My ms is back with avengence so working from home today sat in bed watching Hannibal. Going away for the weekend with DP so hoping this is a one off.

Thought it would be getting better by now (11+6).

TinyCaterpillar · 31/12/2014 11:27

Thanks broody I think you're right, I will call them.

sophie same here on the rubbish night, I had both in with me last night too. I'm not sure if I just feel less tired in general with this pregnancy or I'm just used to being So.Damn.Tired. all the time now.

Nausea again today, thought it had gone away, annoying.

Bustherb · 31/12/2014 11:33

I totally sympathise with everyone's sickness, I'm (touch wood) starting to come out of it now and just sick randomly now and again. I know that weeks 9,10 and 11 were my worst weeks and I found nothing helped. I'm 13&1 xxx

StoneBaby · 31/12/2014 11:39

No more sickness or nausea here. Huge appetite tho but still a lot of cramps/back ache

As a friend just said Number less time to wait between the 12 and 20 week scans.

Leela5 · 31/12/2014 11:41

My dreams are also bonkers!

I had the worst sleep last night and I'm at work :(

I also have a bump! Everyone is noticing!

My ms is barely noticeable now, I'm hoping that's it...

Number3cometome · 31/12/2014 11:53

Pipbin Yes true!

Didn't think of it like that.

My sickness returned this morning, last time I had it before today was Boxing Day.

NotPennysBoat · 31/12/2014 11:56

Haha all this talk of dreams reminded me of a conversation with DH this week...
Me: I had a really weird dream last night...
DH: Me too! What was yours about?
Me: I dreamt that the baby was trying to kick it's way out of my belly!
DH: I dreamt that I was trying to reason with Mario Ballotelli!

MEN!

NotPennysBoat

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! how funny! My OH said that he had a conversation with Arsene Venger hahahahhaha!!!

Zampa · 31/12/2014 12:50

Just got my Harmony results back. Looked like a normal letter and it took a while for the data to sink in.

We're ultra low risk (0.01%)!

Still going to wait for next week's scans before going public but very pleased and far more relaxed now.

Pipbin · 31/12/2014 13:05

That sounds good Zampa
What is the difference between a harmony test and the regular test?

Zampa · 31/12/2014 13:25

Harmony involves a blood test, whereby they separate the maternal and foetal DNA. The foetal DNA is then tested for the different chromosome issues (Downs, Turners and Pataus) as well as any X Y anomalies. You can just pay for the blood test or the blood tests and an additional scan where they also review NT.

I understand that the NHS blood test looks at things like raised protein levels, which can indicate the same anomalies.

The false positive rate for Harmony is less than 0.01%.

The labs are currently in California only but by the time we do this again (!) a London lab will have been established, reducing the costs further.

The total cost was £485 (reduced a month or so ago from £595). As I'm 34, I wanted this additional reassurance.

broodylicious · 31/12/2014 13:33

Lol penny! Everyone knows that Balliotelli would never see reason, he's a crazy fool I quite love him

Bustherb · 31/12/2014 14:25

Think I've jinxed myself from my early post, I have done nothing but throw up today Hmm Confused Xxx

Fleurchamp · 31/12/2014 14:54

zampa that's great news. We get our harmony test results next week, fingers crossed we are in the same bracket as you!

We had ours done at FMC, £400 for viability scan, Harmony test and 12 week NT test. Good value I thought.

Thepurplegiraffe · 31/12/2014 15:04

Hi all, had my 12 week scan today and all looks good so far. A strong heartbeat and nt measurement of 1.6. That is ok right? So relieved.

I also have a new edd of 11th July, not that different to the old one but I had already adjusted that forward by a couple of days to account for my short cycles.

Bustherb · 31/12/2014 15:45

That's great purple. I think those measurements are low, I'm sure I read somewhere it's over 3.0 for high but I could be wrong xx

Thepurplegiraffe · 31/12/2014 15:55

Thanks Bustherb, been a bit worried about it as my uncle has downs and I am 36. Still got to wait on the blood results but feeling positive now.

SophieBarringtonWard · 31/12/2014 16:02

I'm worried too purple, more worried than in previous pregnancies for some reason, perhaps because I feel like going for a third is pushing it as I've been so lucky already? I have a cousin with Downs & a cousin with a syndrome the name of which I always forget but which is very rare & chromosomal.

When can you have the Harmony test up until?

misseskimo · 31/12/2014 16:48

Anyone looking for a deal on Bottles/Sterilisers, Amazon have the Tommy Tippee Steriliser Starter Kits on offer atm.

The smaller one [1 x electric steam steriliser, 2 x 150 ml bottles with slow flow teats, 2 x 260 ml bottles with slow flow teats, 6 x milk powder dispensers, 1 x bottle and teat brush] for £29.99

The larger one [1 x Electric Steam Steriliser, 1 x Travel Steriliser, 1 x Electric Bottle and Food Warmer, 3 x 150ml Closer to Nature Easi-Vent Bottles with Slow Flow Teats, 5 x 260ml Closer to Nature Easi-Vent Bottles with Slow Flow Teats, 2 x Medium Flow Teats – 3-6m, 2 x Fast Flow Teats – 6m+, 4 x Milk Storage Lids, 6 x Milk Powder Dispensers – 0m+, 2 x Insulated Bottle Bags, 1 x Bottle and Teat Brush, 1 x Soother, 1 x Bottle Brush, 1 x Teat Tongs] for £49.99.

I've been tracking these online for a while as they have really good reviews well, all except the bottle warmer, which is very mixed and this is by far the cheapest price they've ever been. Guessing it's a "January Sale" thing, but either way, I've just ordered one of the larger packs to go into the nursery pile Smile

Zampa · 31/12/2014 16:57

That's good value Fleur. Fx for you.

Sophie You can have the Harmony test (or equivalent) any time after 10+1. I don't think there's a time limit. I went to the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester and would recommend it.

SophieBarringtonWard · 31/12/2014 17:28

I'm in Manchester too Zampa! Feeling less on edge having looked up my cousin's syndrome (Sotos syndrome) and discovered that while it is genetic it isn't congenital - so basically I am not at any higher risk, it's just something that occurs in 1 in 14,000 births…

Will wait see how reassured I feel when I get my NT measurements back I think.

Zampa · 31/12/2014 18:16

Sophie Good luck!

broodylicious · 31/12/2014 18:43

While the talk has come round to bottles - I recommend Medela if you're thinking of combining bottle and breast feeding or expressing. They do a teat that exactly mimicks the breast so less chance of nipple confusion. The Swing pump also mimicks baby suckling so easier and more comfortable to express. It's a pricey brand but well worth the money.

Thepurplegiraffe · 31/12/2014 18:51

I second medala. The pump was easy to use (I used it alot) and it is much easier to use the bottles that go with it. We are still using them.
