Ahh it looks like number 2 on the list (lindsey?) has been mixed up with your name. All sorted now Grin

smallgreenbanana · 30/12/2014 16:18

DH took me out today to buy some clothes for my birthday (early January). I was so pleased to have some nice things when I got home I tried them all on again and danced around in front of the bathroom mirror. Made me realise how down I've been about being ill and bloated for months. Now I feel a lot better. Smile

I've gone up a cup size and my new bras are non-wire and super comfy. My new tops skim over my small bump in what I'm hoping is an eye-avoiding way!

It is so nice to feel a bit cheerful and sexy for once. Xmas Smile

broody that is so cute!

My non-wire bra is v uncomfortable atm. I am hoping it just needs wearing in! The cups are so humongous they are digging in to my armpits Confused tried lose ing straps but then it bunches up underneath my boobs. It is like the cups come up too high? I am used to wearing plunge bras! Maybe that's why, different shape Hmm

Overtiredbackagain · 30/12/2014 16:29

Tilly welcome and congrats! I'm in the old bird clan tooWink

Pipbin · 30/12/2014 16:36

Hello Tilly. Another old bird here. 39, 40 when I'm due.

Naturegirl82 · 30/12/2014 16:42

Sorry to hear your news headless Thanks

Scan this morning was all fine. Took a while to get NT measurement but it's only 1.4mm so as long as bloods ok I'm assuming I'll be low risk again. Baby was napping all curled up so I had to cough to get it to stretch out which it wasn't best pleased with and decided to moonie us instead Grin I'm hoping not to find out the sex. Didn't want to know last time but that didn't go to plan so really hoping to keep it a suprise this time but will just see how things go.

misseskimo · 30/12/2014 16:58

Welcome Tilly and Charlie

Bustherb · 30/12/2014 16:59

I love that pic miss! We're dd buddies xx

Littledragon13 · 30/12/2014 16:59

My scan went really well. Baby was asleep and super chilled out, legs crossed and thumb in mouth Grin

My due date got brought forward by a day and everything else looked as it should. What a relief!

The man doing the scan was a right misery though, you would've thought they would try to be nice! He kept referring to the baby as "he" does he know something we don't!?

Bustherb · 30/12/2014 17:06

Sorry to hear that headless, thinking of you xxx

Aretepetite · 30/12/2014 17:28

itsnotthatdeep · 30/12/2014 18:45

just looked at my notes and have realised that even though im massive Shock ive only put half a kilo on Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock and about 2 pounds in total since I weighed myself in October. Grin

im a bit shocked as ive been fairly inactive and had no ms at all.

I suppose going off meat and having no appetite has helpedWink

SparklyPenguin · 30/12/2014 18:47

Aww, good to hear all the positive news from the scans, ladies! Had my booking-in appointment today, midwife was lovely and reassuring about everything. I was a bit freaked out over having blood taken (never had a blood test before) and she said my veins looked 'difficult' and would be better left for a phlebotomist to do next week after my scan.... Oh well! Hmm

JoY007 · 30/12/2014 18:50

So sorry to hear your news headless stay positive and keep trying hugs and xxx.

Nice to have you tilly and *charlie. Tilly I am also a youngish bird 38 Grin

broodylicious · 30/12/2014 18:54

Good news penguinSmile I have "difficult" veins too. Taking blood the first time round with dd was tough and I ended up really bruised but at the hospital, they're proper experts and she found a "juicier arm" which I was then able to show the mw next time around (15 weeks I think?) Then when I got to labour, I met the cannula experience and a needle happy student nurseShockShockShock - ladies, I kid you not when I say labour was far less painful than that nurse with that bloody cannula!

broodylicious · 30/12/2014 19:07

Lol, nice work on finishing up that last thread leela Wink

Thepurplegiraffe · 30/12/2014 19:16

I have difficult veins too apparently, I have had a few people use butterfly needles which I think are often used for children and find the vein more easily. Might be worth suggesting...

Pipbin · 30/12/2014 19:19

I have difficult veins too, but I've had so much blood taken that I knew where to direct the midwife for the blood test at my booking in.
Last egg collection I had the nurse was learning how to do a cannula too (had loads of those before too) she made a bollock of it but she was lovely so I didn't really mind.

SparklyPenguin · 30/12/2014 19:32

Thanks for the advice everyone! Sure it'll be fine at the hospital next week- I'd just been mentally preparing for the dreaded needle today and when it didn't happen I didn't quite know how to feel!
