New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

Formes Mat clothes are lovely aren't they I own some hand-me-down ones, which a friend gave me.

Leo, good luck with your search for a doula/private midwife

Kitty, how is DS1, has he receovered from the gerbil trauma?

After half term, will try and get me head around the meet up thing and organise something. Venue suggesions very welcome.

kittythescarygoblin · 21/10/2006 11:50

Well, you know how fickle 8 year ols boys can be. ds seems to have forgotten about murdereing the gerbil and is now excited that he's lost his third tooth ( he's slow I know)

divastrop · 21/10/2006 12:30

hello.
leo-i have 4 children at the moment.theres been a few threads recently on pregnancy and feeling depressed about traumatic birth experiences,i dont know if u've seen them?

kitty-glad ur ds has got over his loss.do you do the tooth fairy thing?dd1 is 7 going on 16 and knows about father christmas and the tooth fairy not being real but ds1 refuses to believe her!

i feel awful today.i woke up with a terrible headache and my fingers and face are swollen.it feels like blood pressure but i dont want to know if it is!
i dont know where this pregnancy 'glow' is either,my hair is like straw any my skin is dry, grey and spotty.

When i was a teenager we had 3 belgian geese. One day the gander got stuck in the bath full of water in the field behind us. He was nearly dead and the water was full of blood from his feet from trying to climb out. We brought him into the house and the vet told us to feed him whiskey, so he got some drambui. Made a full recover (animal story with happy ending)

I always have a strong feeling what the sex of the baby is though I never take it for granted. But so far I've been right. This time I feel its a girl. I want to find out though because dd really wants a 'baby girl sister' and I want to prepare her if its a boy. But my dh is totally against finding out!

So I'm hoping it will be really obvious on the scan and I'll be able to spot it! Have started to think of names but I can't get interested in boys names at the moment.

I am wearing my mens baggy jumpers and my mothers elasticated slacks these days. I like to think my look is shabby chic think it might be closer to shabby tramp though...

kittythescarygoblin · 21/10/2006 20:48

Now ds has lost the bloody tooth, that's the second one. No tooth fairy vists tonight.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 21/10/2006 22:09

Oh poor DS !!

Rosy the PG tramp eh? LOL
Liked the happy ending.

Diva - your swelling etc sounds dodgy - do you get high blood pressure when PG generally?

I get LOW blood pressure and have 9 dizzy light headed months!!

Have more or less packed for Morocco tomorrow and am starting to get excited (although DS is upset about missing Torchwood tomorrow night). Forgot to book a veggie in flight meal for me though, so will have to try and blag one Weather forecast is 27 and sunny [smug little emoticon]

Spent this arvo lying on the bed dozing while half watching some movie about ancient Romans

Laidback - how is everything in Sri Lanka???

It sill seems very quiet on here..

onillyboilsandbroomsticks · 21/10/2006 22:17

Have a great holiday Fox. Think of all the news you can catch up on when you get back.

Bathroom not finished...... they are back on Monday
My house looks like a bomb has gone off in it.

Kitty - your DS sounds like he is a real little boy! Bless.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 21/10/2006 22:28

Onilly - yeah I'm a bit worried as to how long it will take me to catch up!

When I get back, your bathroom had better be finished!!!

kittythescarygoblin · 21/10/2006 22:32

Have a great time foxy. you'll be missed ! x x
Found out ds2 had 'mislaid' the tooth, so the tooth fairy will visit ds1 tonight,

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 22/10/2006 04:41

Hi all

Fox - all seems calm here. No more bombs or shooting. DH and I are enjoying some time together - it's the first time we've been out here alone together !

I will probably come back to the UK for a week on 2nd November and pick up the boys and bring them back here if all seems calm still.

Enjoy Morocco !

Hope tooth fairy came for DS, Kitty. Unfortunately/fortunately DS1 (nearly 10) still believes in the tooth fairy and Father Christmas .... the first time the tooth fairy came she only had a £5 note ... (DH was away and I couldn't get out of the house to get any change!) so she set a precedent for £5 a tooth ...tried to tell him that you only got £5 for the first tooth you lost...but he wasn't having any of it. grrr.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 22/10/2006 08:14

Laidback - good news - glad its all calmed down a it out there. Enjoy the quiet time with Dh while you can eh!?

Byeee everyone, have a great half term week!

kittythescarygoblin · 22/10/2006 08:19

Bloody hell, £5.00?? Poor you have you been saving up ?

LunarSea · 22/10/2006 09:08

I've got a few Formes bits stashed away from last time too. I must sort them out and find out if they're going to fit as I'm, um, a bit bigger at the outset this time than I was last time. Mind you don't seem to have gained any yet this time and still fit in my normal jeans, so perhaps there's a chance. I'll offer them here if they don't fit!

Actually a big sort out, and maybe even some clothes shopping is on the cards for this week as it's half term, I've got the whole week booked off (except for a conference call on Monday which I couldn't get out of) and ds is spending 5 hours a day Monday and Tuesday at a football camp, and all day on Wednesday with his grandparents. So best part of 3 days to get things done.

