, I know it is anxious time for you but sure hey will be understanding, they have to be. :)

10+5

Number3cometome · 31/12/2014 09:40

broodylicious

That's exactly what I get, and the heaving is worse than if I have eaten.

I do feel better after to be fair, which is a marked improvement on about 7 or 8 weeks when I literally couldn't keep anything down all day.

It is now just like the morning sickness I had with my other two - sick before food, then headache, then food then fine, although I do still feel nausea all day long. I don't get it every day though, it seems to be random but a smell can set the heaving off then it's game over haha

Pip mines the 15th Jan, seems like forever away!!

WantToGoingTo · 31/12/2014 09:54

Eek my scan is 9 jan which is my first week back after Xmas and I haven't told work yet. I have no line manager until feb and my line managers manager is on leave til mid jan! So will have to email her on leave. Awkward. Then when she gets back we are discussing my workin hours except now I'm pg so that will be more awkward (but hopefully work on my favour!!)

BadIdeaBear · 31/12/2014 10:42

sherbet we're now due date twins following both our scans! Great pic.

My dreams are bonkers, ceejay - I've never remembered dreams so well - seems I was an outdoor swimming pool attendant for a kind of manor house hotel last night... what?! Mind you, at least it wasn't a proper nightmare or a sexy dream!

Ceejay14 · 31/12/2014 10:47

Glad the dreams aren't just me! I woke up at 2am today furious with DH for something he did in my dream. Blush I told him about it and he said it sounds like something he'd do!
