Merry Christmas all. As predicted, DS was up at 4!! Crazy early.
Poor DH is ill with a stomach bug, so looks like dinner just for me and DS today. Hope we don't catch it! Hope you all have a good day Xmas Smile x

Tryingreallyhard84 · 25/12/2014 13:33

A late login to say Happy Christmas to you all. Day went better than expected after dd wouldn't settle last night... Not because of over excitement but because of a terror of Father C coming into her room!! Hung up stocking by the fire in the end but bless her heart! She didn't even really want to go down to see if he had been this morning. However, a few presents later she thought he was a jolly good thing.

She was very good through two church services (last night and this morning) and still has a load of presents to open, including ours. She's been a delight, actually, not grabby for presents and taking time to play with each one she opens. Baby #2 better be reading this, we have high expectations of you, young'un!!!

Hello,

I'm new to this site but was hoping to meet people due in June 2015. I'm pregnant with my first baby so need all the advice I can get.

Haven't told work yet but it's the Xmas period so a nice time to tell friends and family finally!

Growing a bump already (I'm a size 8) which is odd but I love it at the same time!

Is there an equivalent thread for people from South London for meeting up etc?

KJ

First chance i've managed to get onto my phone all day... So a belated merry christmas! From me.

Very chaotic day in our house which started with ds (4) upsetting me with his behaviour... Its been progressively worse so me making them wait until 8:30 to go down to check if father christmas had been, but thankfully he was pretty good all day as was dd (2) ... Nxt year i'll hav a just 5yr old, 3yr old and 6 mth old!! MAD HOUSE!!

Tomorrow sees our epic trip south from Manchester-dover to visit dh family... We dont leave until 5pm usually as over the years we hav sussed that a stop at around 7pm to get kids into pj's will then allow them to sleep the rest of the trip. Thankfully we are staying in a hotel for the week, and hav our new nephew (born 20th) to visit aswell as all our other family including other nephew who was 1 today (christmas day).

Might not be around much but am taking laptop so hopefully will get onto hotel wifi in the evenings.

Welcome kj... We have a fb group which u can join and i'm sure as we get further along and when our babies arrive regional meet ups will most probably b arranged.. Let me know all your vitals and i can add u to the stats x

Newgirl33 · 26/12/2014 08:30

Merry Christmas everybody! Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday.

My MIL seems to believe I really should be eating for 2! Double portions of everything, which is a struggle when I can't even manage a portion for 1 at the moment. I've tried politely saying no but it isn't working!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 26/12/2014 08:50

Welcome KJ - we're a friendly bunch. Hope you are having a nice Christmas. My work don't know yet but like you I've recently enjoyed telling friends and family. It's my first so this thread has been a mine of information as well as a great place to rage/vent appropriate. Xmas Grin

Bought a couple of maternity items of clothing in the sales. Nothing major, but a start. I started looking at prams/pushchairs yesterday....absolutely NO idea what to get.

As my duck has now fully defrosted, we're hoping to try Christmas dinner today. Blush

Jazzy - hope the drive goes well and you get to give that little new born a squeeze. X

Chookford · 26/12/2014 09:12

KJ congrats and welcome, hope you had a lovely Xmas day!

jazzy hope your journey is a stress free one!

I have to do it all again today at the in laws, I'm so tired I just want to sleep! And have no idea what to do with all dd's presents, they are over running the house! Have a great boxing day everyone!

Happy Christmas ladies!

Hope the drives go ok today, and that the belated duck is delish Trying!

Were still at my folks after doing the in laws then mine, we are going to attempt the drive back to London tonight with DS in his pjs at sleep time, fingers crossed it will be ok transferring him to bed when we get back!

Really hope nobody has been suffering with nausea, I feel for the July/August ladies who are probably in the thick of it - I've really been enjoying the food!!

Had a v small glass of red with Xmas dinner too which i enjoyed. Later in pregnancy I know it will give me heartburn!

Phryn · 26/12/2014 16:03

Merry Christmas to all!

Lovely DH got me a dream genie pillow - finally I might get a good night's sleep!

Hope everyone is well. There is now a September antenatal thread. Time is passing thankfully!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 26/12/2014 17:45

Duck was gorgeous and well worth the 24 hour wait. Grin

Although, my grandma died today so it's put a rather odd spin on the day. Sad She was old and had been in and out of hospital for the past few months. I'm just sad I didn't get to see her, although my mum told her I was pregnant last week.

Have a lovely evening people. get some well earned rest from all the driving, playing and eating. Grin

AnythingNotEverything · 26/12/2014 19:16

Oh god sunbathing sounds like you needed a gin! I am sure after a certain point in their life, people lose the tactful switch in their brain.

Sorry to hear about your grandma trying.

Had a really lovely Christmas Day. Dd is 2 and a half and it was the first time that I think she has really appreciated what is going on and she was such fun to be with all day. Christmas dinner was delicious and everyone was nice to each other! Rare that everything goes so smoothly. Hard to imagine next year there will be another baby in the house!

Chookford · 26/12/2014 20:33

tryingbreally sorry to hear your news, but am glad she got to know about the baby.

sun some people are so thoughtless aren't they?! I too believe after a certain age that part of your brain goes away and you just say things without a filter!!

Sorry to hear about your novelty gran trying Flowers

Tranquilitybaby · 26/12/2014 22:47

*lovely

KJbump · 26/12/2014 23:13

Thanks Jazzyjenbo, tryingreallyhard84, chookford.

Sunbathingcat - I'm lucky, my boobs have grown but with it the bump. I'm scared work people will notice the bump and I'm not sure if I hold off telling them until my 18/20 week scan?!

I'm also hungry a lot but when I eat I get fuller quicker. These past 2-3 days I've had a full stomach pain. It is Xmas after all but I'm hoping its normal. Need to unbutton my maternity jeans..... Hoping this full feeling goes away!

Hope everyone had a great Boxing Day! X

Slacktacular · 27/12/2014 08:06

Happy belated Christmas all! We have had a great one (a 2 yr old with presents is such a delight!) but an anxious time too. Driving north on Christmas Eve I started bleeding bright red blood out of the blue. After a visit to A&E we were sent for a scan which showed healthy baby (the RELIEF!) but early placenta previa (the worry Shock). They agreed not to admit me as the bleeding stopped and appreciated we were half way up the country on Xmas Eve with a toddler & my sister. Apparently if all is well it will resolve itself and move backwards off my cervix but worryingly I could bleed again before that happens...if it does. Scary stuff, as there's nothing I can do except take it easy and try not to freak out. Struggling with the latter!
So here I am in the beautiful Lake District having to sit on my behind all the time :( . Also poor toddler understands that Mummy has a 'sore tummy' and can't lift her, but is desperate for cuddles and missing being carried (I was still babywearing her for comfort/convenience sometimes). Still, keep having to tell myself it could've been MUCH worse news and so I feel lucky in some ways. Hope everyone else is doing well

Tryingreallyhard84 · 27/12/2014 08:43

Slack - sorry to hear you've had a rough few days. I hope it sorts itself out quickly. Enjoy the lakes as much as you can.

We've had a decent amount of snow here. I want hubs to wake up so we can go walk in it before we have to be sensible adults and shovel it out the way. Xmas Smile

ChatEnOeuf · 27/12/2014 08:54

Merry Christmas everyone! It's a mad Christmas for us, travelling all over the UK to see friends and family. I've already decided next year they are all coming to us.

Sorry to hear about your gran, though she must have been delighted to hear about your pregnancy.

Chookford · 27/12/2014 09:20

slack sorry to hear you have been bleeding, hope it does sort itself out and it does so soon!