Buying clothes is ticky though - I don't really need maternity stuff yet, but you can be sure I will by the time I get the next opportunity for some shopping, so will just have to guess at how big I'm likely to get between now and Christmas.

Lunar I don't know if we have formes over here in NI never heard of it! Happy shopping!

Fox have a fab holiday!

Diva hows the swelling?

Laidback the tooth fairy often forgets to turn up at our house so its really exciting and unexpected when she does! Its quite a while since we've needed her services though. Maybe she'll be more efficient in the future. She definately won't be handing out fivers though!

Onilly -one of my close friends is due in January and her kitchen is being gutted. The workmen are for ever skiving and she is starting to think it won't be done in time for the baby!

20wks today

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 22/10/2006 12:07

Hi everyone.

Diva: has your swelling gone down? How are you feeling? Better I hope.

Went to a wedding yesterday. Wore very stupid shoes, but made the most of my PG status and sat down most of the time. Took 2 hours to drive home afterwards, and am shattered. (I was designated driver obviously).

Onilly: hope your bathroom got finished. I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that our building work won't be finished until after the baby comes. My mantra once more: we simply detatch.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 22/10/2006 12:07

kittythescarygoblin · 22/10/2006 15:13

Phew, that's that done, the third kid's birthday party of the year ticked off, one more to go in a couple of weeks, then it's christmas
This baby was going mad during x factor last night ! Normally it doesn't move about much.
I've suddenly popped out again and the old piles are giving me gip

divastrop · 22/10/2006 15:32

OMG-x factors been on and i havent been watching it
how did i miss the adverts?bloody kids constantly watching sky1+2....grrrr.

did the party go ok,kitty?

kittythescarygoblin · 22/10/2006 15:42

OMG Diva, it's the highlight of my sad week
party went ok thanks, apart from the fact that it is peeing down here and it was an outdoor(football) party .
I hired the village hall for an hour then brought them back here for food and games. I a;ways find boys' parties much harder going than girls, they are so excitable.
The next one is dd1's. You must have done a fair few by now as well. I worked out the other day that at the end of this year I will have done 17 parties . So far all the kids are in a row from August to December. This next one will be out on a limb really.

divastrop · 22/10/2006 17:00

dd1 had a party for her 6th birthday at the flea-infested wacky warehouse and it put me off for life.ds1's never been bothered about parties as he doesnt really have any friends(that sounds awful)and last year dd1's birthday was the day i got out of hospital after having dd2...the birthdays are all far too close together

kittythescarygoblin · 22/10/2006 19:17

Hooray dd3, 10 months old today is well and truly walking. After a couple of weeks of taking a couple of steps and falling over she's now off, changing direction too.
It's so sweet to see and it always amazes me that only a short time ago they were helpless newborns and now they're walking around

Rosyspookily · 23/10/2006 10:00

Thats lovely Kitty. Lucky she's becoming a toddler in time for the new baby! Does she sleep well at night?

I'm hoping to get my almost 2 year old and almost 4 year old to sleep at night instead of each waking up about 3 times a night at seperate times. When I have a newborn I am going to get zilch sleep. I'm already knackered!

ds2 has a cough and cold so has a reprieve from his circumcision on thurs, I wanted to get it over with though, poor wee chap.

Jaykillandhide · 23/10/2006 10:04

hey morning ladies, i trust your weekends were all good, totally relaxing , that you got plenty of sleep rest and pampering, with breakfast in bed and all the housework done for you..................oh what am i dreaming about!!!! although i did get a lie in on sat when DH got DD up and did the routine, it was bliss!
So monday again, these come round so quickly dont they, i have to go back to the hospital this afternoon for a further scan, it seems they couldnt see the stomach last time and they need to 'tick' the box to see that its functioning. I am told its nothing to worry about at all as everything else is hunky dory, so i am taking it in my stride and thinking, 'well at least i get to see buba again!!

Did lots of work in the garden yesterday, plonked DD in her travel cot, all wrapped up, with plenty of toys and DH and i tidied all the crappy mess up, was knackered last night and i dont think i have done my SPD any favours but it does look good out there now!

Bought a new Landrover Freeranger on Saturday, its awesome!! Picking it upnext weekend, it will be so great to not have to bend over and squeeze myself in to the back to put DD in her car seat (curently have a 3 door )So i am dead excited about that.

Kitty, its so cool watching them learn something as amazing as walking. DD is 91/2 mths and for the past three days has been walking with her baby walker, so i am sure it wont be long before shes on her own! I think its down to me buying her her first pair of crusing shoes on Thursday, they really help with her stablity!

Anyway, i hope everyone has a great day, i am off to Post Office to get a retainer form for my number plate......no idea what one is, just following DHs instructions!! Then scan is at 3 45. Will hopefully check in later and let you all know.

Hugs xx
