New thread, as the other one was nearly full! Can someone please post the stats page, as I'm useless with things like that!

That's so funny, orville82 - welcome btw!

My SIL is also pregnant! She announced ages ago but I haven't yet. I'm 9+2.
I have my MIL and FIL with us now babbling on about Keira Knightley being the same amount pregnant as my SIL and it's v hard to stay quiet. I also don't want to take away from BIL and SIL's news, as my DH has two kids already, so no new DGC from this side, although it's my first.

I think I might need to announce tonight, though, as I'm being so shockingly moody with my DH that I feel the need to excuse my behaviour...

BadIdeaBear · 13/12/2014 16:39

Good news pip - second opinions always good!

VirtualSantaHat · 13/12/2014 17:00

My DSis is pregnant too, about 9 weeks ahead of me

Toastandmarmiteallday · 13/12/2014 17:09

Thank you fatty for uploading scan pic - much better idea of what to expect Grin

Romeolovesjuliet · 13/12/2014 17:18

Excellent news giraffe and always nice to be moved on a few days.

SparklyPenguin · 13/12/2014 17:40

Afternoon all- marking place on the new thread. Finally got date for mw- 30th Dec. But the best thing that's happened to me this week is buying my comfy new bras! No more trying to fit my heavy achy boobs into little lacy B-cups! Feel sooo much better.

Number3cometome · 13/12/2014 17:41

Excellent news giraffe! x

broodylicious · 13/12/2014 17:49

Arse. I'd written a post then dd swiped my phone and it's lost!

Anyway, I know I'm pregnant today because I just cried at the tv. Topsy and Tim on cbeebies. Classy. Blush

StoneBaby · 13/12/2014 18:18

giraffe great news.

I had a rubbish day today with back aches, nausea, nearly throwing up. It maybe due to a 3 night insomnia but on the plus side, I spent very little money on food shopping today As I couldn't face looking at food DH wonders what we'll be eating this week tho

8+3

broodylicious · 13/12/2014 18:18

Oh and I seem to have developed a new skill - puking through my nose. Delightful. I defo don't remember that with previous pregnancies!

MuddyWellyNelly · 13/12/2014 18:41

Marking place on this thread. Still in terrified lurker mode (I'm a 4yr 4 IVF-er) but feeling a tiny bit less terrified. Had my first scan on Thursday at 7+2 and it was fine! Hurrah. Still a long way from certain but a good scan is a good scan.

Almost completely symptomless still, though. I'm enjoying the lack of nausea yet worried by it. Get the odd brief hint of it now and then, or maybe it's just a bit of indigestion. My nipples may or may not be bigger and darker. I can't say I've examined them that closely in the past Xmas Hmm

I also feel very far behind everyone, with an EDD of 28th July. I'm certainly nowhere near the end of the first tri! Chat of buying things is very

Pip I'm glad you feel a bit more reassured. Fingers crossed your next scan is good too. Glad others have had good scans but very sorry for those with MCs.

JoY007 · 13/12/2014 20:33

Thanks fatty for the new thread.

Bought my first item today, after reading somewhere that it's a good idea to buy a nappy every pay day Grin DP loves it, so he is on it as well. Only problem is size, I was so clueless today, decided on new born size 1. Any suggestions on sizes most welcome from experienced mums.

Nausea was ok today, not sure if it was the frustration of the horrendous traffic today that kept it away, or it is actually easing.

SophieBarringtonWard · 13/12/2014 21:24

Ooh, I feel far too superstitious to buy anything yet! I won't be buying stuff till around the 30+ week mark. It's funny because I am not normally a superstitious person, nor an anxious one, but I do feel funny about making too many preparations for a baby, I think I got it from my dad!

This is DC3, so we do have a lot of stuff stored already, but I gave all my 0-3 baby clothes to my SIL so will need to top up on those, I gave my Mobywrap away too, & I sincerely doubt that my 6 year old Maclaren will survive another child so might look for another pram… All the cloth nappies will be coming out for a third time though!

Zampa · 13/12/2014 22:35

Totally with you Sophie! Whilst I think it entirely sensible to spread the cost of the numerous purchases (and completely fun!) I daren't buy anything, in case the worst happens.

