tori I vomited on the side of the road on the way to my mums Xmas day.. Was mortified I haven't been sick since I was 9wks, I'm now 19wks! It's just a pain in the bum isn't it! Hopefully yours will subside soon!

WrappedInABlankie · 27/12/2014 12:47

Can I join? due 21/6/15 will be 15 weeks tomorrow!

still taking anti-sickness tablets every morning Sad it's horrible and keep thinking what if I'm not pregnant and it was just a huge mistake Blush I was never like this with my son had a bump and everything but so far I don't have anything.

On the happier side we have a gender scan booked next Sunday so we're excited for this! Smile

traceybaybee · 27/12/2014 12:51

Afternoon ladies hope your all well today. Had my massage this morning and it was heaven Smile. Got 2 for 20 so going to book one when im further on too. Is anybody having really weird dreams btw or is it just me? Lol

PerpetualStudent · 27/12/2014 13:50

A belated Merry Christmas all! I've been bit out of the loop with moving house and coming up to the wilds of Scotland for Christmas.

So sorry to hear about your gran trying, and sunbathing if I were you, I would definitely be enjoying festive glass of red gin, nosey old rellies be damned! My FIL, though lovely, is a zoologist, and has rather set scientific views on alcohol and pregnancy, but didn't stop me having a glass of Prosecco with Christmas dinner, noms.

Slack the bleeding sounds scary - sounds like things are ok though - hope it all gets resolved soon xx

Anyone else getting round ligament pains? My bump is becoming more visible by the day and I'm getting all kinds of muscular twinges...

traceybaybee · 27/12/2014 13:54

perpetual ive been getting the same niggles and while its annoying will be worth it in the end :)

purplebiro · 27/12/2014 16:55

Hi all, first time checking in for ages - now 17+2 and all seems well. Baby seems to be having something of a growth spurt which is NOT compatible with eating big Christmas meals - feel like my insides are being pummelled in all sorts of different directions at once :( I am now definitely with bump though and feeling some movements (although when you add in the Christmas rich food and my wind issues since conception this is probably not the best time to be sure that's what it is!). My biggest news is that my nipples seem to have gone on a bit of a growth spurt - to such an extent that I just accidentally shut one in my laptop as I got up to answer the front door!!!! (through a top I hasten to add)

Chookford · 27/12/2014 19:11

wrapped congrats and welcome, really hope your sickness eases soon!

purple ouch sounds painful... I keep catching mine too... Bloody hurts!

htf2 · 27/12/2014 22:24

trying sorry to hear about your grandma. I'm glad your duck defrosted though! I am definitely getting muscle twinges and finally have a bump which feels like it is growing rapidly, it is quite strange. I would love to feel a movement though!
slack sounds like a shock- hope you still managed to enjoy Christmas and that it moves soon!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 27/12/2014 22:48

Sorry to hear about your grandma, trying.

Purple, that made me actually lol Grin

I am getting some bad ligament pain too. Tbh it never totally settled down after dd was born but it's pretty bad now. Definitely started on the heartburn too... Joy!! Added to which I can't take my usual IBS meds so I'm not feeling too joyous atm!

IBS is mostly stress related though, so should hopefully ease up soon. We are at my parents but mil is here... And we've a definite case of outstaying welcome... And no one knows when she's intending to leave!! Aaagh! Feel v guilty for feeling this way about her because she's not that bad, (esp compared with some of the stories you hear on here) but she does my nut. She's very critical and negative, and I think I've realised I just don't feel very much like smiling around her. So I feel mega grumpy and like she is in the way of what is supposed to be "my family's" year. Confused

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 27/12/2014 22:50

Meant to add, before getting carried away on mil rant, I am getting concerned about lack of movement. I felt dd at 17 weeks exactly and assumed I'd feel this one earlier. I'm now 16+5 and had nothing I'd swear was baby. Please tell me this is normal??!

impatienceisavirtue · 27/12/2014 22:57

Totally normal pas, don't worry. We expect to feel subsequent dcs earlier and earlier but for many women they feel subsequent babies no earlier or later even for many reasons. Honestly, don't worry at all

AnythingNotEverything · 27/12/2014 23:07

I'm 14+4 Pas - I felt DS at 18 weeks, and am sure I felt DD about 13. I've felt nothing I can be sure is baby. I've had the odd thing when I've concentrated on it, I wonder if I've imagined it though.

Totally normal for it to be very irregular up until 27 weeks or so and like impatience says lots of variables - every pregnancy is different.

Evening all... Trip south was stressful yesterday as i had to drive through the blizzard in the midlands.. Any of u in the stock/stafford area must be enjoying the snow today!

Sorry i can't remember all the names to add personal comments but...

So sorry about your grandma, it is always hard loosing a dear relative but seems more so at xmas, 2morrow will be 8 years since my grandpa died at 91... We are celebrating his 100th birthday in april.

Baby movement... I felt ds at 16 weeks, dd at 13/14 weeks ... I'm now 18 weeks and dont feel much, odd flutter but i was getting definite rolling and kicks at this point with the others.

So sorry about the bleeding, but glad they found the cause.. Like u say the likelihood is the placenta will move round, they should re scan you at about 36 weeks to check. I had this with ds, it had moved, if it doesnt move u'll need a elcs.

Welcome newbees

Sun - how thoughtless to imply that having a little drink would cause a mc.. I had 2 glasses of fizz xmas day

After posting a pic on the fb 'bump' thread last week saying i have no bump i think xmas week food has fattened this bean up, my uterus has def pushed up and displaced everythin to make my bloat now a bump!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 28/12/2014 08:51

All - thanks for thoughts re my grandma. She was rather trying at times and made my mum's life (and health) bad BUT she was still my grandma and I feel bad that for the few times I've seen her this year my conversation has always started "can't stay long!".

Re bumps - mine is starting to make an appearance. I think. Work don't know yet so I'm hoping it cold when I go back so I can wear slouchy jumpers to hide it until I get a chance to see my new manager. I'm only 15+1 so I'm not expecting movements just yet but I'm eagerly waiting!

Jazzy - I'm in Sheffield and we got a boat load of snow. Had a fab walk in it yesterday to work off some calories. Glad you got down okay though.

Tranquilitybaby · 28/12/2014 09:29

Hi, checking in.

15 weeks tomorrow for me. Feel far but it's not bump, it's def over indulgence! Seeing lifestyle nurse in a few weeks and hopefully she'll give me the go ahead to start slimming world. I'm terrified of gaining too much as my BMI is too high anyway. Don't want problems later down the line.

Took advantage of a Mothercare discount last week to but a pram (then starting worrying it was too early, but saved a LOT of money), it was dispatched then an hour later a Citylink announced they were in administration! So it's stuck somewhere now and I won't know until next week if I'll actually get it.

Morning ladies! Well that's it - our Christmas has finally come to a close and it's lovely. After having DH's 6 family members with us for the last 11 not that I was counting days, including very excitable 5 & 9 year old Aussie boys who are not used to the cold, we finally waved them off to the airport earlier. Don't get me wrong, it was lovely at times. Christmas Day itself being a highlight, but those boys need an awful lot more discipline in my opinion and are constantly shouting/screaming/fighting/burping and generally have very little manners. It's very difficult to bite your tongue when they are not yours and have no experience with children, but ooh I've learnt a thing or two for our own bubba!

Have a lovely day lined up seeing two of my three best friends that I've not had a chance to see (due to the family craziness) since telling them I'm preggers.

Back to work tomorrow after my time off but am now officially "grounded" so hideous office work for me now for the next 5.5 months. The good news though is that I'm only doing a half day as we have our extra "12 week" scan tomorrow at 13+4. Can't wait to see how much Baby Disney has grown since our last at 11+1.

I hope you ladies all have time to relax now after the manic season and no more worrying times for any of us in the New Year. 2015 is our time!!!

traceybaybee · 28/12/2014 10:08

Trying can you send some snow for me and nacho up to scotland please? We dont have any Sad

Orville82 · 28/12/2014 10:31

On a totally different vein, do any of you experienced mums have any recommendations for sterilisers/bottles? Mothercare have their monster sale on and seems a shame not to take advantage. If I'm intending to breast feed and express when necessary, do I need one of these giant counter top jobs with all the bells and whistles o rwill a simple electric one that you can just throw in any item do the job? Also, any preference on bottles that you've found? Tommee Tipee or Advent? It's a jungle out there! Confused