Maternity wear, however, is fair game!

Pipbin · 13/12/2014 22:47

Muddy. I'm 3 years and 3 IVF. I'm working on the theory that the reason I'm feeling so symptomless is that I've been injecting myself with hormones since October and I am still. Therefore the HSG that is what makes people ill isn't nearly as much as a shock to the system.
That's my theory and it makes me feel better so I'm sticking to it.

TinyCaterpillar · 13/12/2014 22:50

Hi all just got round to posting on the new thread, it's moving really fast already!

I've now got my 12 week scan date, it's not til well into January, really jealous of everyone who's sneaking in before Christmas! I'm very grateful for the Christmas period though as I think it will give me the perfect excuse to hide away from work and hide the bump - I look very obviously pregnant now. A woman ushered me to the front of the toilet queue in town today saying my need was greater than hers, didn't have the heart to tell her I'm not even three months yet!

JoY nappies wise yes newborn size 1 most babies will be in them for a few weeks at least needing about 5-10 nappies per day. Another non glamorous item to stock up on is maternity pads! You seem to go through millions of the damn things!!

TinyCaterpillar · 13/12/2014 22:51

Oh and I'm 9+1 and feeling like I'm definitely coming out of the worst nausea now. Yay!

Lewaney3 · 13/12/2014 23:11

Thanks for the new thread! I was wondering why the other thread had died down in my notifications! And thanks for including me on the stats :)

I'm 7 weeks +3 and this will be our first dc. We haven't bought anything except for today I saw a babygap teddy hat and matching paws/gloves...now my First purchase Grin

I'm also the first to have a child out of my friends...and family children are all of school age... So not much on offer to us. I look forward to seeing what you lovely ladies will be recommending...I felt slightly overwhelmed in John Lewis the other day!

misseskimo · 14/12/2014 00:14

Does anyone else suffer from sciatica? I got it in an accident I had about 5yrs ago and it still plays me up every now and again. Normally I have prescription painkillers for it, but they are a HUGE no no for pregnancy. I even had to stop using them every 2ww as they can cause birth defects. But the last 2days now I've been in agony with it. I get it from the top of my left buttock, right down to just behind my left knee, and as a consequence, cant lay on my left side, nor my back when it's playing up.

I've tried paracetamol at bedtime and putting a pillow between my legs to keep my hips aligned when laying on my right side, but its still so painful it's keeping me up all night. Last night I had only 1hr sleep as I was wide awake with the pain from this. On top of everything else I'm feeling atm I really can't cope with this sciatica as well. Has anyone else got it, or had it in previous pregnancies, and if so how did you treat it?

Threeplus1 · 14/12/2014 00:48

Misseskimo I suffer with sciatica too after injuring my piriformis muscle whilst training for a half marathon in the polar vortex we had last winter over here Confused

I find that doing the pigeon pose stretch really helps, as does the figure four one on your back. I've had some deep tissue massage to and find that a hot water bottle really helps. I've heard pregnancy can exacerbate it so I'm hoping mine doesn't flare up again....

VirtualSantaHat · 14/12/2014 06:49

I used a tens machine for mine Miss

Not sure if PG safe, but definitely worth looking

Number3cometome · 14/12/2014 06:57

So I don't have any lumbar discs but I have sciatica?! Wtf!!

JoY007 · 14/12/2014 08:06

Morning Ladies! Thanks Tiny we were not sure how many they would go through in a day as well, helpful.

miss I have similar pain in my buttock/hip as well but not sciatica, it's worse when I lay down on a hard surface such as during shoulder presses. Hot water bottle is my saviour, cushions to support that side. I also put a cushion btw my legs when in bed. Pigeon poses work as well and I hold the stretch for 30 secs. Staying away from paracetamol just my personal choice Smile

Baby room for us is designed but we will not start purchasing until January after 3 months scan. That said already created a wish list on mamas and papas. We have to plan early because our spare room is currently my walk in wardrobe and DP's piano room. Need to get our stuff out for bubba. Not here already, but controlling us Grin

Leela5 · 14/12/2014 08:19

I'm on day 4 of being symptomless. It's so unnerving

itsnotthatdeep · 14/12/2014 08:20
